What people like
- Simple and easy to use
- Free and gets the job done
- Helps track kicks without writing things down
What they complain about
- Ads interrupt you constantly
- Forces you to watch ads to count
- Sessions reset if you leave the app
- Watch data does not sync to phone
It works
It does the job
Worst
It forces you to watch ads in order to count the kicks each time.
Does the job
But too many adds
Ads
The app itself is ok, I like that it vibrates when you record a kick but if you exit the app the ADS take over the screen and you have to wait to be able to record the kicks.
Could be better without ads
There’s an add every time you get into app
Effective, efficient easy
Used this app with both of my pregnancies. The second pregnancy with my toddler it’s super helpful that I can just tap and continue focusing on my two year old without skipping my kick counts!
Ehh
Easy to use and confident. But when counting kicks, you go to another app for 3 mins awaiting another kick and go back to lock app and you have to start all over and lose all progress!
Hate the adds, but overall, effective
I hate that if you open a different app and then go back to this one, you have to close out of adds to get back to the kick count. However, overall it is useful. I’ve used it for all of my children.
Only 50 sessions free?
Where is the disclosure when you download this “free” app that only 50 sessions are free, and then you can’t record any more unless you upgrade? Ridiculous. The developers are clearly relying on you committing enough of your data to the app that you won’t want to switch to something else and will pay the upgrade. Please don’t advertise yourself as a free app - expecting mothers are not an appropriate group to mess with. This data is actually vitally important for us.
Good but the advertisement ruins the experience
It does what it’s supposed to do, help you keep count of your baby’s kicks, but if the baby takes a bit too long and you return to the app there’s gonna be advertisement and you need to wait to close it. It’s annoying
Easy
Gets the task done
Ads are too much
I used to like this app to track, but recently it’s too much. I don’t know if it’s real or not but every time I go to view my precious logged sessions, there’s a huge full page ad or “warning” that my phone is being hacked. I’m obviously not going to click any links from that so it makes the app unusual if I can’t view my history! Bummer. Hopefully my phone isn’t actually hacked now because of this app…
Lots of ads, but efficient.
It gets the job done
Too many ads.
Love the app but it has too many apps and it lags sometimes
Kick counting made easy
Loved using this app. Vs writing everything down every day
Not Worth It
I downloaded this obviously to count my baby’s kicks. Within about 10 minutes, it was obvious this app was useless. There was an add every time I tried to open it, and the settings were stuck with random dates that I did not supply and couldn’t change. I wound up not being able to use it because I kept getting stopped whenever I wanted to log something.
Easy to use
I like that it is simple and easy to use. If I use my phone during a kick session and come back to the app to record a kick I usually have to wait for an advertisement. I don’t mind advertisements because the app is free, but I wish they were not in the middle of a session.
Good for counting annoying adds
Wish they didn't have the adds
Love
Used this app with my first pregnancy and now my second pregnancy. Great and easy way to keep track of kicks.
Not worth it
I don’t really feel like explaining much but this app is too buggy, ads are frequent and some features don’t work.
M7
Thankyou
Apple Watch data doesn’t sync back to phone
I wanted an app to use cross platforms, while the feature works on both phone and watch, the watch sessions don’t sync back to the phone, and there’s no telling where the watch record is being stored.
Easy and straightforward
Easy and straightforward to use
So many ads
Super annoying ads that pop up randomly to get you to click on it when you meant to click on something else.
The ads drive me crazy but good app!
Would give a 5/5 if the adds didn’t pop up literally every time you go to record a kick. I understand needing ads but maybe not so often or before and after count is finished.
Ads are annoying
I really like the use of the app but the ads make it really annoying to use.
Easy to use!
Like how simple it is to use!
Questionable Ads
Maybe not a great idea to advertise a product to help with babies who have died on an app used to make sure your baby is ok…
Ad placement
Ads across bottom bar consistently cover content. I enjoy the app though.
Ads
The Ads pop up and prevent you from entering the kicks on time. Every time I try to enter a kick I have to wait for the ads to clear. I am glad the app is free and understand that is due to the ads, but don’t let them block the button to record kicks.
Only Kick App I Use
Very easy to use and I love that it’s free. Highly recommend!
Adds are annoying
You have to do ads everytime you open and if it’s idle for too long.
Good
Good for counting kick. Would be better if it allowed to count more than 10.
Easy to use and monitor
I love the app. Just wish I was able to enter the severity of the baby’s kicks at the end of each session.
Happy with this app
It is a really good app
Too many ads
The constant ads were annoying, but when I could no longer count kicks until I watched videos I deleted the app and found a better one.
Great
Works well for its purpose but could have more features
Good
The adds at the start every time you open the app are super annoying but the recording and functionality once you’re using it is good. Especially like the feature of being able to export to excel because I’m a data nerd and can make my own charts from it.
Exactly what I needed
Does its job. Just needed it to help keep track of my baby’s movement and that’s what it does. I have zero complaints
Advertisements placement
The advertisement Home Screen is unbearable as you're trying to count.
Better than other free apps
I tried 6 different free apps to track baby kicks and this one works best. It hasn't crashed so far, allows for accurate count of kicks and timing and allows to go back one kick, too. I wish sessions did not stop automatically after 2 hrs, that's my only negative point.
Bad Information!
The app works fine but it’s really worrying to see bad information being shared on an app that’s meant to empower and support mums to be. Your baby’s movements absolutely should NOT slow down or decrease the closer you get to labour. If you have any doubts call your midwife/doctor/assessment unit immediately and don’t wait until the next day. Baby Kicks needs to update this info and do their research.
