What people like
- Simple and free to use
- Works great on Apple Watch
- No subscription required for basics
What they complain about
- Can't delete old workout configs
- Crashes or stops keeping time
- Ads can be inappropriate or intrusive
Perfect
Simple, works as intended, and god bless it doesn't shove an ad down my throat.
giant obnoxious banner asking to stalk you
this app could be vibe coded but it demands that you give it permission to stalk you to “give you better ads”
Simple but Annoying …
I love this timer because it’s straightforward and simple. I love how it will tell you when to walk and run. Using this for my training block this summer. However, it’s frustrating and annoying when if you need to stop in the middle of the run it doesn’t pause automatically. Actually, it doesn’t pause at all manually either. I tried pausing it yesterday when I needed to use the bathroom. My 2 other run apps will pause automatically when it senses I have to stop. If the developers of this app can figure out a way to make it pause automatically, I will give it a 5 star rating and purchase the upgrade.
Great app but porny ads
Great app but without upgrading to ad free version watch out for porn or porn-like ads. Its hard to tell b/c they are so small, but not what I'm looking for at 7am.
Music and sound
I really like this app but the sound has been off lately. I have to either listen to music or the interval timer buzz. I can’t do both consistently anymore. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
Great help to my work outs!!
This is such a cool app. I can set it to go off every 30 seconds so that I can change my exercises. Or any amount of time 15 seconds or five minutes whatever time you need you can have it go off for however many times you choose it to go off.
Worthless
Does not work. Defaults to a specific routine. Effort to edit creates a second routine and third, etc. No way to delete or eliminate existing defaults routine. So when started, one must watch the first one and then try to use the counter. No support links or options. Feels like a beta test.
My “go-to” for interval
This has been my go to for interval training for several years. It could be improved, but everything can be improved and I did this able to handle all basic intervals. If it could be programmed for multiple variations at once that would be awesome.
Red banner has ruined this app
Was a great app until you ruined it with the huge red banner! Shame as I’ve used the app daily for years and years. Uninstalled unfortunately.
Can’t increment by seconds m
The time is great, except that the interval can only be adjusted bumpy 5-second intervals. Why not 1-second intervals. Duh!
best interval timer
best free interval timer that i use all the time. this is the only free interval timer that i could find and also no annoying ads either only super small banner ads at the bottom sometimes
So lame
Worst timer and I paid for it!!!!! So way to set up routines or change the sounds. Absolute waste of time and 3 bucks!!!!
Great but color
Perfect app, completely stripped of any unnecessary noise but the color contrast is hard for me to read from where I have my phone at the gym. Different color options please.
No Apple Health Sync or workout record!
I started a workout on my Apple Watch and then started the interval timer. At the end of my workout I found that the interval timer had stopped my Apple Watch workout and it didn’t sync any workout information to the health app. Therefore no record of my interval workout!!
Improvement
Could u please add 1 second intervals for the action stop watch instead of 5 seconds
Useful for Workouts
Great APP to use for HIT workouts. I use this while teaching as well. Kids enjoy and learn the sound and like the auditory cues.
Meh
Good reminder app but annoying
Almost perfect
I really enjoy the app as a whole. I love using it on my Apple Watch bc I can monitor my heart rate and I don’t have to have my phone nearby. One thing that disappoints me is I can’t start Workout on my watch and then use this without Workout cancelling itself. Unsure if this is all related or Apple related but if I could use both simultaneously this would be perfect!
App opent niet meer op Apple wat h
Na update werkt de app helaas niet meer op de Apple watch. Jammer!
Configuration change wrecked display
The latest update made the numbers too bug to display so can only see one digit. Need to fix
I love this app!
It keeps me on track, the beeps are loud enough for me to hear even in my pocket. While I’m walking my dog run, walk building up.
Irritating
Adjusting to suit is rubbish. The start seems unable to function. Only 10 seconds before kicking off and unable to adjust this.
Mostly love this app
I use this app while instructing group fitness classes!! The only thing I wish was different was a 3-5 second countdown on the watch. I’m pretty good at counting down in my head, but would love a beep as a 3-2-1 ending countdown to the end. I think if that was th case, I wouldn’t have to check my watch constantly. Please make this a setting and it would have my 5 stars!!
Buggy. Maybe it's just apples fault though
Sometimes it works just fine. Other times it just fails to keep time and beep until I open my screen to the app, and sometimes I find out its just crashed compeletely. I'd say this has happened around 30 times so I'm finding a new app.
Good w/ small changes
Love this - exactly what I needed. Just wish I could delete previous configurations. Surprisingly very irritating that I can’t do that.
It’s a Simple Interval Timer
This kind of app does not need a monthly subscription or a load of bells and whistles - it just needs to be basic and work. Which is exactly what this app does. Easy to use, with a nice customisable widget. Zero complaints.
Not working in the background!!
It was much better before, now it doesn’t work in background.... Plz fix asap
Healthy Companion
SIT is a great companion on my run-walk workouts. It keeps me on track and motivated to finish what I programmed for my workout. Thank you engineers!
Please fix and update
Before I would have rated it 5/5 but this app no longer works for me. Unless I'm on screen, the timer would always be at set 2 at 5mins even though 3 hours has passed. It also now doesn't beep every minute. It beeps randomly and rarely. I'm not sure if me updating my phone has something to do with it. I would love for you guys to fix it as I really loved this app and cannot find an alternative.
Doesn’t work anymore
This has always worked well for me until my last iOS update. Since then it has stopped working. Such a shame. I’ve reinstalled it but it still won’t work :(
Does exactly what it’s meant to do.
Does exactly what it’s meant to do. It works perfectly for running a given time period followed by a given walking time period. Great for plantar fasciitis programs prescribed by your PT.
Needs further development
There was no way of exiting from the information screen and no way of setting sound at end of each interval.
Good and basic
This does exactly what you need it to. No frills no fuss. Only one thing would improve it and that’s the ability to delete and rename specific configurations

Has an annoying flaw
Great app, exactly what I need. Except if you press start on a workout, and then press stop, it continues to beep in the background of the next workout you play. Multiple beeping in the middle of a set then I realised it was the other workout which I stopped before it was finished. The stop button really only means pause, and that workout will continue again in the background when you press play on the next one.
This is how apps should be
I don’t need my interval timer to win a design award. I just need it to work — and this one is great! No bloated features, no flashy UI trying to impress me, just a clean, functional tool that gets out of the way and lets me focus on my workout. Honestly, more apps could learn from this approach. Simple is hard to do well, and the developer nailed it.
Not accurate
Math really doesn’t add up. My set consists of 30 seconds high intensity followed by a 30 second break. That adds up to 1 minute. I’m doing 20 sets which makes 20 minutes but the timer comes up as 00:19:30.
Easy to use
This app is nearly perfect. It’s just a countdown work and rest that’s easy to use. My one wish with it is making it possible to delete configurations. I have 2 workouts I use this for and as I’ve altered my work and rest times, it’s created a new configuration with no way of me deleting the previous ones
Crashes
If you decide to stop or pause the workout and then continue it, the beeps are out of sync with the timer , simple to use but crashes often
Does what you need
Basic app but it does what you need it to simple and easy.
Just what I needed
Simple, effective, free
Not great
I downloaded this app to use horizontally which it does perfectly but I hate the beeping noise it makes. The timer doesn't come up on the home screen and I don't think I will ever use this again. It's terrible.
Not bad 👌🏻
Good little app. Simple enough to use but could do with a few simple improvements: - Being able to NAME each setting users make. - To be able to have a Dark Mode setting. - Maybe a slightly different aesthetic (ability to change the font, size of display, etc). Overall, happy with the free version.
Niet voor beginner
Leuke app, maar voor de beginner te omslachtig. Ik moet verschillende setjes qua tijden lopen en dit is niet te doen. Ook omdat de laatste rust van een setje niet wordt weergegeven.
Lives up to the name
Biggest complaint is the stop button. It needs to be an actual button. I missed it on the screen when I first tried the app. Good app and intuitive use, I would recommend it to a friend
It’s perfect
It’s so refreshing when an app is t trying to drain you wallet or distract you. Long live function!!
Not suitable for Watch
This app was perfect. Simple but effective until I wanted to use it with my watch. As soon as I start this app my workout on the workout app ends which means I can record my workout at the same time. I also can’t hear the beeps if I’m playing music.
Perfectly simple
This is exactly what i was looking for- i searched 100’s of apps and all were too fussy, and offering complicated workouts. I just wanted exactly this, on my watch, to tell me when to start/stop my own pre determined exercises. The only improvement suggestion i would love to see is for my watch to vibrate instead of beep at the end of each countdown so i can listen to music on my headphones.
Loses track of time
Sometimes it work perfectly for several hours, sometimes it stops counting time arter screen goes black. Not reliable.
Phone app works; watch app issues
Watch app does not allow use of strava (or other workout apps?) at the same time. Otherwise would be 5 star.
