Great app, but could use a bit of a refresh, especially for iPad which is quite common for papers nowadays. Great content and curation, just needs an equally good interface for the essentials!

I don’t think this app has enough ads and paywalls. Maybe you could add a few more, just so that when I’m reading one of the 2 free access ads, they pop up and interrupt my attempt at finding news.
Unable to use on my ipad
Since the most recent update I’m unable to load the app on my IPad Air. I have been using the app for years. Just can’t believe that I have now been left out.
Every Article Paywalled
With the latest update, every article has been paywalled rendering the app completely useable and leaving no choice but to delete
Poorly executed
Still very buggy. Share button only works sporadically, “done” button broken. They fixed the bug where clicking a link if a story was open wouldn’t get you there, but now once you’re there you have to force quit to get the page to close. It’s 2021 people, high school kids are coding apps more elegantly than this. Luckily the shoddy appsmanship matches the shoddy journalism perfectly so no unrealistic expectations. Icing on the cake you have to log in over and over and over. I guess they’re worried if someone steals and unlocks my phone they won’t have to pay for poorly conceived, poorly written, and poorly edited stories about local restaurants going out of business?

Terrible terrible terrible
Upgrade falls short
Had recently been using the app rather than mobile browser with good results. As recent reviews suggest the recent update has serious functionality issues. I had no problems with install or launch and the new upgrade has a cleaner interface. When a story launches properly this works well. Unfortunately many articles fail to launch at all or load improperly. Links may result in message of post not being available but that are if using syracuse.com on mobile browser. Same issue for links that only partially load in app but load correctly via browser. Will check back on the app occasionally hoping it can be restored to its prior reliability. This seems like it was released prematurely but has potential to be cleaned up.
Terrible upgrade on July 23
8:30 pm on 7/23 - clicked on app and new upgrade came on screen; do not like it. Difficult to navigate around and news did not seem that current. Prior app edition was very easy to find latest news.
New version of the app is almost unusable
No way to refresh the newsfeed. Have to force quit. Scrolling through news, it automatically scrolls backwards when you pause. I don’t understand how apps like this make it through QA - did no one test this?
Why does it load so slow?
When it finally loads, it is a descent app. But the slow loading is eternally frustrating. You all need to do better.
Was good for a while but....
I used this as my way of finding out local news, but now I can’t rely on it. Almost every article I try to read it kicks me off saying I have to subscribe to read it. It’s too bad I really enjoyed this app!
Terrible App
This is easily the worst app on my phone. It takes forever to load and crashes at least half of the time I try to open it. It constantly signs me out of my account. Photo slide shows are basically unusable. I want to keep up on local news and I pay for a subscription, but this app makes it extremely difficult to actually read the journalism I’m paying to support.
Free or Not Free ...that is the question
This is a good app however Syracuse.com needs to decide if they want to continue to offer this app for free or charge for it. You can down load it fine however when you go to access a story it takes you to a subscription offer pop-up. When you decline the offer it takes you back to the story but each time you try to re-access the article the subscription pop-up reappears so you can’t read the story. Free or not Free ...please decide.

Horrible execution
I have to delete the app and reload daily because I get notices that I can’t read articles that are subscriber only. I am a subscriber. Customer service has no suggestion to date beyond deleting the app and reloading. 😒
Wants Me to Resubscribe
I can’t access many news articles, I am asked to subscribe for access, even though I am subscribed and signed into my account. I have signed out, deleted and reloaded app, then signed back in several times to no avail. I have complained to Syracuse.com with no response or resolution. I am beginning to question the value of my subscription if I frequently can’t access new content.
