Easy to use but with some limitations. I find that web service is better
Good but painful on purpose
This app logs you out at every update and ask you to sign their agreement every time. This is overly annoying. They ask you to review your appointment every single time. They make you doom scroll a responsibility agreement at every claims. They ask you the same questions every single time rather than make the submissions simple and straightforward instead you need to spend a wasteful amount of time to tap around to progress during something that could be done in second. It’s also missing some data from the website and it’s been year they said it’s coming.
Functionality
Other apps allow me to place trades without having to involve a rep. Also, my other account app allows me to view the details of each fund, such as historical returns and fees. . . Not the SL app. More functionality would be greatly appreciated!!! Kerry Swann

Receipt Upload
When using my phone to submit my claim, the only option to upload my receipt is as a photo. My receipt is in the form of a PDF. That means I have to take extra steps to upload the receipt. An option should be added to upload the pdf

J’ai essayé à plusieurs reprises de me connecter et ça ne fonctionne pas, il demande de réinitialiser mon mot de passe. C’est vraiment long pour le faire car il mette un calendrier et je dois faire défiler avec les flèches jusqu’à mon année de naissance. Ça serait plus simple s’il mettait le clavier et j’aurais juste à mettre la date, le mois et l’année. Je suis vraiment déçue de cette façon de faire présentement
Display cut off
The app display no longer supports my iPhone size so I've got a useless wide margin on the left and cut off display on the left so that, for example, I can't see the value of my RRSP account. The app also doesn't support iPad sizing! What's the point of having it?

Functionality to select the preferred imaginary “gender” of a therapist, as opposed to biological “sex” is disgusting. Do you imagine that a woman seeking psychological help due to sex-based violence would want to end uo with a man larping as a woman, subjecting his clients to his own psychological illness? If she is using this feature, it’s because she needs to be able to select a biological woman. Do better.

Every time I buy some medicine for my family there is always some problem when I want to use the insurance… could be related to our names or our family relationship … so most of the time I have to stay another 30’ minutes so the pharmacy can call the company or I have to come home and claim it on the app…
App works better now
Face recognition didn't work very well. It always required authentication as if it was the first time signing in, including two-step authentication. Every time. It was very annoying. Now it works well and it's easy to use.

Why doesn’t the app show the stock price per share ?
Not useful enough
The facility for submitting claims is fine but the system for checking coverage is missing some vital information. They tell you what’s covered, and for how much, but they don’t tell you your remaining balance - which they very easily could. It seems that their aim is not to delight the user but to simply have an app in the app store.

Constantly logs me out and unable to accept claims due to system updates. A painful app to use. When it works it’s fine, but that is once a year, maybe.

Constantly having to resign in with confirmation codes. Face ID always turns off internally. Claim process gives no ability to leave notes of prescriptions are dispensed in long than 30 day allotments.
Would have been 5 stars if price charged was price quoted
Was told exam was $90. Billed $110 when eye drops were put in so I didn’t see the extra charge. Sales guy was five stars. Super friendly, made great recommendations for frames.

Easy to submit claims for myself, but not for my partner
My partner ended up having to snail mail Sun Life his claims.
Updates are not helpful
Latest update makes it harder to find my submitted claims. Before by using only one click the info was there. Now you barely can find it.

To be honest, it’s so hard to find past claims (of the covered amount). GreenShield does a much better job. The Sunlife App developers should use that as a reference.

When submitting claims for drugs, I was unable to enter a decimal under cost as it wasn’t an option yet it was an option for fee and total. App needs updating.

Practical, easy and straight forward
Glitchy & Rarely Works
App is extremely glitchy everything from logging in to submitting claims. Feels like they make it harder to use their services on purpose.
Phone number
Need more space for phone number as I had to enter 1-888-265-5227; however only 10 digits are allowed.
Not able to submit prescription & duplicate claim numbers & only jpeg accepted
The app causes claim delays and erroneous amounts on the claim summaries by not allowing relevant documents to be submitted with the claim submission. For example, can not submit prescription for massage claim. This results in 2 or more different claim numbers created for the same claim causing confusion trying to reconcile claims when a secondary insurance plan is being used and especially justifying claims with CRA. I’ve had seven (7) different claim numbers for the same claim and this occurred for all of my claims over 2 year period causing extreme confusion! The medical claim summaries are wrong as they count the claimed amount for each submission The app does not accept pdf causing delays having to print out a document (ie a massage script) to take a picture of it in order to submit the jpeg
