Amazing UI, simple and easy to use, and the graphic design is extremely good.
Slow and has multiple stops
I have booked two tickets for more than $200 For a fast night train Unfortunately, it was so slow and it did stop multiple times So frustrated, and disappointed.

Works for US Users
At first like some others in US I thought I did need a personal ID number from Sweden. However, I reached out in the app chat and she was able to set me up with an account and emailed me a link to finish account creation. If you make your first booking on the website and click the button to remember or save the card you are using, you can also make purchases in the app as an American. I was also able to click the button to add a 2nd payment card later. I was not so lucky with the Volvo On Demand app.đą
SJ Unreliable
At least 2-3 times a week SJ is late, they have car issues or something is preventing them from being on time. Whatâs worse is that the customer service is combative when trying find a resolution for failed trips which are the fault of SJ. For example: trains have maybe unplanned final stops (a few stops before their final destination) and told the passengers (including myself) that we needed to âsort outâ the rest of our journey on our own and they wouldnât compensate for that. Very poor experience.
Good info
My first train trip in a loooong time. I had my AirPods in and wasnât paying attention to the announcements. Got spooked cause the train stayed a long time at one station, found arriving and departing info for my train on the app so Mumins was eased. Has worked well with booking the tix and getting my refreshment at pressbyrĂ„.đ

A seniorâs travel experience
It took a few tried to learn the app but once that was done it has been super! So easy to plan or change a trip.
Itâs for Swedes only.
Tried to open account. It requires Swedish personal number. Remove from USA and other App stores Very annoying

Needs work
Adding tickets to Wallet doesnât work: I get âCould not fetch Wallet-passâ every time I try. Also, thereâs no option to pay with Apple Pay.

Easy to navigate for both arrivals and destinations with all stations. Concise. Efficient.
Tried to change ticket/ cancel
Terrible I have spent hours with no results and even went to the station central in StK.. you have eliminated people to people booth.. Shame on you .. we who are over 50/ 60 are still alive and need a humongous not some electrical wires AI .. no thank you ..

Need a Swedish personal ID number
I downloaded this app in the hope of being able to handle my ticket purchase, and downloading a copy of my ticket. Unfortunately this SJ train app does not accept American Visa or MasterCard. I was eventually able to buy the ticket by using the Capital One extension ENO on my laptop browser. It is a secure virtual credit card extension from Capital One bank . Once I purchase a ticket I tried downloading it on this app. Ticket not found. I tried joining the SJ Pro version of the app. You need a Swedish personal ID number. Contacted the chat of customer service. Waited over 2 hours. No response from their chat support. Very poor customer service
Good, but some persistent flaws
Very clean and functional design. When booking a ticket on an SJ high-speed train you can seamlessly scroll through a plan of the carriages to pick your available seat. But this function isnât available for sleeper trains or older locomotive-hauled intercity carriages. Live rail times are easy to find, although itâs impossible to check the historic departure/arrival times of trains that finished their journey. The app also gets confused when tracking overnight trains - if a train started its journey yesterday but hasnât yet arrived, the traffic into page will show you todayâs anticipated departure instead.
Makes Train Travel Even Easier and More Pleasant
SJ have done a great job with this app. Booking and paying are a breeze. Travel mode is also very well done - it tells you how much time is left before having to board or get off. I love Swedish trains and this app just makes the whole experience that much better.
Train option was actually a bus.
Doesnât always tell you what options were there. I tried to book a train and it came back as a bus - but only after I paid. And this is very difficult with a baby
NÀr man söker resor
Irriterande att tiderna i listen hoppar hela tiden nĂ€r man skrollar upp eller ner. Ăr jag pĂ„ resor kl 18 och vill titta pĂ„ tidigare resa sĂ„ hoppar det tillbaka till 18-19 tiden igen. Eller tvĂ€rtom om man tittar pĂ„ tid vid 10 och skrollar ner för att titta pĂ„ senare tid sĂ„ hoppar vyn tillbaka till 9-10 tiden. Flera gĂ„nger hĂ€nder detta.
Bad payment design feature
Great app in general. But greatly disappointed about the design choice regarding setting up card payment. As a UK card holder I was unable to use letters while specifying my post code. Swedish post codes only use numbers but if you are from a country using letters you wont be able to fill in your details using this app. I solved it by typing my post code in a separate app, then copy/paste. But very disappointing. An app for traveling should be well prepared for tourism. Happy to increase the rating once this has been solved!!
Delayed trains
Why when a train is delayed, is it not shown as an upcoming departure when looking at a station? Really unhelpful for looking up the data Why I canât scroll back through recently departed trains either...

Impossible to pay
So the app works great, except for two critical flaws. The first is that it doesnât let you use a foreign phone number. Why have this in the US App Store if you canât have foreign phone numbers? The second flaw is that I canât pay for a ticket. Iâve tried 4 US-issued credit cards and one Swedish-issued card. None worked. And for the US cards, my credit card companies said they didnât even get the payment request so it wasnât a matter of the cards getting declined. The SJ system didnât even make the payment request. The other option is to use Swish to pay. Since you need a Swedish bank account, thatâs not a viable payment option for most people outside Sweden. Would love to use the app if I could actually buy a ticket with it đ

Itâs just a blown up version of the iPhone app and doesnât even rotate so I canât use it when my iPad is horizontal. Which is all the time I use my iPad. Thanks but no thanks. Prisbelönad you say?
Language settings
This would be a great app if it was possible to select language independent from the language on the phone.

Compared to Norwegian Rail, more like Amtrak...
Norwegian Rail from Oslo to Bergen and back was excellent. Clean windows; the entire train was spotless and on time. Swedish Rail from Oslo to Stockholm was completely different. Engine trouble halfway, windows filthy (it looked as though we were locked in a heavy fog, yet it was clear. A few days later from Stockholm to Copenhagen was far worse. Keep in mind, all of our travel was â1st Classâ. Windows filthy, very little accommodation for large suitcases, all of which would be fine if the train ran on time. A signal issue occurred at the halfway point, resulting in a three-hour delay, turning a five and one half hour trip into nearly nine hours. They announced, as we approached Malmo (just before crossing into Denmark, that Malmo would be the end of the line, requiring everyone to disembark to take a commuter rail train into Copenhagen. After everyone was lined up with all baggage retrieved from overheads and other storage areas, the order was countermanded. It resulted in all luggage semi-returned to storage, with aisles clogged with baggage. The train came into Copenhagen, after another forty-five minutes, at a remote track which was NOT in the main terminal, raining on the open track and platform area with the entire passenger group fleeing toward one five-passenger elevator to get to street level. Another quarter-mile hike was then required to get to a cab line in front of the main terminal. It made Amtrak look like the Japanese Bullet Train. It was truly Third World. Never again.
Solid app
I'm a swede living in US and visit Sweden about twice a year, traveling by train to and from the airport. The app is solid. Living in Silicon Valley you are used to quality apps and this one despite being Swedish hold up pretty well. It's easy to manage your ticket, it shows you track departure, cabin, seats, delays etc. Almost all you would expect. 2016 I expect Touch ID for login so that removes half a star. Another 1/2 star drop is not showing/updating track #. It shows it in the app but when adding it to apple wallet it goes away and just shows you -. It's OK if you buy the ticket early and track still isn't available but even adding it after its available in the app it shows - so some bug there. Ideally it would sync and update in Apple wallet once available.

What happened to passbook/wallet support?
Well-designed, extremely efficient
I'm so impressed with how wonderfully designed, easy-to-use, and laid out this app is. Not only does it make purchasing tickets quick and painless, the post-purchase experience with quickly accessing your ticket QR to show to the attendant, live trip updates with GPS, etc. are all very nice to see, and aesthetically pleasing.

Trevlig och tydlig grafiskt sett. Ănskar dock att QRkoden var mer lĂ€ttillgĂ€nglig. Samt att det gick att lĂ€gga biljetten i App Wallet. Struligt att visa biljetten mao.

Makes it hard to pay for tickets if you arenât Swedish...
Canât use Amex on the train, but canât set up an account on the app, so you have to pay each time. Support is poor. Not typical of Swedish competency.

Senaste versionen Àr nog 5 steg tillbaka. Nu Àr den vÀldigt "basic" och egentligen bara en lÀnk till mobilsidan. Tidigare versioner var vÀldigt buggiga men nÀr den funkade var den mycket bÀttre Àn det hÀr. Att ta bort alla funktioner var inte rÀtt lösning ur en kundperspektiv!

Maten gjorde mig sjuk
Jag satt i första klass och hade bokat vegetarisk mat. Jag konfirmerade detta med kvinnan som jobbade pÄ tÄget sÄ jag tog för givet att det som sÄg ut lite som kyckling var svamp/vegetarisk "kyckling". Men det var det inte. Jag hade inte Àtit kyckling pÄ nÀstan 10 Är sÄ jag blev riktigt illamÄende och personalen betedde sig som om jag borde kollat maten bettre innan jag Ät den, och som om de inte gjort nÄtt fel...

Fungerar nÀstan...
GrÀnssnittet ser konstigt ut, allt görs inte i appen, utan i ett fönster till webbsajten, vissa funktioner fungerar inte alls, t ex att se biljetten i appen, men det gÄr i alla fall att se tidtabell och bestÀlla SMS-biljett!

JĂ€ttebra och anvĂ€ndbar app, FĂRUTOM att det inte gĂ„r att vĂ€lja sittplats dĂ„ man bokar. Jag mĂ„ste sitta vid fönstret för att ej mĂ„ illa men detta gĂ„r inte att boka via appen. Ett stort problem om jag har brĂ„ttom att boka biljett för att undvika högre priser. FĂ„r en 5:a sĂ„ fort detta har Ă€ndrats.
