Unfair dice
Like most of these online Backgammon games the dice results are completely unfair. The opponent is consistently throwing doubles 4 to 5 times what I throw why can’t they make these equal?
Battery eating
Since the update yesterday this app is eating my iPad battery even if I keep it on charge while playing. I’ve been using this app for a few years now, it’s one of the better backgammon apps but I’m going to have to look for an alternative
Dice & Haptic feedback
I really enjoy playing this backgammon game — it’s smooth and fun overall. However, I have a few suggestions that could make the dice experience much more realistic and engaging: 1. It would be great to have a manual and more realistic dice rolling option (if possible), where players can actually “roll” the dice themselves. Also, improving the visual design of the dice to look more natural would make a big difference. 2. Adding vibration sensitivity for rolling the dice would be amazing. For example, allowing players to roll the dice by tapping the sides of the phone twice, triggering a vibration-based roll. 3. Another cool feature would be motion-based rolling: when the phone is shaken continuously, it could play the sound of dice rolling, and as soon as the movement stops, the dice are rolled automatically. 4. Also Add haptic feedback when selecting pieces (before making a move). These small changes could make the gameplay feel much more immersive and realistic. Hope to see improvements like these in future updates!

Great, but…
Love the game but please do something about people running out the clock on purpose. Resigning could be more obvious rather than just shutting down the game and letting the clock run out and letting your opponent sit for a minute waiting. Or, penalize with a backgammon loss if the clock runs out. Also someone resigning with pips in their home should be penalized with a backgammon loss.

Been playing on this app for over a decade. It’s never about the algorithm. Most reviewers here focus on that but I use this app to play other people not the computer.

Weird dice
I see things happen with dice in this game I never see in real life. I’ve been playing enough where I can almost predict certain roles. Very frustrating. Suggest finding another app if looking for fair dice.
Excellent (except for…)
slow website since last update. used to be you could practically stay logged in at all times. Drop by play a few games. have fun repeat. now you try to login and you wait and wait maybe only 15 seconds but come on. Most websites these days are practically instant, right? Anyway, other than that, and it’s no fun to lose, It’s a fantastic app.

Don’t even bother to play this game
This game is not random with the dice at all. Basically in any except the simplest opponent the computer rolls dice that will have it win 85% of the time The game rolls doubles for the computer at triple the rate for the human player. Also the dice are set to give the computer the opening move 77% of the time. These statistics are not just pulled out of the air they were recorded over the course of 1,000 games after the company previously told me the rolls were all random and couldn’t be favoring the computer

Some players cheat
This game needs a report function. There have been many times where I am up two pieces and there is one turn left and the opponent doubles irrationally and gets doubles on final roll. It’s always the clowns who try trash talking via the canned chats. This game can be rigged. Otherwise a great game.
Rude much?
So many players are just rude! No response to hello, so many are just out to win, not to have fun. So many players I have had to deal with like to grind other people down. If they can pounce on you, they do. I almost hate playing this game because of the cut-throat way some people are on this game. I have many games, and play a variety of backgammon games, but none are as mean as on this game. Sad.
Best Backgammon App!
You can tell the developers are passionate about the game. I love that it isn’t all some money-making scam like other games. You drop in, play a few games against real people (or the computer if you prefer), and leave as you wish. I wish there was a way to somehow flag people who just stop playing and make you wait the 60+ seconds to end the game. I’m not sure if all players know “leaving the game” would be the same as surrendering without additional penalty. Anyway, I love this app. Been using it for YEARS! Thanks developers! Keep up the good work!
DICE NOT TRUE
I’ve played this game for several years and everything about it is great except for two things, the dice and the win/loss ratio. Countless times I’ve rolled the exact same numbers multiple times in a row, way beyond what odds would dictate. I’ve rolled double sixes several times in a row, and one time at least 4 times in a row. Bearing off is equally consistently consistent. If you roll small numbers once, you will continue to roll small numbers several times in a row, trying to bear off. Very frustrating. If you are trying to come off the bar, you will roll numbers you don’t need way beyond what odds would dictate. These complaints apply to opponents rolls as well. They happen to my opponents as much as they happen to me. This makes it more fair but it doesn’t make it right. Depending on the day, you can win many times in a row and others you can lose many times in a row. It feels like the game is trying to control your ELO. If you play consistently, you can still easily win or lose many points in a row. I will be done playing for awhile and come back to see if anything changes. My experiences are very real and consistent. Hope it changes, if it does this game could have a 5 star rating.

Predictable
Fun to play but the more you play the more you can predict the computers rolls. You make a move and you immediately know how it’s going to play out!

It's called "Backgammon for iphone and ipad." Graphics aren't the best, but the rolls are fair!
Worst cheating rigged dice rolls!
I have played nearly every backgammon game in the App Store and this has to be the very worst dice algorithm I have ever seen. The game is completely rigged and unrealistic. The user interface is pretty nice, but that means nothing if the dice are unrealistic.

Excellent app, I’ve been using it for over a year but in this latest release there’s a weird issue whenever you roll one and five or one and six when you’re bearing off, for some reason you have to play the one first. I have an iPhone 8 running the latest OS. Thx
Rigged algorithm kills the joy
I’ve been playing Backgammon at least for over 50 years. I would consider myself a masters-level player. My current score is over 1,500 with a 53% win rate. Professionally, I've been teaching data science and probability at the graduate level. There is no possible explanation in binomial theory that can justify a rigged algorithm in this game as a “probability” or pure chance. It is unintelligent to push this. You will lose players and therefore you will lose income. Why would you do that, unless you cannot comprehend this simple connection? I had stopped playing before. Hoping that you came to your senses, I started playing again. Unfortunately, I saw that in five years you learned nothing. I am giving one more break to see what happens.
Remove Add only work on one of my device
I’ve bought the package 6000 coins plus the remove add during the Black Friday sale, it work perfectly on my iPhone XS, I now have a new iPad Pro 12.9 and impossible to remove the add I’ve read the FAQ and try the “restaure purchase” suggestion fonction into the App, I always have an Error message no purchase found. I try to contact the developper for many time via there web site to fix my problem no response. Then I decide to follow the FAQ recommandation which is to buy back a second time the package. After logging out all my apple device and I reinstall the App on my iPad. Now I have twice the amont of coin and the no add but I’ve been charge twice on my Apple App account. I’m really disappointed by the customer service which is inexistant. It been now more than 2 months and still no answer to my email send directly and through the contact web page. I love the game, there is some minor interface glitch that I also write for improvement and still no answer back. The application doesn’t seem to be “Apple family” friendly, I’d to buy it for two different accounts in the same family so it’s the third time I’m paying for it. The scrolling fonction using the original Apple iPad Magic Keyboard is not supported. When playing on a iphone the experience is not interesting if your using the doubling cube.

Dice rolls are not random
I really like this particular BG App. Graphics and play are excellent. Unfortunately the dice rolls are not random. If you place a single chip, your opponent will roll the perfect die 100% of the time to capture your piece. Being a data guy, I kept track and it really is 100%. My sample size was 25 and the opponent rolled the perfect die 25 times to capture my pieces which is statistically improbable. It seems all these BG apps have the same algorithm which is very disappointing.

I have been playing this game for many years. I am fully aware that the dice are not random even though they try to sell that. I play knowing that as the options out there aren’t better. Try to enjoy the other players and play “friendly” games. If you fixate on your ELO you will be disappointed (unless you are from Russia). The English chat room is a mix of cool people and total jerks. This game does not police the extremely rude crass players. Those players make the chat room nonsense at times. Overall the style of play is good but the biggest problem is the dice algorithm. Good luck

It’s so frustrating when all you get is people saying hurry up make your move when you are thinking about the game I know they are doing it to wind you up but it appears so rude otherwise game is good I am learning to win sometimes

Rigger worse than an election
The developers have ruined the game of backgammon by rigging the dice. There is no way that a lower ranked opponent can get 4-5 “ perfect” rolls in a row. Opening rolls where you can make a point in your home board— every time. I guess if this is how you like to play then this game is for you. However, it does not resemble real world dice play at all. Every update the developers make make this game worse. I wish I could take my $140,000 and put it on a different game

Good game but….
I question the « fair dice » claim. Often I will be put up against a strange foreign name and in those games the initial dice are numerous doubles in a row. For instance the last game I played my opponent got double 5s three times in a row then a double 2 then double 3s. My own rolls against this were a 1-2, 4-1, 2-3, and the like. I couldn’t move and the game was unplayable. If I try to quit playing one of these players before starting I get dinged for a double loss. I would like to see an option to play domestic only. I don’t trust that the game isn’t somehow hacked. It seems oddly coincidental that the matches against domestic players are always fair dice and feel more like a real game. Perhaps the odd names are simply computer generated players? Don’t know. I do like the graphics of this version which compared to others is very good and why I rate this game any stars. I have since deleted this one and am moving on to try a different app.
