Much better news content KTVU Fox 2
I’ve been using the KTVU FOX 2 news app and watching their channel on TV for many years. One day, my kid pointed out to me, “Why are you watching this horrible news channel? All they talk about is killing, dying, and terrible stories.” That made me realize how negative the content had become. So, I recently decided to download the KRON news app, and I’ve noticed their coverage offers a much better variety — including positive stories, important updates, technology, and meaningful local news around the Bay Area. They focus on reality without overemphasizing violent crime like KTVU does. From now on, I won’t be watching KTVU news anymore.
Dishonest reporting
This is one of the most dishonest news reporting agencies. They do not do honest reporting everything is slanted to fit a political agenda
Put the time back on the screen.
I watch the new for the weather, traffic updates and to keep track of the time. I love watching KRON 4 news. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is literally the fact that that they removed the time from the tv screen.
App issues
App is slow and constantly crashing.
Night mode please
Are all these news apps white backgrounds because they think they need to simulate a newspaper? KPBS does it best, easy on the eyes.

My kron 4 news app froze up and it is really annoying and it really needs to get fixed right now
Laid off Darya and withholds her severance after 27 years of work
I used to enjoy starting my morning with Kron 4 news, and really enjoyed Darya for the way she energized my morning. I just read in SFGate that they laid her off and refuses to pay her severance after 27 years of work, because they are planning to replace her with much cheaper labor. I’ve stopped watching the station now and am disappointed in how they handled this.

Works sometimes
About a quarter of the time I’ll open the app and it just has a black screen. I keep opening and force closing it and it keeps doing it. It randomly just goes away too. Another issue is the audio will come on even when my phone is on silent and I didn’t even push anything. Other than that the news is good.
Black Screen commercials
Why, when I am scrolling through a news article, does it go to a unseen commercial that I can’t shut off? I deleted and later reinstalled the app, hoping it was a update thing. Unfortunately I am going to need to delete the app unless this is resolved.

Good - glitchy scrolling
This is the only news app that jitters when scrolling through a news story. iPhone 12 Pro. Can you correct?
App cannot be casted to a TV
App works fine on its own but does not support casting through AirPlay or Chromecast. This is a big missing feature.
Clickbait Notifications
This app regularly sends notifications with story headlines, but the corresponding stories are nowhere to be found when you tap the notification and open the app. Seems as if they’re trying to utilize clickbait to get users to open the app, which is frustrating and a waste of time.
Traffic updates
Appreciate updates. Would like specific freeway , or corridor updates as an option.
Used to be great
I’ve been a long time fan of KRON4 and often start with them for local Bay Area news. Something went sideways with their app, however, and I’m deleting it today. For the developers, local news is local news.. no personalization is needed. You get a lot of ad viewing as it was, but the popups now make this app pointless. When the local news company is insisting on tracking the viewers, I will choose to find the news elsewhere. Goodbye KRON4.
I appreciate the coverage
I’m not getting why there are two KRON 4 apps? Do I need both, is one a legacy app or is there different coverage?
Not really functional for the past few weeks
What happened to the app? It used to work perfectly with an option to minimize the window so you can listen and watch the news while using the phone.. now the minimize option is gone and live stream stops for minutes so the app goes basically silent and I have to restart it… I hope they are able to fix this soon
KRONON app
Unfortunately the app is spotty. I don't know who the content provider is but they have to do a better job of programming. Sometimes especially on the weekends get old news. The same news reel plays for 2-3 days.
We love the KRON 4 News morning team’s coverage
We wake up each weekday to Daria, James, John, Robin, Will, and all the other reporters out in the field. We also line to watch weekends with Marty & Dave. We love the local coverage and counted on you for our news when we had the wildfires these past several years. John & Heidi Healdsburg, CA

The app for the main news is not working it just keeps on loading but hasn’t been working for days. Maybe it’s just me idk

Poorly designed app
Auto play videos infested with Ads are extremely annoying.Most of the times they are not even relevant to the news article being viewed.
Same complaint as everyone else
I just want to quietly read the local news, but the app constantly opens videos without being prompted to do so. The video opens and even if you close out the video, the sound of the video keeps playing and the only way to stop it is to either close the app or turn the phone volume all the way down. This is incredibly annoying when you just want to read some news. I wish the developers cared about this, but it appears they don’t.

While reading an article of news
Disappointing! While reading a news article while scrolling down, it turns black and talking of a different article plays out loud. Kron4 mobile news seem to always has some type of issues when just trying to read one of the articles.
Does not work for iPhone mini
The latest update that asks for notification preferences does not work on an iPhone mini. The notifications preference page is too large for the screen so you cannot hit “continue” and get out of the notifications screen to get back into the latest news page.
uncontrollable ADs
I love their news contents but ads are all over and starts video ads uncontrollably. Can’t read news with this app at night because those pop up ads wake my family up. Too bad…
Horrible auto play commercials
I have turned off the auto play of videos in the settings and they still turn on. Is this a way to for the app to get money from ads? They won’t stop playing. A truly horrible experience and they have the most articles locally. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. Until the auto play of videos is fixed, definitely a 1 star or less (if I could) app.
I used to love this app… now too many popups
I used to use this for all of my local news but now there are so many pop-ups I spend most of my time shutting the multiple windows or redirecting back to the News app from Safari (which it forces you to go to). I’m hoping in a future release they allow you to disable the pop-ups. Until then I won’t be using it anymore.
Terrible app
Buggy, doesn't take me to a story when I click on a notification, video play doesn't play the correct sound, UI very weird.
