What people like
- Great reliable local news source
- Good for reading on your phone
- Live morning show is enjoyable
What they complain about
- Ads pop up constantly and block content
- Notifications spam you with irrelevant updates
- App crashes or shows blank screens
The first news station I tune into!
Been great for 50YRS
Worst app
Can get anything but your ads.
Too many of the same notifications
The app itself is fine but too many notifications are sent regarding the same story. It’s too much. I will literally have 12 notifications on the same thing. It’s not updated info, it’s no longer breaking news. I’d like to be able to control the number of notifications a day.
Really wish they would fix programs
WIS promotes there app constantly saying “watch anytime on any platform” but 50% of the time when I go to watch the local news it shows Investigate TV or LNL news. I understand that mistakes happen but this is happening all of the time. If anyone from WIS see this today, just click on the 11pm news from last night (8/4) and see what you get. Love the live show in the morning but leave for work before live show comes on and have gone to WLTX to watch recorded news.
iPad screen rotation has a bug
The app is not formatted correctly for the iPad, the video does not play in landscape/widescreen as expected
Difficult to read
Cannot locate accessibility settings. This app doesn’t seem to be compliant with ADAAA.
Notification Sound
I no longer get the News 10 door bell sound notification when I get notifications. This has happened since the changes to the app
Pop Up Pain
It is extremely annoying to have a giant pop up ad blocking the screen for several seconds at the beginning before any other content can be seen. That certainly causes me to think negatively of the company who purchased the add. Other TV stations whose apps I have allow immediate access to news stories but do have ad links further down the page that can be viewed or easily scrolled past. I realize you have to monetize the app so that it does remain free but there are better ways to do that.
App will not flip to landscape
On my ipad this app version will not flip to landscape. Why ?
Too Many Ads
Every time I try to look at a news video I have to wait for one or two commercials to complete. There is not a way to option out of the ads. This is very annoying and I’m planning to delete your app.
The only issue that I have with this app is pop-up advertisement when I first open it from, Stanley Law.
Type too small on iPhone
Hard to read. WACH and WLTX are much better.
Font too small
Please give us options to customize our viewing
Phone cancer
Don’t install.
No control for sound!
BEWARE! The app now launches video and ADS with SOUND!!! There’s nowhere in the settings to disable sound or the auto start in video.
Trump
This is only local news I get which I read on phone. Mostly good However the ap article about ‘Trump winning Michigan…’ was very very biased against him. Nothing positive, very negative.
Updates keep getting worse
Landscape view not available on ipad. Don’t your programmers test their updates. Each update is worse than last. Fortunately there is another local news app that has a great app.
Notification settings not accurate
I have the notification settings in this app set to just give Breaking News yet I continue to get prompts to watch the news broadcast. Today I got “Watch Live - WIS shares some of the top stories around the state over the weekend”. I’m not sure how that qualifies as Breaking News. I want to know when something is important and not just get advertisements to watch the broadcast or attempts at clickbait. Please follow the notification settings selected.
Earthquake
I live in Rembert sc. I felt the earthquake ! Anne Taylor Rembert,sc29128
terrible
the changes in this app make it impossible to view. ad pop ups all the time. very disappointing.
Fix it!
This app hasn’t worked in 2 day! I get notifications but when I go to app to open up the story, it opens to a white screen and never opens the story
A reader
Woefully slow on updates and being current. Why show old stories 2-3 days old as "news". Call it "olds".
Does not work
The app does not work on Apple devices. Combination of blank screens and ads is all that comes up.
Can’t get through advertisements!
Can’t get to news without going through several ads. Dropping your app.
Stanley ad
It is SO annoying to get the Stanley Law Group ad every time I open the WIS app.
Ads
The ads prior to viewing your site are awful.
Pop ups make it useless and annoying
See title
Ads EVERYWHERE
I hate the new format. I’ll give it a week or so to see if it becomes comfortable. If no, I’ll be deleting this app.
Difficult to read
Font too small! When you expand the view, you cannot read the entire text. A dark background would make it easier to read.
Changes to app
Do NOT like the recent changes to app.it now has tracking that I can’t turn off WTH. I will be deleting app because of the tracking
Need for my location baffling
All Gray stations: each affiliate’s app continually annoys me with messages that my location isn’t current as Gray attempts to mine location data from MY phone. These incessant reminders try my patience and are driving me to leave Gray!!!
