Much better!
Much better response from the app!
Horrible app
Locks up several times every day while I read the paper. Restarts with no reason. Makes me want to cancel the on line paper.
The Coloradoan
Really enjoy this morning newspaper
Terrible subscription controls
I HATE this App. Among other things it has no tools for putting holds on print delivery while on travel. Clearly the future of print delivery is bleak, but you could at least try…. Also the app makes it ever clearer that local reporting is mostly dead. This is a USA Today bot, essentially.
Fix your account connection
This app is bad at most things outside of opening an article and reading it. It always has trouble signing in, my subscription purchase on desktop didn’t register with the app until I deleted and reinstalled it, and the few account customizations there are have glitches. I’ve been a reader for years but this is mediocre. Gannet is a huge corporation and should really have a better app base to work off of.
Vacation holds
Where do I do vacation hold?
No Letters to the Editor
Submitting comments on an article in the paper and I received immediate return form notice - the Coloradoan is not accepting letters to the editor. We know what Ben Franklin had to say about that - he put it in writing long ago. One week later and journalist has not responded. Online Paper seems to have degraded to just reporting a few stories, abnormally high ratio of sports stories.
Coloradoan eNewspaper
I like the new format of the Coloradoan eNewspaper. Like the option of being able to get only the digital format of the Coloradoan as receiving the paper version on Wednesday’s and Sundays through the mail is very inconvenient. In addition lowering the price for only the digital version is a great option. It would be nice if the local grocery ads or links were were available with the digital version rather than having to go to there respective apps. Thanks, Ron Pantier
The app has gone backward
THe Coloradoan app has gone backward. The news coverage is good but the app itself is really clunky! The former Digital Print edition worked smoothly and allowed easy swiping between pages on my tablet. The current version is jerky and often jumps from one mode to the next. The navigation bars on the side now limit the screen screen size and provide little to no functional value. It is so bothersome I now switch to other news feeds quickly after reviewing the must read local news.
Comics and dear Abby column
Very hard to access them because they are not specifically listed on the new app.
Love my newspaper
Easy to access and well designed
Choked with awful ads even in paid version
If you pay money to support your local news, you get the same impossible to read format with ads every two inches. I won't renew.
Improvements noted
Thanks for all your attention to improving the reading experience ❗️The bar at the bottom of the screen is super useful! I’m able to get to specific sections far easier than before recent improvements. Awesome work 🤓❗️
Prefer old print edition version
With the old version, one could go single page width and scroll in landscape, so my older eyes could read on iPad, like reading normal newspaper. I can do this on the Denver Post app, but can’t figure out how to get there on new Coloradoan app.
New app less readable
After weeks of pop-up screen asking me to upgrade - and blocking access until hitting cancel - I finally upgraded and deleted the old app. Bad decision. I wish I still had the old version. New app has “useful” (not) menus at the side and bottom that shrink page view just enough to be annoying on my iPad Pro. And there’s no hide menu option. It is what it is. Um, thanks for that “upgrade”.
The NoCO Source
The paper has gotten better as it concentrates on local activity, and deploys a USA Today section for national news. Not cheap, but options for local news are limited.
Enewspaper No Longer Available in App
After disabling the old enewspaper app, the enewspaper can no longer be loaded into the Coloradoan app now, and the only way view it is to go to a browser now on my iPad to view. Horrible customer experience…I will be cancelling my subscription.
Love seeing local news
Love the news, not so sure about the software…
Frustrating
The app keeps freezing. I have to close the app, restart it, and flip back to the article that I was reading. I hope that this can be fixed soon!
Needs a Small Update for “Swipe Mode” Reading
In landscape mode, Fit to page width, the “Next Page” button should go to top of page - not to same point as current page. Also button “margins” are very “tight” - too easy to accidentally select page article or item in sidebar.
Great app
Love the newspaper on line and love being able to access other editions from other cities.
Need customer support
App was stuck in a loop. Had to call customer support to get that fixed. Then it wouldn’t open subscribed content. Fortunately support was still online and could fix that also. App does not reflect what is in the paper. It’s a very poor substitute for a real newspaper. Now that there is no Saturday paper it shows just how much worse it is. Today the app doesn’t even have all the articles from the print edition. Clearly not a replacement.
Good local news
The Coloradoan keeps up with local NoCO news.
What happened
Have lived here for 95% of my life and for some reason the “paper” (print or online) has gone down hill. Should have ALL LOCAL news. Search is ridiculously stupid. Would love to support local, but when Reporter Harold (out of Loveland) has more news for Fort Collins…..that’s really sad.
Annoying full screen ads & random sign outs - mostly fixed
Another Update - July ‘24 Still the annoying full page splash ads asking me to subscribe. It can’t be that hard to code the app to recognize that if someone is already logged in, they are ALREADY A SUBSCRIBER, and that making them look at and close a full page ad asking them to do something they have already done is annoying the first time and gets progressively more annoying with each subsequent ad. Just stop it already! Update - The app has been fixed so that it now recognizes me as a subscriber when I access a story from an email. The app has also quit randomly signing me out, so…Thanks! Now, if they would just do something about the frequent full page splash ads imploring me to subscribe, even though I have been a subscriber for decades. I updated the app recently at the urging of the Coloradoan, who said it would ‘improve security’. Instead, I now have an app that doesn’t recognize me as a subscriber. When I access a story by clicking on an email link, about 5 seconds after the story opens, I get a full page splash ad asking me to subscribe, even though I have been a subscriber for 30 years. The app will also randomly log me out, but I seem to get these ads whether I am logged in or out. When the splash ad requires that I re-enter user and password information, it also requires that I fill out multiple ‘I am not a robot’ click on the pictures, sometimes as many as 4 or 5. About all this update did was up the annoyance factor. With newspaper subscriptions falling, can the Coloradoan really afford to annoy long term subscribers? You really think they would FIX THE STUPID APP!!
Easy to read!!!
Easy to read!!!
How lame can you make this paper - it scares me to contemplate this
Don’t publish on Sat - new e-news app that doesn’t work / you guys just get worse and worse - the threshold of behind the only local newspaper is not going to be enough to keep me subscribing…
Too many captchas for older eyes
Dear Coloradoan, you are alienating older readers by making the captchas difficult to identify on phone apps. We don’t have younger eyes and for that reason older folks may stop subscribing
Could be better
Published news articles are not always current
Neighborhood news
This newspaper tells local news for our community. We are 1 hour away from Denver so not everything that happens here is seen in the Denver news. I love knowing what happens locally.
Terrible app.
Where are the box scores for sports. Can’t read the comics! Going to cancel!
Clunky
Part of my essential reading so I just have to be patient.
Ads
It would be great if I could pay (more) money to get rid of the ads. Ads are ruining the internet
Informative and excellent writing without spin!!
I have particularly enjoyed the content of a new journalist Natasha Lovato. I appreciate that actual journalists are writing for the Coloradoan
Nothing
Long time subscriber (nearly 15 years) - switch to new app and enewspaper on iPad is just blank - it worked once. I am paying for nothing at this point and no response from the support email.
Love it
Keeps me up to date with everything going on in town, I’m just to busy to watch the news
New App
So I downloaded your new app and now it won’t let me see the enewspaper and you won’t let me go back to the old app. I’m not impressed at all and wish I hadn’t tried your new app! 😤
Coloradoan Apps
I enjoy both the digital print version of the paper as well as the digital .com version. I can have both the immediacy of news with the .com app while still enjoying the print version in digital format so I can read on the go.
Completely unusable
I am old school and like the paper in a tradition format. This new formate is chaotic, random, and no apparent order or structure to the information. It is so bad I will most likely cancel my subscription unless there is an option to return to the traditional format.
