WKRN
Only local news we watch. Best personalities.
More about advertising than News
I am deeply disappointed with the current user experience. Requiring a registration wall to continue watching a live stream during a tornado warning is a significant safety concern. The registration process itself failed multiple times, cutting off access to critical information during a storm. Emergency broadcasts should be accessible without technical barriers.
Ads galore
You know, in an emergency situation where the power has went out and no tv available, the first thing I wanna see when opening the app to check radar or current warnings are ads. In a life threatening situation someone has to wait for the ads to run before you can do anything on the app. What a joke.
Ad Burrito/No Casting Support
The app’s live stream is sandwiched between two big ads, and the live stream cannot be casted to a screen/airplayed as it just sits there. It’s hard to get the family to gather around a small phone screen. I’d prefer to watch WKRN but oof the ads are out of control. Edit: There’s a Roku app. Woohoo!
Best app in Nashville!
Your app is easily the best of the best in the metropolitan market of Nashville. Easy to use, informative, current, and greatly appreciated by our family. The Freeman family Brentwood, TN
ads are idiotic
in the middle of a tornado warning when i’m frantically trying to find coverage of the storm tracker to watch, ad breaks are EXACTLY what i want to encounter. :) yikes!
Not great
Hey maybe don’t push ads in my face during tornado warnings! That 30 seconds could be the difference between life and death for some people!!! Do better!!
Info is good
but why do I have to close a stupid ad before I even get to the news. It’s also the only news app that always shuts off my music before I even click on a story. App needs
My go-to for weather
My go-to for weather! Love it!
Has a LONG way to go
App is okay for reading the news, although it’s easier through their website with a browser. The “live” stream is a joke. It’s literally yesterday’s news; it may say it’s the morning news, but it’s really last night’s 10pm newscast. App isn’t really worth even the time to find and download it. Just go to WKRN.com - it’s a much better experience than what this garbage app offers.
Frustratingly Inaccurate
I receive notifications saying severe weather in our area. I click on the notification to see that the area isn’t even close to my location. This has been going on most of today and it’s been annoying so I uninstalled the app. I should’ve paid attention to other reviews which are having the same issue.
Stuck
Won’t refresh
Praying for the family
Pp
Soooooo many ads
Had to remove the ap. So many ads they were popping over each other. Worthless! Very disappointing.
No Good
Just got the latest update. It’s terrible. Format is not eye catching. Difficult to navigate. And WHERE IS THE SCHOOL CLOSING list (when there is closings). The previous version was MUCH better and should have been left as is. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. Please consider restoring this app to previous version, or at least make this version make sense. Thank you for your time, Frustrated User
Update
No longer works after recent update.
News
I like the updates throughout the day. The weather updates are great too. Thank you for all the up to date information
Nope
Heads up, the app is no longer working. I open it and see a flash of the logo and then it goes to black. The only thing to do is close it and reopen it which leads to the same result.
Too many ads!
App works great for the most part but it’s annoying that you have to watch a 30 second ad every time you want to watch a different story.
Good News
Clear and honest reporting
Horrible for a local news
I get weather alerts for my area which are counties 3-4 hours away from me. I want local news not state news. The weather channel app does that.
Story pictures
The former version was better in that when you clicked on the story, you could see the displayed thumbnail from the home page and any other pictures included. Now there is only the option to watch the entire video segment and no gallery viewing or single picture displayed.
I travel a lot.
This app is the best way for me to keep up with trusted updates in this area, thanks!
Garbage
This app is so full of audio ads that start running on their own. It stops music or videos I’m already streaming when I go to check the news. It also frequently reverts to days in the past, and shows that news as if it’s current. I have headlines from May 9th, over two weeks ago, as the “freshest” news available today. It’s a complete piece of garbage.
Glitch today. App is on the fritz
The app is not opening today.
Accurate, Up to Date
I know I can count m WKRN to deliver accurate, up-to-date news and weather. I have only counted on this station to provide coverage for me for more than 40 years. However, recent the anchors and reporters have seemed less than quality.
What happened to updating your news?
There are news posts that don’t change since the tornado went through Maury county
WKRN
Nice app but I can’t zoom in to make it large enough to read
Watching WKRN NEWS
Moved to Lebanon, TN from Grand Prairie, TX Oct 1, 2015. Began watching WKRN TV first wk in TN. Enjoyed on-air personalities, especially Nolan and his knowledge of the weather.
App reverts to may 9
Your app keeps reverting to may 9. STILL. That was almost three weeks ago. Time for a fix. It’s actually dangerous bc I check your app during severe weather and when I pull it up I think ‘nothing is currently happening’ when in fact we are under tornado warnings.
Best in Nashville—News 2 app!
I have tried all the others. This is by far the best news app in Nashville, Tennessee from our local news media outlets. It is simple, to the point, and easy to use. I highly recommend it. I have never written a review before, but I had to for this app. Please, don’t change it! Weather, news, and more are great on here! Thanks for keeping it simple and great!
App has a bug
This app has a bug in it or something. It won’t refresh and it keeps showing the same stories from last week..I’ve deleted and reinstalled 2x
