Dissappointed
My subscription os for digital and Sunday paper delivery. I received the first Sunday delivery, but went out this morning and no Sunday paper. My neighbor has his. No idea why mine did not come. Canceling my subscription today.
Travel
Web site is OK a disappointment is that I travel internationally and one can’t seem to get e-edition overseas. I get the bulletins- too many but it makes me wonder if I need the e-edition
New version is a step backward
Expanding the e edition blurs the content, so you have to select the specific item in order to keep it crisp. Previous version allowed expanding the page while retaining clarity
Somewhat lacking and left leaning
Even though most newspapers are and have always been somewhat liberal, the Chronicle seems a little more than others. However, it seems they are becoming a little more balanced, even though the present administration gives them much ammunition to not be. Would like to see more international and national news reported beyond local Houston metroplex. A return to more cooking suggestions/recipes and gardening articles more than just once a week would be welcomed.
Great Houston News
Great articles that are spot on for Houston!
Sell it
This is clearly the worst paper in America. Ownership should hire someone who actually cares about the city instead of downing it, and allowing her hires to also down the city…hire people from here, whom grew up here and care about it.
Journalism but pricey
I got the subscription during Covid to track cases and now it’s all but useless to me. I’m not seeing much bias in articles or anything like that, but the local news and weather cover the stuff i need more than this paper does. I really want to cancel my subscription but it’s not easy and has been annoying me. For the difficulties in canceling my subscription and the lack of relevant content for my needs, i give it 2 stars.
Too left leaning
I enjoy reading the local newspaper but it has become too left leaning. They need to report the news without their left winged views. In addition they need to quit having their opinion articles on the front page. Those belong in that designated section.
I like it
Great, convenient source of news.
Woke, DEI, Dem Compliant
The Chronicle proves that Fake News is not the exclusive domain of television news programs.
Pathetic App for a major newspaper
It crashes, it crashes, it crashes. You may need to contact the HELP desk as the problems are many times Chron vs browser. Reading the printed paper is much more satisfying but when the newspaper boy sleeps in, the app is all that is available - unless it crashes - which it likely will at least 4 times. The app does have some redeeming features so it gets 2 stars.
Hearst monopoly
Since Hearst owns almost every major newspaper in Texas they seem to want to use column inches to fill us in on out of Houston issues that don’t concern lots of fellow readers. Sports is especially true and they even go so far as large stories about the basketball Warriors. Who really cares about them? If you weren’t the only paper in Houston you wouldn’t have this subscriber.
Support Local Journalism
I love being able to read all the interesting articles in the Houston Chronicle from my phone! The app is great very user-friendly and I love supporting local, honest journalism!
New app terrible
The new app wastes space top and bottom. Eedition not available was the start of this mess.
Opinions
Hard to navigate
Excellent
Enjoy the coverage, especially Sports and Kirk Bohls
Terrible app
Not worth it. You are constantly challenged to log in. App is unusable.
Far left
This paper needs to move more to the center in all it’s articles and editorials.
Houston Chronicle
My in-laws took the Houston Chronicle when delivery to Trinity, Texas began. My mother-in-law was still reading it at 100. When we moved there, we began taking it. A few weeks ago, management decided not to deliver it to Trinity anymore. Some days I get three or four at a time. Other days I get nothing. As a journalism major, I like fresh news and to pick up a newspaper and read it. I'm sorry that you decided to discriminate against Trinity. Mary Ellen Thornton
Boo
The new format erases the look of reading an actual newspaper….not as convenient either
Reasonable but lacking some features
You can read the news and the print editions which is nice, but you can't save articles for later, and you can't gift articles as far as I can tell. I've been back and forth with support on this endless.
Enjoying my paper
Now that the paper has gotten smaller, I can get through it in an hour, including the comics. There are subjects not seen on TV especially the columnists
Poor service
Cannot cancel in app
Cumbersome Ad Feature
Great content. Cumbersome ad feature. It is too much to navigate to read with a natural flow. I am tired of sliding up and repositioning to get to the next section. I have cancelled the digital subscription.
Good reading
Great newspaper
Biased Reporting Continues
I am amazed at the bias and unfair reporting particularly of political related articles. It really makes the Chronicle look like a joke.
Dated Content and no Font Control
The latest changes altered the font to a smaller size and you can’t change the font. What’s worse is the writing at the chronicle is shallow and frequently incomplete.
Excellent
Hi Houston Chronicle, I hope you have a good day. My name is David Zavala and I manage and operate a very good and a very successful Business called Sense Counseling LLC. We are filed in Texas. Three things probably in any order: 1): My friend name Julian Gill works at the Houston Chronicle, 2): I mean it Houston Chronicle and not Google, 3): My Business is filed in Texas and I will go to Houston from San Antonio in the next two weeks and then the newspaper is excellent
Liberal propaganda
This rag first and for most promotes racism and hate! It pushes a leftist narrative and lies to its readers. As a customer of over 40 years, I have seen the shift from reporting the news factually, to now reporting it in a very heavy slant to the left. The editors, especially, should be removed. Then remove the racist columnist!!!
Too liberal but close
Not enough articles on the Tory point of view which emphasizes the liberal bias.
Vetted Information.
Howdy, At 79 years I’m a creature of habit and appreciate the trustworthy, diverse reporting. Keep up the good work. NK
False info
Knowingly political agenda news written articles. This is the news not time for personal politics.
