Great app
I find this app extremely easy to use. It does everything I want it to do.
Unwanted ads
I see ads for Spotify. First I was told to get rid of them by using the latest version of the Lumin app, which I already have. Then I was told that these ads came from Spotify, because I am not a premium member of that service, which I am not and don't want to be. In other words, to use the Lumin player, which costs thousands, you have to accept ads from a streaming service you don't.

Possibly the best of the manufacturer-specific control apps. Roon is a better experience but it will cost you, and complicate your set up.

The shuffle is broken
So, shuffle shuffles everything you have, not just the Qobuz playlist you want shuffled.
Overall the best
I have used LUMIN for a number of years with Linn streamers. Tried all the others that will work on my iPad. LUMIN for me the best and most flexible.
Terrible app on a phone
I don't understand why people are being largely positive about this app. It's really bad. I have a WiiM streamer on another stereo and the app is so much better because it emulates the UI that we're all used to (Tidal / Spotify etc.) I find the fact the way you have to add songs to a playlist clunky and conter-intuitive. And it just looks really bad. Scrolling rhough albums and songs should be a pleasant experince, this is like using a 90s media player on a PC. While I'm here I'll add that my LUMIN D2 had a fault a few months outside warrantly and cost me £500 to repair. So all-in-all I won't ever but LUMIN again, dspite the sound being excellent.
Good app but needs a few more improvements...
...to get to 5 stars. One of those is the ability to play a song in the middle of an album and have the following tracks continue to play (just like if you were in Tidal or Qobuz app). Otherwise really good app so far.
Quel dommage
Le Lumin D2 reste un excellent DAC mais la gestion typiquement des disques durs externes est des plus fastidieuses. C est long à charger et les options de présentation des fichiers audio restent limitées : impossible par exemple d afficher uniquement le titre et le chanteur/grouoe … quel dommage / si l application était meilleure Lumin serait une marque phare et non confidentielle :(

This is a great app that does exactly what it is supposed to. Coupled with BubbleUPnP I can now stream Qobuz in hires to my existing system. Nice job. Thank you!
The V 8.8.2 update the song playing interrupted
Updated V 8.8.2 when playing song if switch from other apps back to Lumin will interrupting the song being play. Also sometime show offline.
OK app spoilt by recent updates
I have used the LUMIN app for a couple of years with a couple of Linn streamers and have found it to be generally ok. Better than Linns own app but a little bit more flakey. However with the recent 6.1.13 and 14 updates a big problem has been introduced when using with an iPhone. An additional menu item has been introduced for Roon use but this simply squeezes the items in the top menu for choosing the view - song, album, composer etc. This means that the button to toggle between album and song view is masked and cannot be used. It is overlapped by the button for Radio station . This is really frustrating since one song view mode is selected it cannot be unselected. This is NOT a problem with an iPad. Please get it fixed!
App needs finessing
I have two LUMIN streamers and I have the application on both an iPhone & iPad - I find the app unstable with the need to reset the streamers more often than I would like. Furthermore the search function often registers a zero when there is definitely an artist/album in the library. Moreover it is picky about displaying artwork metadata. All-in-all as this is the only/best means of control I expected something more solid. Mediocre & disappointing. Please improve!

Best APP so far for my TEAC NT-505
Best digital music browsing and listening expierence for hardware network streamer, but need some tweeking and feature upgrades. 1) repeat 1song; 2)Tidal MyMix playlists - DONE!; 3) All Tidal features from full app version; 4) Deezer integration; 5) e.t.c.
Disappointed
Have purchased a LUMIN streamer after struggling with other streamers. Now I cannot even play any songs without the system totally crashing. Over twenty thousand on my setup and I now prefer Alexa that’s in the kitchen. Stleast I can get to the end of a song without it crashing… honestly can’t quite believe it
Solid app
This music controller gets right what most similar apps get wrong. It remembers your browsing place on the server when you leave and come back to the app, it keeps the queue playing when in the background, and it provides a clean but album cover rich interface. Unfortunately a few glitches detract from the experience. Volume and track position don't work, though maybe that's to be blamed on my BubbleUPnP renderer intermediary. All tracks are reported as ALAC in the UI, even if they are actually aac or something else. Genres are not read from Plex media server, and behavior with Minim server is rather, er, funky. Still, a very solid effort.
Broken for anyone using Melco
Since the latest update I can no longer use the search track option to go back and forward. A real shame as I would happily pay for this app.

...works nicely with Linn Akurate and Melco (with Akurate or to USB DAC). Good with Synology DS server and MinimServer. It would be great if booklets from MinimServer could be added.

Best Music Controller
I have tried JRemote, Audirvana+ Remote, mConnect, iPeng and linn Kazoo. LUMIN App remains my favorite. With a properly set up NAS running Minimserver this app simply cannot be beat. Single page control, play queue control options, auto font adjustment, regular updates, great support from LUMIN all contribute to unsurpassed customer experience. I have been using this App, off and on since 2013 and always return to it.
Prior version
My LUMIN App was updated to current version 7.2.1 2 weeks ago. Does not want to work since then with my LUMIN T 2 streamer. How can I return back to prior version? Thank you

Latest version crashes all the time
Good app and easy to use but the latest version crashes all the time when adding tracks or albums to my list of favorites. That is to me a major regression on the product.
Great app but....
Great app but whenever I add music to my library (JRiver MC) the album art always gets messed up and I have reload the entire library to get the art back in sync. It’s been this way for years and years

Super appli pour Qobuz et UPNP
Avant, j'étais obligé d'utiliser bubble upnp sur une tablette Androïd pour écouter Qobuz sur mon lecteur réseau. Maintenant grâce à cette super appli Lumïn, je peux faire tout ça à partir de mon iPad ! Merci Lumïn !
First time user - just crashes
New iPhone and having used Auralic which is stable. This app works for a while then switch to it and it loses the lumin m1. Restart the app and it doesn’t find the lumin. Seems very unstable. Lumin please debug and fix before making new features. My network is rock solid with Auralic.
Need one button....
App needs a one-button solution to play a whole Tidal playlist without having to move each song over to the que individually. ☹️

Lousy App
Hard to navigate. Worst app I have ever run across.
Superb but eats storage
Unequivocally the best control point available but it consumes far too much storage on my iPad where space is already very low, and it's always growing. It needs the ability to regularly clear the cache and possibly set a max limit on storage usage. My only other suggestion would be the ability to create random playlists based on genre or artist to allow genre/artist based radio within our own media server collections.

Just about the best of a bad bunch of control point apps
In general all control points apps are very basic, poorly designed and flakey and are as a group undeserving of one star. The 3 stars here is relative to the following competition. I have tried many on the iPad apps - naim, linn, synolgyDs, Audionet, arcam. Lumin is perhaps the best but suffers from a cluttered design and handles play lists poorly. At present on latest software of all the components in my home streaming lumin crashes when trying to manipulate the playlists. This is an old problem with lumin it seems, which has not been properly fixed. The best feature by far is that I can vary the size of the artwork from filling the screen with one item or having many album artworks on the screen, by using the standard iPad two-finger pinch. Why all the other players prevent you doing this is a deep mystery - haven’t the developers learned how to implement this std iPad capability? iTunes remains way in design, features and stability, but cannot use it as a upnp control point which is a shame. As a final word, the whole upnp standard and related available software is itself flakey and not fit for purpose - perhaps why Apple haven’t provided this feature in iTunes.
Great control point
I have been using this to control my Linn system now along with asset upnp for several weeks. Its interface is very well laid out, and it's functionality is excellent! I love the abIlity to access information about the band or track I'm listening to. I find the layout intuitive and easy to use. A great addition to this app would be the ability to edit meta tags on the music files, so if you wanted to add a musician name or other info you could. All in all I like this app more than kinsky presently. Thank you!

Way better than Linn's apps - I have used it for some time for my Linn DS in preference to Kinsky.
Amateurish
This company has on of two major issues: 1. Bad app in that it is NOT intuitive Or 2. Bad online instructions on how to use said app My recommendation would be that you put up detailed videos on app function especially in regards how to use tidal/streaming services.

Tab options - Bug
The tab options to select songs / album / artist / genre / history ---- not working. I have to slide right to folder options and then all the music in my nas will then display in albums / items / playlist / artist / etc After the firmware 5.0 update - the lumin app does not work well.... Please fix the bug! I'm currently using LINN KINSKY app instead which is a bit ridiculous as it is much much better in user interface - and it has mac app too!
Excellent control point, missing 2 important features
Finds DS and music library faster than the other apps I've tried. Because it creates its own database on the ipad, searches are much faster than on PS Audio app. Interface is nice, but volume control doesn't work on attached Linn preamp (I believe it does on DSM). Adding search by folder would be an improvement as would ability to select radio stations. Still, in my top 3 control apps (with Kinsky and eLyric). Impressed at how quickly updates have appeared, hopefully that will continue to improve it.
Pas stable
Bonne qualité d’écoute, utilisation simple. Cosmétique agréable de l’application ! Mais, essayé avec un lecteur de réseau audio haut de gamme, prévu à la base pour cette application LUMIN et je n’ai que des plantages avec mon IPad Pro 11 pouces et IPhone 10S Max avec la dernière IOS 12.04 ! Application qui se coupe inopinément pendant la lecture ; obligé de l’ouvrir à nouveau toutes les quelques minutes, c’est gonflant.... Ou bien, quand on veut auditionner un autre album, l’application se bloque et on change juste les pistes de l’album en cours d’audition !!!! J’ai installé l’application LINN KAZOO et impeccable, très stable ! Cette application LUMIN est à mon avis à retravailler par son développeur, pour supprimer ses défauts qui rendent son utilisation compliquée au quotidien ;)
