We love Word Chums! as a family and a plan it with my kids and my mom. It brings us close together!
Annoying and no help given
I’ve played this game for years with ads. Now this app puts up annoying ads while I’m trying to make my move and I cannot play. Bad enough I have to watch ads after play. I’ve text help and they have not helped. Guess it’s time to find another word game with less ads.

Fun and challenging game except when the other players don't plays for days at the time.
Fake iOS virus
Now, there’s a fake Apple iOS virus popup that appears every so often. There are no viruses on my iPad. Update: is there any way to play in landscape mode?

I enjoy this game but have been so annoyed as of late with ADS popping up in the middle of me just looking 👀 @the board. Makes me say “enough for now” & stop playing. It’s very frustrating 🤬
Good Game but…
I have had this game for years and enjoy playing with friends and some players I’ve never met but have been playing with them for several years. Two things that are annoying are the censorship on messages with other players and ads. I paid years ago to not have ads and now they are throwing them in. Not cool!!

I’ve said it. I love this game. Totally hooked. I play friends and the computer. Genius level. I win some and I lose some! The drawback, too many ads. Quite annoying!
Great game but
Freezes a lot more with the updates. Almost as good as scrabble, definitely better than words with friends. A lot of pop up ads but to be expected if you don't buy the full version.
Changed!
This USE to be my go to game to relax and I loved it. HOWEVER, something has CHANGED. Playable letters are VERY limited, as are vowels, computer blocks playable words, which NEVER happened before, points are less, which means you have to BUY tickets. My last game I was dealt 5, FIVE ‘T’s. I had to keep passing, which I never had to do before.
Chums
I so enjoy playing chums, it’s a derivative of my favorite Scrabble game. I don’t have to sit there and complete the whole game . With every days busy life you can play when you want too. The game is always there and it keeps your mind going. I also enjoy being able to tap on the word that I never heard of before and find out the meaning .

This game is great, overall really enjoy it. Only thing that needs fixing is the weeding out of the bots and scammers in the chats.
Lost progress after crashes
After following instructions on how to delete and then reload the game from the App Store, I have lost progress as as well as the current games I had going.

One of the best word games ! You can just play how you like without any Bells and whistles stuff to delay your playing enjoyment. Straightforward and challenging!
Wordchums Freezes Phone
Now I cannot load it up at all. Not working for any of my friends either. Love the game but it has too many ads and it keeps freezing my phone after the second game. I have to shut off phone and restart phone all the time just to play a game. Not sure what is happening. Awful and annoying

Good but being ruined by pop ups!
The game is great and it functions very well BUT (and just as many other devs have) this game is gradually being ruined by “upgrade” popups or annoying consent pages - even though consent was set previously! Please stop ruining this app. I simply want to play it! Update - 23/05/26 Still trying to use this app and yet they still keep with the popups / data consents. Now they’ve started with a huge of vendor preference advertising options every time you open/update the app (so they are selling your usage data). A joke, this is the reason I ditched their rival. You pay money for an app that just loves advertising more rubbish. Avoid
Jumping letters
I do not like the way the letters enlarge when I move them to make a word. My old iPad did not do that.
Internet issues
Can’t connect to internet even though we have stable one so please fix it.
Great for stretching the brain
Love this game, great for increasing your word power, but would love the added feature if the best word from your letters were shown after your turn, the same as when you use a hint
Black screen issue
Game is fun but a black screen pops up for about 5 seconds while I am on the main screen. I have to wait for it to go away.

This is a great game. It is challenging, fun and a great way to chat with friends! I am still enjoying this game and have about 8 games that I work on. 👍

This is a wonderful fun way to use the brain and another way of keeping in touch with my family daughters,granddaughters,and nieces who are living around England and Canada. Thankfully I have tried to keep up with some technology and not doing at all badly for an old lady !! ?? Years old.😆🤪

I love this game. I play it every day. It forces you to expand your vocabulary and stimulates interest in various subjects. I could go on about it’s properties, because this game has it all. You learn from your opponent and yourself. This is my game. It is a blessing.
Tapjoy
Every time I play Tapjoy pops up. That sucks.
Great Brain Workout
It is a great brain workout trying to beat your opponents and even better when you rematch and try again, sometimes successfully. It is better to have several opponents on the go at the same time depending where they live in the world - if you are playing randomly. The only negative I have found is it sometimes takes way too long to lodge your word. Keeps telling me my internet is down.
Too many ads
I have been playing in this app since almost 3 yrs. Now the number of ads has increased so much that i feel like uninstalling it. I understand ads are your source of income but too many ads will reduce number of players. No one likes to be disturbing in on going quick game.

When I settled for it not using or accepting some fairly ordinary British words, and play by the rules of the game, where odd non -words count, I have got on ok! There are puzzlingly complicated aspects not really to do with the game, but involving extra points and fancy gear, and could it be made to play in landscape not portrait format? I do enjoy it though, and have regular opponents who I chat with.

I think if you ask for a hint and you do better than what the games best word is , you should have a reward for that! Bonus points? I would like to see that change . Apart from that fault, the game is good. are you going to change that ?

I am enjoying this game.A plus is the ability to have a number of games on the go at the same time. My only criticism is the dictionary it uses. Many foreign and slang words and americanisms
