What happened?
This app has gone downhill in recent years but it has reached a new low by mixing in articles from circa 2020. I’m done.
BreakingNews App Replacement
This is the best app i've found to replace NBC's breakingnews app. It gets the job done. The one thing I wish it did have was some sort of push notifications for major news. Until it has that, it won't truly be a 100% replacement.
Old news from CBS is dumped into feed
All of a sudden there is a plethora of CBS news dumped into the feed and it’s from months ago. You need to fix this glitch. You aren’t a great newsfeed, but you’re succinct and usually have varied news sources listed. Get it together, guys.
Something’s Wrong
Cannot get the “Delete Cookies Every Session” to set. Used to in the past. Otherwise, pretty good.
News Hound
Being a working Mom I don't always get s chance to sit down and watch the news. Newsflash keeps me informed on what's going on in the world. I love this app!!
Privacy nightmare
This app copies data from your clipboard every time you open the app. Developer refuses to stop harvesting personal data.
Good content but no notifications
Good content and easy to read/scroll presentation. Drawback is lack of push notifications, which means it can't quite replace the breaking news app.
Disappointed
I once, keenly used this app but it has sold out to subscription news providers. If you don’t pay a subscription you don’t get the news. Mark
Titles missplaced
Often click headlines only to find the body of the article belongs to another unrelated headline. Headlines lead to nonexistent articles. Your editing leaves a lot to be desired.

I like the app, great UI
One of the best, but I wish there was some way to set your favorite news sources and block others so the app won't be filled with news from sources you don't want to see.

Great Breaking News replacement, but needs a way to prevent spoilers
This is a great replacement for Breaking News, but there’s no way to filter for spoilers (sports, entertainment, etc). 5 stars if they sort this out.
Best in group!
First, response to reviews re LA Times you can delete feeds under settings-feeds-(your country)-click on feed. You can also turn off sections. I've done it a lot. Suggestion for developer - I'd like the ability to add a new section or rename an existing section. Don't care about having new icons to choose from. Right now, I have local news under the Society feed. New problem - I cannot play videos on a few feeds like nbcnews. Not sure why. Still, I like the app much better than Apple's new news app! I've tried all the News type reader apps and this is my favorite. I love how you see the story title and then a list or other sources and their first lines of the story. You can then choose from your favorite, or whichever initial lines grab your interest. I've never had a problem with connectivity. Sources are opened from within the site. App keeps track of which stories you've read. Like others, you can choose sources that show can show up. I don't have paid subscriptions to any sources, so I don't know if it saves your password for those sites. Of course, you can filter by type of news (sports, entertainment, etc). And there are a few top stories across the top. Pay to remove (easily ignored/non intrusive) ads on bottom. Adding RSS feeds is very easy.

Add a feature to search for news stories by searching by a keyword. Overall the app is great with news in a nice package.
NO PUSH NOTIFICATIONS?
Why not? Push notifications will differentiate this app above all similar apps like News360, Feedly. It will replace my Breaking News app by Vijay Anand.
No Push Notification? Not the perfect app then!
The app is great, very simple interphase and I love you can select the news by countries. BUT: No-push-notifications??? What good is a news compilation app if I won't get the headlines on lock screen? I mean... C'mon! Fix that and you'll get 5 stars and 2 million users for sure.

5 star news app. Excellent customer support.
Very Straight Forward
Ah yes a very straight forward news app that in it simplicity lulls the reader into thinking this is all very unbiased. Nothing could be further from the truth, most stories come direct from the NYT, New York Times.
Nice breaking news package
Nicely done, simple and fast. With the recent drop of BreakingNews by NBC News Digital, I am looking to fill the gap. Pls add selectable push notifications!
No push notifications
I like the app but.... why on earth are there no push notifications?? Please let us customize push notifications from custom sources and I'll happily pay for it.
Needs a fix
Better than most and a almost good replacement for the now gone BreakingNews app. But I have to keep changing my settings every time I use it. When I close the app the settings keep changing back to the default.
Best news app
I love this news app. Works perfect and always shows me the latest feeds. Would be nice to have a dedicated gaming news section.

This was a decent site but now they pull articles that dead end on subscription sites & most annoying is the ton of pop up ads that they will remove for a fee
De-facto leader
With the death of NBC's BreakingNews app NewsFlash has become the de-facto leading breaking news app... not because NewsFlash has improved, but because it was the second best. I hope the vacuum left behind by BreakingNews will spur them on to improving NewsFlash to be what BreakingNews had become. They should consider hiring anyone they can get who were let go by NBC in their stupid decision to dismantle BreakingNews. Make NewsFlash what BreakingNews was! Get BreakingNews' 9.5 million users!!! We need a replacement badly. Best of luck, with my fingers crossed for luck. -UnkaMunka
Not balanced
Doesn't seem to have a good representation of different news sources. Getting tired of seeing a lot of posts by the extremely biased Huffington Post.
Was great
The new default browser is simply awful. Go into settings and change it back to classic! This was 5 star.
News without the flash
I love the clean, no nonsense approach of this news app. It's easy to scroll through headlines with no distractions and quickly find what interests you.

News Stories From Multiple Sources
Just downloaded this app as a replacement to the discontinued Breaking News app that I really loved. The app displays the title and the first few sentences of the larger article that you can read after clicking the link. I like that it displays links to multiple sources so you can pick which source you want to read. No heavy graphics on the home page so the headlines load quicker than other apps. Among other options, it has a toolbar to jump to more specific articles like health, sports, travel, science, and many others. So far this seems to be a good alternative for getting news from multiple sources in one place. Gave it 4 stars but reserving the last star (5 star) rating until I see how timely they are in reporting breaking news.
Crashes
Was good until a few months ago. Often while reading an article it crashes. Very frustrating.
LA Times Worthless
While the app is quick to get breaking news out and uses a number of news sources, the fact that the LA Times plays a dominate role and now charges for its services detracts from the overall app appeal
Must Have app!
I don't need other source to keep informed with the latest news. Most topics covered.

Mostly good but...
I really like this app but it gets annoying with all the broken CNN and NY Daily links. Fix these and 5 stars!
Great idea but buggy
When you drill into the articles it not unusual for the app to crash. Paying to remove ads on the ipad does not do the same on your iPhone. Grouping similar articles, the biggest draw for me, works about 85% of the time. Solid start but frustrating. I'd like to see more / better user controlled filtering and grouping.
Where is the balance
Even with WSJ WT Fox News you can see editorial bias in the stories selected. Example nothing on Outing of CIA station chief in Afghanistan. Remember Valery Plame. It was everywhere with a special prosecutor appointed almost immediately. Just sayin.

I have had this app for a long time, but NBC feeds are an overbearing pain.

Why doesn't it display photos or videos in links? Waste of time.
Great app, recently broken
This simple news app has been my go to for about a year. Great sources and formatting for frequent reading. However this month it's begun crashing on launch. Hoping for an update.
No good for iPad1
Slow to load news stories, and using any link to a provider's site causes the app to crash. Also, some providers only allow 20 articles to be accessed, and then no longer work. Overall good news coverage, but irritating.

One word: Superb
As a huge news junkie, I've looked for a long time for the perfect news app. I've finally found it with this. Tons of news sources easily turned on or off, all formatted in a consistent manner, it sifts through repeat items (like all those identical AP and Reuters sourced articles) down to just one, and it has a built in browser to read the full article if you like the summary. It also sorts things into multiple 'news' sections, just like when we used to read physical newspapers... World, Culture, Technology, Politics, Health, etc. It even has a few colour themes - I particularly like the 'dark' theme, which works great at night in bed or on the ride home which won't bother others.
Freezes
I have enjoyed reading News Flash for over a year. Now when I click on an article, it takes me there then freezes. Then I can't get back to he main page. Happens about every day. My iPad is up to date, so don't know why this is happening.
Good app
I would give it a 5/5 but some articles crash the app. BBC articles and one other. Was a crash free app before the horrible ios8 came out. Currently on 7.1.1.
No longer loads over data, just WiFi
It was an excellent app until it stopped loading stories over 3G and LTE.
Best app -- but...
Great app, easily a 5, but frequently crashes, some on UPI and often on NBC articles. I'm running the latest OS for IPad. The crashes are annoying because after restart, I have to search for the article I was on from the top of the list. Fix this and you'll be back on top where no other app can touch you.
