No longer works on Car Play
O have used this app on car play for a while now. I don’t know if they haven’t kept this app up to date or what is going on. It no longer works on car play nor streaming on my phone. I have deleted and reinstalled and no success.
Useful!
I use the NHPR app while traveling so I don’t have to search out other NPR stations. Definitely saves my aggravation during a long drive

How thee crashes and crashes and crashes yet again. Verily thy ad about streaming support doth play far too oft and for too long. Frequently have I deleted and reinstalled the post a persistent crash from which it doth refuse to recover.

NPR is great; the app needs work
I just started having a problem with the sponsor ad at the beginning of the stream repeating over and over. If I wasn’t having that problem, I would give this 3 stars. The app takes too long to load. Also, the audio stream is constantly stopping to buffer. Frustrating!

App needs work
Hi - I am a sustaining member and I listen constantly but the only time I use the app is during the pledge drive so I can access the pledge-free stream. The visual is too busy. The articles aren’t easily scanned in the snapshot format. There should be a way to see text headlines without having to scroll both up and down as well as side to side. It’s too hard to figure out how to listen to the live stream. Also, the podcasts aren’t why people are on your app, so they should not be first up.
App needs work
I love NHPR, but almost every day I have to delete and reinstall the app for lack of access. Sometimes several times a day! This is especially frustrating if there is something I want to catch right away or continue after listening in the car. For NPR news programs, I often have to listen to maine public because it is more accessible! I live in Durham and contribute monthly to nhpr. Good luck with improvements’

Makes listening so easy.
Disappointed
As others have said, ads interrupt shows midstream. Buffering often fails. Very disappointed.
Not bad... for free
But I wouldn’t pay for it. Too rudimentary and clunky, and sometimes has serious connection issues regardless if signal strength... WiFi or cellular. But it does the job most of the time, so... 3 stars for operation and one more for price.
Should be better.
The primary function of this app is to stream NHPR to people without an over-the-air signal and it fulfills that poorly. The feed drops frequently, or loops, or just won’t load without first logging out, quitting, or sometimes reinstalling. And this has been true for years. I’m a supporter, but do not feel NHPR has spent the appropriate degree of effort to maintain and improve this important means of accessing their content.
Doesn’t load
Don’t know what ‘s been done but now loads and crashes... this despite deleting and re-installing. Sad as it used to be good.
First time user
I usually listen on the radio. Today that wasn’t possible so tried the app. Works great!
This app needs work
I love NHPR - I would listen to it all day if I could. Unfortunately, I live in an area with three stations all within an hour of my home, but we can’t get NHPR on either our car or home stereo. So I turn to the app. It had been working fine, until a few months ago. It hesitates to load the feed, it often cuts out for no reason, and it restarts the feed randomly. But the most annoying part is that it will loop anywhere from 2 to 5 seconds, constantly. Just now I heard about three seconds of This American Life five times before deleting (and reinstalling) the app out of frustration. Now it won’t load at all, just cycles from 0 to 93% and back down again. C’mon guys, you’re forcing me to listen to VPR, and I can’t stand that station. Please help!

Love the app, it’s my go to for up to date information on the world as we are huddled inside hoping for the virus to subside
Not good. Used to be better
Web pages don’t load properly, charts don’t display fully, link to browser doesn’t work. Audio pauses & reloads. The WBUR app is much more reliable. Harsh because I want you to make this work. Needs a complete redesign and not using Drupal for the website.
Could be better
I love that I can listen to NHPR using the app in my office. I have recently become frustrated because the app doesn’t load the feed right away. I have to tap 40-50 times before the news comes on. I am a sustaining member and I hope you are able to fix this and to stop the random cutoffs as well. The are frustrating.

I love NHPR and the app. It keeps me connected to NHPR whether I’m in NH, VT or Ohio (and beyond).
Very disappointing
This app used to work well, but now it demands I login in order to use it, and when I try/skip it gives me an error. I give away my info enough already, I shouldn't have to do it here!
Good app
App works great. I wish it would delay the news update until the stream is ready to play. (I just want to listen to the streaming audio.). Thanks
dumb problems
App always starts by asking me to sign up with no provision to say "never." And "sign in via Facebook" is NEVER something I would do. News feed often does not match on-air feed (or the app's tag for 'current program'.) These problems do not exist with the "radio" feed from iTunes, they are unique to this app.

Hi I am a member already, but I didn’t use Facebook or google to create an account. I can’t see any other way to logon. Oh well I guess I will keep using the npr app...

This app is terrible...
This app is terrible... I donate every year and listen to countless hours of solicitations for donations, but really NHPR?! You can do a way better than this app. I barely listen to NHPR when I'm not in NH bc your online radio malfunctions. VPR and Maine Public have apps that are Leagues better...
Could use some work
I only just got the new app so I may not have used it enough to give a complete review but these are the issues I’ve had in the past. First I am a sustaining member of NHPR and love this station. Second - when a broadcast is interrupted with an ad, I want to scream. It doesn’t interrupt at a normal break but in the middle of a story instead. I’m hoping this has been corrected with the upgrade. I had a problem for a while with the app reverting to the NHPR classical station but I finally logged on instead of skipping over the log on, it seems better. So happy to have the live stream that I can listen to at my leisure. Thanks!
Please get rid of the login. It’s unnecessary.
The prompt for a login is completely unnecessary. At least provide a “don’t ask me again” option.

I have over the last years drifted away from music radio to NHPR, I’m an avid listener, sometimes my commute(my primary listening time) ends and the story I’m listening to isn’t over, with the app I can continue listening without my car! It’s also fantastic access to print publication and Podcasts! Fantastic app!

I normally use this app daily to keep up with everything. In the last couple days it's asking me to login, but I've been able to skip it. Now today I can't login or skip it or listen to NHPR. I want to give it 5 stars, but something has changed. Please fix it. An NHPR member.

Indespensible! (but...)
Could not live without this app! Radio reception in my home is wonky at best. Also like ease of hometown news + predictable schedule of fave shows when I'm away. Sometimes app randomly glitches out and quits/pauses/interrupts for no reason I can fathom.

I listen through the app constantly, at home, in the car or while on travel. It’s a convenient way to keep in touch with the world and NH specifically. Great work!
