Philly 311
I think Philly 311 is great it’s a way of connecting you with your city officials. If you need something done in your neighborhood they are the right people to work with for the better of your neighbor and our city. Thank you. London Hamilton
Your app sucks
If you use request does not work if you use map next to you does not work if use pictures it does not work
Needs a feedback option
There should be a way to suggest edits within the platform. For example, reporting/requesting PPA enforcement sends the user to an automated line that does not give the option to report parking violations. It’s a different number, but it forces the user to waste their time and then research what the actual number is. It seems like once it’s outside their org, they don’t test if the solution is true.
Bad reaction time
Complaints not fulfilled timely
Crashes, but sometimes works
It’s a good app for communicating issues in the city, and is better than waiting on hold while you call into 311 itself. But whenever I try to attach a photo, it fails to attach. And when I select “use last photo,” it crashes.
It worked!
TBH wasn’t expecting much but they knocked out the two illegal tire dumping tickets I submitted in less than a week
App needs work
I can log into my account on any computer but not the app. When I enter my info on the app and try to sign in, an “Okay” pops up but I’m still unable to access my account.
Unresponsive
The AppLooks and feels like it was made in 1999. Information doesn’t show or is wrong,You can’t get an exact location they end up sending someone a whole block away. Once you start a case they won’t tell you if it’s finished on the app you get an email. The tabs don’t work all the time,And you have to end up shutting down the app and doing everything over again. The app is reflects the quality of Philly 311. When you come to the city and you see how bad it is, that’s because we’re told to contact Philly 311 yeah should be called passing the buck
Needs an option to report hazardous parking violations
The 311 app for NYC and other large cities have the option to report dangerous parking violations that pose a public safety hazard. Why has Philadelphia’s app not implemented this as an option?
App doesn’t work
App installs and launches but buttons/menus don’t load, only the background.
Glitches
This app use to be great. You can now add photos which is great. For some reason it doesn’t let you had a complaint. I greatly appreciate how 311 responds to the results of the outcome. The app needs updates.
Needs a major update
The use this app on the on regular, but what needs to improve is the updating of request on the app, I get the updates of my request from my email not the app. Getting updates on request on the app would be a big improvement.
Can’t log in
Won’t send recovery email. Went to company’s site that makes the app. They don’t have tech support. Sends to another site with a different company and you have to make an account to join that “community” whatever that means.
User interface and usability
This is a great idea but the app is snail slow and the typography doesn’t have enough contrast and or size to be readable.
Philly 311 app keeps crashing on IOS 14
I’ve been using the app for a few years. The app used to work fine Until IOS 14 was rolled out. Now it just crashes when I try to open the app. I have removed and reinstalled a few times. Hopefully the developers will look into this issue. (Yes, I sent them a message....)
App not functioning
App says “attachment failed” when submitting photos. Deleted app, re-installed, and now it is completely non-functional.
App could be good. But lots of issues.
It is impossible to upload pictures of potholes, graffiti, etc. this is a must to helps crews identify the trouble area. Also when inputting text the app can be very cumbersome. The app had potential but needs some work. I do enjoy the updates it provides when you input a request.
Needs An Update
The app doesn’t seem to work as well as it used to. The photo upload function isn’t working, and being able to upload photos of the issue you’re reporting is key.
Doesn’t Work
It simply doesn’t work. No way to get past the first screen. No login or create an account link. Or any links.
Glitchy
App freezes when I try to upload a photo. A little tricky to report stuff (it will often say “ Contact 311” —Isn’t that what we’re doing with this app?) but I have, on occasion, gotten some results using it.
Some issues w the app but response from the city is great!
The app has some glitches. For instance uploading a photo sometimes freezes it. I have used the app for years and the response is terrific. Grafitti and abandoned cars and dumping are dealt w immediately - the next day even. Street repair is a disorganized (currupt? Inept? Useless?) department so if you get others to report the same issue, maybe the road will get repaired.
Poorly designed; login issues
I’m not sure the effectiveness of reporting to 311 but I continue to use it. This review isn’t for the city’s effectiveness or lack thereof, but for the app. The app doesn’t ask you to log in to report an issue until you try to submit a request. If you have a login issue, you’ll lose your progress. This has happened to me multiple times with an error that says my email isn’t verified, which is inaccurate because I’ve used this account for years. Attempting to resend the verification iemail and click the link fails, saying I am clicking an old link. Clearly their system is broken. I tried this from the app and website with the same issue. I also reset my password and had the same issue. However, I was able to log in using the profile page in the app instead of the login prompt when trying to submit an issue. Aside from the grueling login issue which renders the app useless unless you can get around it, the flows for submitting issue are poorly designed so you have to tap in and out of each question to make a selection instead of progressing through the form naturally. I would rather have one long form so I could just scroll than all this nonsense tapping in and out of pages. Whoever designed this didn’t use it themselves. Most people would want to use this on the go, but it’s not designed for that, unfortunately.
Buggy
Can’t add a picture, crashes, needs to be updated.
Notification Badge Bug
Great app but please fix the bug with the notification badge. Even after viewing all new notifications, a red badge persists on the app icon as if there were still new messages.
Doesn’t include the information I need, and has a weird concept of what “nearby” means
Almost the only reason I ever call 311, is to hear the automated announcement about whether trash and recycling collection are a day delayed or not. You would think if it’s important enough to put a notice on the automated phone system, it would be important enough to include on the home screen of the app. Do they? Noooo. I allowed it to have access to my precise location, so that if I hit the requests nearby option, it would give me some useful information. But all but a few of the requests are for a completely different part of the city than I live in, on streets I never even heard of, and ZIP Codes that only have three digits in common with mine. Requests in the next ZIP Code over, less than a mile from me, show up about 20 items down, with requests that are at least 5 miles away from me being first. It should start with my ZIP Code and work its way geographically out in all directions. But I guess that’s a little too much common sense to ask for. Deleting this useless app, I’ll try again in a few years when hopefully my tax dollars have hired a better team of programmers.
311 Response
Poor service because too many chiefs at the top and not enough hard workers at the bottom. Hire more Philadelphians!
Philly law enforcer are garbagg
Philly law enforcers won’t help at all, all they do is sit in front of a desk and even cars, and much in donuts and coffees all day long. That’s why u see overweight officers. Meanwhile the PPA is on fire giving out more parking tickets rather than red light tickets. City is fcked.
Basic functions broken for months
Uploading a photo does not work. The photo takes up the entire screen and removes all controls for uploading. This problem has been present for MONTHS and highlighted by several other reviewers.
Buggy
Crashes. Every. Single. Time. To the point of being unusable. Thanks, developers.
Still so buggy
I have photos of an issue that I can’t post. If you try to add one, it just opens the photo full screen with no interface elements so you can’t attach it or go back or anything. How do the developers even think this feature is supposed to work?
