I like watching KSBW news and local activities on the television and now I have the access to their materials on the app. I thank the Channel for delivering great material to us!
How BAD IT IS.
I try to watch everything day. BUT it is so bad. You are NOT MONITORING THIS CHANNEL! It is often the wrong day or time of day. It use to be my go to channel for NEWs but it has gotten SO BAD That I don’t watch every day any more. YOU NEED TO HAVE A MONITOR THAT “ACTUALLY “ WATCHES AND FIX THE MANY MANY PROBLEMS!!!!

Would be 5 stars if updated more frequently, especially weather forecasts.
Advertising Click Bait
Relevant and timely news stories with a video link are nearly always misleading. Text story is there, but you watch an Ad, skip it only to have another Ad start. It’s rare to see actual video coverage of the pertinent breaking news story. Inevitably, I always end up leaving the app to find what I am looking for.
Not the KSBW of old
They used to be a middle of the road new state now they are totally left-wing. If there’s a sanctuary news cast in a local area it would be KSBW so you guys went liberal, but I guess you are catering to the illegals to get the votes and get the leadership
Stop gross ads!
I like the news article and alerts but the ads are often so creepy that I have to leave the app. Please take a look at what we are subjected to.
Not happy with constant news alerts
I wanted to get emergency notifications. I am interrupted with breaking news that are not emergencies. I am not the only one that finds this annoying.

When I download a news app, I want to read the news not be bombarded by constant advertising. Then when I click on an article, I see one incomplete sentence and the rest is missing. You’re better off Googling the news through an internet browser to see an entire story.

Both Stations-waste of air time
Both review same news - Eeek & both ONLY on rare occassions cover Carmel &Monterey Eeek,eek. /Dan G is good. Other female reporters are pleasant. Both my Sis & I say>Erin is boring, needs a new bra w/up lift AND reports 1/3 news on Salinas yet can’t pronounce Spanish names & places after all these years!!! / Better if —one station KSBW, e.g. report on N. counties e.g. Holister, S. Benito., S.Cruz, Salinas & Salinas Valley; & other Station can cover Pacific Grove,Carmel, Pebble Beach, Monterey,Carmel Valley, Chular & So. Hwy1, also Moss Landing, Marina,& Seaside BUT probably not fun because less crime. “Weather Reporters” are good especially the black gentleman reporting on weather (regret to say - I can’t recall his name, sorry.) That’s all for now - just off the top of my head. All these points have been discussed in our homes for years. Also, will never forget the 49ers won a season and were given their celebration parade - Erin was suppose to be covering this “huge celebratory even - Weird She was on camera rambling on about some other subject for a good whole 5 minutes. “What” - “grief” she was not tracking! Eeek! We in the family - all of us - were commenting... “Where is her head?” Obviously, we never got over that. “Thank you for asking our opinion.” Good luck. Why are these two stations over-lapping news programs.

Not usable on iPad Pro
The video covers 85% of the screen making it impossible to read any articles and there is no way to pause the video. There also seems to be a scrolling issue where the video will readjust the scrolling at times. It doesn’t feel like a native swift app.
Stage left
I love your new cast. I always feel informed after viewing the KSBW news. The weather people are great...but. I do wish Ms. Delveccio would stand stage left like the other weather team members. I can’t see Madera through her body. Seems to me she might consider observe Mr Jarred or get some direction from Somebody as to what viewing experience is best for the audience. I think I’d throw the fifth star, but she’s in my way.
Not a fan of the app
Nothing against KSBW News, but I’m not a fan of the app at all. Each news story has a video playing at the top that starts with an obnoxiously loud commercial. And there have been numerous times I’ve waited out the commercial only to have the video completely unrelated to the article. I wish the videos started off muted and gave me the option of listening or not rather than the immediate assault. As a result I hardly open the news alerts.
Too much memory and too many advertisements!
Every time you go to any headline, you have to watch another commercial. The app assumes everyone has the newest phones and that your phone is new enough to run this application.

I appreciate the breaking current news and the weather forecast. What I dislike is the very loud commercials that are often impossible to skip. They are so annoying I often skip to another news station.
The worst app to ever land on the Monterey Peninsula
Let me start by saying I’ve lived here for nearly a year having moved from the San Jose area This app has more ads than actual news Here is what downloading this app will guarantee 1. News feeds from the major outlets. CNN etc 2. Old local news. Bob Barkers death is still making the headlines and he’s been dead for two days. 3. Lots of ads. Yes. Ads. 4. Stale Weather data. Period. I live in Marina. The weather is never accurate. Never. Guarantee the forecast will be sunny. And Marina is foggy. DO. NOT. BOTHER.
Love the local news presented as news without judgement
This is a great station. The app could use some help. Freezes, gets stuck on ads, glitches. Love the station, the weather reporters, the local news live.

Bad App
Like most media in the modern, the concept of “breaking news” has gotten quite casual and the alerts from KSBW are no different. While I am tempted to turn off the many unnecessary alerts KSBW sends me rebought the day, I feel like I should leave them on as it’s my local news source. Also, I absolutely despise the adware that plays videos automatically when you are trying to read a story. This is something that’s need to be addressed as it’s will turn many people away from using this crappy app
Santa Cruz coverage lacking
The site seems to be lacking Santa Cruz coverage. As well as the station, there are very few reports on what’s going on in Santa Cruz County in general. The site doesn’t seem to be updated Friday through Monday making “breaking news” not covered.

Love the station, but I’m consistently having trouble with the app. It won’t scroll down! So once I read the first page I’m done. This has gone on for weeks!

Your online news site is never up to date. It even carries the same stories for several days.

I have searched over and over for information that is supposed to be “On our website” and never find it. I always watch KSBW for local news but the app is close to worthless.

I love the weather and the new here on channel 8 news and what a beautiful job of the students that send in pictures that they draw about the weather my children are grown up now they sent a picture in once and they were so happy to see it on the news that’s so important for children every where one day I hope my grandchildren do the same soon

Wish there was news I could count on
Every time I get an alert on my KSBW app and follow it to the webpage I can’t find the story that I was alerted to. This happens all the time. Just now I clicked on the arrow to watch today’s midday news and got last nights!
