You learn new words, at least!
This is a really good way to increase your vocabulary! That said, there are more than a few times where one wonders if someone actually uses a certain word that ends in an “-iest” suffix or not; to make the word into a comparative, for example? I’m trying to not spoil some of the other grammatical forms that some words will take on occasion. And one minor gripe is that the game won’t give you the points for using an American spelling of a word instead of the British spelling, like “realize” instead of “realise.” But that does add to the challenge, so it’s fair. There are some of those instances where the words are spelled quite differently between the two versions, and that is a little more frustrating. At least all words have a definition that is readily available when one presses the “define word” button, although some of the obscure words are not always clearly defined, i.e., it uses the same word in the definition as the word you’re trying to get an explanation for! Also used — and this is both good and bad — are scientific, botanical, geographical, and other words used in various specialty niches, which is where you can increase your vocabulary, and lose the game. But then the game isn’t much of a challenge, is it? Five stars for layout and simplicity; four stars for some questionable word usages and variant spellings and sometimes wacky definitions. But thanks for making this game!

This game uses words 99% of people have never heard of. For example hogfish. This is a cheap, boring game.

This game is incredibly difficult because the words aren’t just uncommon, they are positively obscure. Most are technical, scientific terms that are far from common knowledge. I don’t object to difficult words, but these border on impossible. The accompanying dictionary is no help. Most of the definitions use the same word in the definition!!!

I really wanted to like this game. I was enjoying it with my 12 year. Unfortunately the words we keep getting are ridiculous. You cant guess them because they are most commonly used. We have successful won and by guessing yet we have had to look up up 85% of the words. If hard new words are what your looking for. This is the game for you. If your looking to play, have fun, and teach a pre-teen. This game is ridiculous.

Some words are too frickin' rare to be reasonable hangman hidden choices. In a private game among friends, you'd be called a jerk for choosing them and your opponent would likely quit.

I totally agree that it seems these words are......ridiculous!! I have never heard of many of them and I know words. It’s just no fun. I’m surprised at boy howdy. I hope they look into this. Yuck.
Challenging to a fault
As a person who normally excels at English, I find that the vocabulary expected of the user in this game to be daunting. There are no options such as easy/medium/difficult. Some of the words are obscure and pedantic. These are difficult or impossible to solve. Neophytes and second language learners of English are sure to be flummoxed by this game.

Ok, but...
Too many obscure, non-English &/or archaic words. Too many suffixes added on to "create" a word. Bounces around between American and British English, which gets confusing. And tends to define a word with the word - hardly helpful. Still, it's addictive.

Word choice
I can tell when there is a change in either who creates the words list or that, at the very least, there is a change. Months ago this was a great way to wake up my mind in the morning. Then word usage changed to such specific choices of a particular bush found only in southern Australia or the particle found in the skin....etc. Currently the app creator claims to have “cleaned up” the word choices. Well, yes....word choice has changed. “Outridden” is technically a word but it seems they want to trick users instead of providing solid word choice. People with good vocabularies are put off when they get zero scores by not knowing words that are not used in normal, verbal discourse as relates to English speaking users.

Good game for Gran
Like hangman. These gamemakers provide great support. I know many words (probably because I'm 82) but learning new words. However, in my mind there are some that are Scrabblebabble "words" - thus the missing fifth star.
Rather Joyless
You might expect this game to get progressively harder as it goes on but it flings in wilfully obscure, niche-interest words right from the off so that, really, the whole thing is a bit joyless and annoying.

I love the endless hangman game and play it daily but can’t find it in the App Store any more to download to other devices. I don’t care for this game. You always end up losing. Who needs that? The hard option works great for me on the Endless version. Please bring it back.

What language is ths?
I'm afraid if you can actually spell in English, the language the game is supposed to be in, as opposed to American then you may be disappointed. There are also far too many foreign words too. My advice to the designers is pick a language and stick to it!
Good, but...
Like some of the other reviewers have stated, American spellings make it painful. Also, some of the words seem fabricated - the meanings given don't actually seem to relate to the word you were actually given.

I like the game but some of the supposedly hidden words don’t make sense, they invent words by adding endings compounds like “able” “ment” to common words making it an unrecognizable word as the definition is the basic word

This version is a very challenging version of hangman. The words are uncommon unless you work in a biology classroom, Medieval scriptorium or for Scrabble.

Very poor. Most words are American type spelling so we Brits who actually produced the term English need to downgrade our way of thinking. I even had a word that Wikipedia couldn't find in English or try another language

A Challenge but Fabulous!
This HANGMAN is very challenging but without taking the enjoyment out of it. I have to admit, the words are not all familiar to me, making it more an educated guess on some plays. I’m sure if you try it, you’ll enjoy this great game.
