Kein Sleeptimer auf der Apple Watch
Der Beschreibungstext suggerierte es gäbe auf der Apple Watch einen direkt steuerbaren Sleeptimer. Das is nicht der Fall. Keine Moglichkeit vorab zu testen - absoluter Fehlkauf. Ausserdem gibt es keine Textsuche für die Podcasts auf der Watch - nur Kategorien.
Great app with minor issues.
I was looking for some time for a new podcast app and it seems I finally found it! It has a few quirks with the user interface and the one or other feature, but it is in my opinion by far better than most of the other podcast players out there!
Es war einmal die beste Podcast-App
Nachdem ich nun fast alle im Store erhältlichen Podcasts-App getestet (und leider auch bezahlt) habe, kann ich diese App uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Habe 65 Podcasts abonniert und keine andere App kann mit dieser Anzahl so souverän umgehen. Bei einer solch hohen Zahl wird es bei anderen Apps schnell unübersichtlich - nicht jede Episode, die erscheint, will man schließlich auch herunterladen. iCatcher ist sehr gut zu bedienen und greift die Feeds zudem wesentlich schneller ab als andere Programme. Danke dem Programmierer! .... Update 1. Februar 2017: noch immer ungeschlagen und meiner Meinung nach der beste Podcatcher im Store, zumal er regelmäßig aktualisiert wird. .... Update 23. März 2019: Da ich nun Apple CarPlay besitze, habe ich mir die übrigen Podcast-Apps auf dem Markt noch einmal angeschaut. Und ich bleibe bei iCatcher. Keine andere App bietet so viele Einstellmöglichkeiten, bei keiner anderen App ist das Hören so ein Genuss. —- Update 2026-07-05: Leider ist die App nach dem großen Update wesentlich schlechter. Ganz vorneweg ist zu kritisieren, dass die Geschwindigkeitsregulierung nicht mehr zuverlässig funktioniert. Trotz korrekter Einstellung wirkt eine Änderung global. Auch ist es nicht mehr möglich, auf die Werte 1.3, 1.25, 1.2 herunterzugehen (durch Swipen).

Missing podcast
Can’t find The Latin America History podcast, found it on apple podcast, apotify apps Paid for that podcast, not there- wish I could be refunded
Decent but buggy
It's decent and I've used it for years (since its competitors adopted the subscription model). The strength of this one is the granularity of the controls for each podcast. Very useful. But it's easy to get lost in so many settings. The CarPlay module is terrible. It almost never works, and to use it at all you have to open the app on your phone first. It should be marked as an experimental feature and disabled by default. Apart from that it's generally fine. There are a few longstanding bugs that occur occasionally but I've reported them several times and the dev hasn't responded or fixed them, so I consider them permanent. The biggest issue with this one is that you can't simply play podcast episodes in chronological order. You have to play them backwards (latest first) or one at a time, or arduously add the whole thing to the playlist, which means you can't use the playlist for its intended function anymore. For that reason I use Apple Podcasts more now, as it's just less of a headache.
Probleme nach dem Update
Seit dem letzten Update findet der Player keine neuen Podcastfolgen mehr bei mir, zusätzlich ist das Blinken der der abonnierten Podcasts beim Updateversuch zwar eine nette Designspielerei aber alles andere als übersichtlich.
Mise à jour catastrophique
J’adore cette application mais la dernière mise à jour n’est pas au point. Beaucoup de bugs, des fonctionnalités pas intuitives, je regrette la version précédente mais à un point. J’espère une mise à jour très prochainement pour plus de confort d’utilisation et une amélioration générale. Cette application reste ma préférée en matière de podcasts mais là je souffre pour la comprendre tout simplement. Je ne doute pas que ça va arriver 😊

Been using iCatcher for several years, I've tried others but none compare. If you want total control over your podcast listening experience, this is the only serious contender.

Je précise tout d’abord que j’ai payé pour ce player tellement je le trouvais bon. Ça fait plus d’un an que cet excellente app ne permet plus de s’abonner aux nouveaux podcasts au moins de France Culture, france inter et d’autres indés. J’ai vérifié avec d’autres apps et ça marche ailleurs. C donc bien un problème d’icatcher. Dommage car, d’un point de vue UI et ergo, je le trouve le meilleur.

Great organisation of podcast feeds. But it needs a “RECENTLY PLAYED” function! Apart from that, I love the refresh function that quickly searches for latest episodes.
Viele nervige Probleme
Läuft stabil, aber es gibt viele kleine und große Probleme. Podcasts werden einfach gelöscht, wenn man sie gehört hat. "Manchmal" schlafe ich beim Hören ein und will einen Teil nochmal hören. Innerhalb der playlists kann man die Reihenfolge der Podcasts nur programmieren (älteste über neueren usw.), aber man kann die Episoden nicht einfach manuell per Drag and Drop in eine Reihenfolge bringen. In der Ansicht mit den Kapitelmarken kann man nicht scrollen, sondern nur hart zu Kapitelanfang springen. Der Menü Button für sleepmode ist winzig - wenn ich den zu erwischen versuche, bin ich meist schon müde und hätte gern ein komfortableres Knöpfchen. Ab und zu speichert iCatcher! eine falsche soundspur und spielt dann nicht unter dem Podcastbildchen einfach einen anderen Podcast. Konnte den Fehler schon zweimal reproduzieren. Nur weil der wechsel ein gewisser Aufwand ist, bin ich nicht bei Overcast, einer weitaus besseren und kostenfreien App.
Marvellous but having problems
This is a great podcast app which still gets regularly updated, have used it for years and very happy with it Having an issue recently with the audio stopping when opening other apps and sometimes when the phone locks , it didn’t used to and other audio apps don’t have the same issue, it’s still happening and I have tried everything looking for a solution to fix it, months later it’s still broken just stops playing all the time, when the phone locks or when opening a lot of apps having to listen on other apps ☹️
The best podcast app just got better
V15.0 bring UI changes and, most importantly, transcription. I've been using this app for many, many, years, it's unreservedly a 5 star app and by far the best and most customisable podcast player. Thank you devs!

CarPlay distorted
Since iOS 26, the audio over CarPlay has been distorted. An email to the developer went unanswered. Since I don’t want to use two podcast apps, icatcher becomes unusable for me.
Awful Syncing Across Devices
Good functionality otherwise, but between my phone and iPad the syncing is horrendous compared to other apps. Some episodes appear, others don’t. Some podcasts don’t sync at all.

From great to disappointment
Ingen podspelare har bättre funktioner. Om och när de fungerar är en annan sak. With the latest iOs (but not on the latest hardware) iCatcher works so tragically bad that a refund should be offered! Vid varje uppdatering de senaste åren är det någon funktionalitet som slutat fungera som den ska. Ingen som helst kvalitetskontroll vid release. Appen var som allra bäst innan den anpassades för Apple Watch!!! Ett problem senaste tiden är att appen verkar samla statistik om användningen. Seg respons (1s- 40s !) och lång väntetid vid uppstart. Av någon anledning är uppstarten snabbare om iPhone inte är online... 1. Kan bryta mot GDPR. Någon borde anmäla utvecklaren. 2. Appen kraschar ofta (t.ex. när man fyller bufferten med ”knapptryck” under tiden som appen inte svarar, vilket appen alltså inte gör i de senaste versionerna).
Great on iPhone but issue on watch
Great user experience on iPhone but have trouble getting the podcasts to upload smoothly to the watch. Seems only uploading when the podcast is playing on iPhone, once stopped, uploading to watch will stop as well
Sehr mächtige Podcast App mit viel zu vielen Abstürzen
Leider muss ich mein früheres Urteil über iCatcher revidieren. Mittlerweile stürzt die App ständig ab. Ich benötige jedes Mal 5–10 Anläufe (= Abstürze), bevor ein Podcast mal stabil läuft. Den Funktionsumfang finde ich nach wie vor hervorragend, aber leider macht die Nutzung keinen Spaß mehr. Eine sehr traurige Entwicklung! 😕
Stürzt auf mehreren Geräten ab
Ich nutze die App seit über 10 Jahren und war bis vor einem halben Jahr sehr zufrieden. Das honorierte ich mit Spenden von Thank you Tips, über Big Thank You Tips über Really Big Thank You Tip bis Enormous Tip. Leider stürzte die App seit ca. einem halben Jahr auf mehreren Geräten ab, nachdem man ca. 2 Minuten lang das Display ausgeschaltet hat. Wenn man die App dann noch einmal startet, stürzt sie an dem Tag nicht mehr ab. Es könnte etwas mit der Synchronisation zu tun haben. Ich hatte auch schon mit iCloudSync und den Download-Optionen ohne Erfolg herumgespielt. Ab heute benutze ich diese App nicht mehr, weil mich das zu oft nervt. Alternativ nutze jetzt die PodcastApp von Apple, die sich stark verbessert hat. Ich werde iCatcher! noch nicht löschen und will der App nach einiger Zeit noch einmal eine Chance geben. Ich wünsche dem Entwickler noch viel Erfolg. Die App selbst ist hervorragend. Aber wegen der vielen Abstürze kann ich aktuell nur 3 Sterne statt 5 Sterne vergeben. Liebe Grüße

Broken now
Only all I have that started almost perfect and got worse with each update. Now unusable. Latest break: importing OPML doesn’t work. Good luck adding your 70 podcasts individually on a new phone.

Worket great up to now!
The latest update seems to mess all names of the podcast up to the maximum. Names end after either space or any Skandinavian character as åäöÅÄÖ! This makes it inpossible to understand in many cases. Sorry to see a good app go this way! Quality testing = zero?
Powerful
I have been using iCatcher for last few years and have not been disappointed. The updates keeps coming and the app keeps improving. However, the visual appearance has a lot to desire and is in need of refresh. I am also not a huge fan of the app icon. It does not do justice to the functionality of the app. I hope Joe swings the magic wand and brings a bit of eye candy to this great app.

Nachdem die Pocket Casts Apple Watch App mir Pocket Casts ein bisschen vermiest hat mir iCatcher eigentlich mit am besten als Ersatz gefallen. Allerdings sind da drei Sachen die mich dann doch bei PocketCasts gehalten haben: - der Player verhaspelt sich bei bestimmten Folgen. Eine bestimmte Passage die in meinem bisherigen Player nach 1 St. 59 Min. kommt taucht hier bei 1 St. 54 Min auf. Gut soll mir eigentlich egal sein. Aber dann kommt die gleiche Stelle 5 Minuten später nochmal? Ohne das ich nachvollziehen kann wie und warum dieser Fehler auftritt. - selbst erstellte Playlists sind nötig um sich über neue Folgen zu informieren und den Hörverlauf mit einer up next Liste im Auge zu behalten Eine vordefinierte Playlist für neue Folgen, heruntergeladene Folgen und Folgen in Progress wäre hier sinnvoll gewesen. Die Playlists die voreingestellt sind taugen überhaupt nichts. - der gravierendste Punkt aber: die Notifications: wenn die App nach neuen Folgen sucht wird nur angezeigt „1 new Episode“ Aber halt leider nicht welche neue Episode. Warum kann hier nicht wie bei anderen Apps die gefundene Folge je Podcast bei dem ich das aktiviert habe angezeigt werden? ich kann mir das mit einer Playlist einigermaßen basteln aber halt nicht schön und das sollte ja eigentlich eine Grundfunktion der App sein. Wenn das korrigiert werden würde würde ich sofort wechseln. Das Player Problem wird aber vermutlich nicht so einfach zu beheben sein, weil es kaum auftritt .
Nerdily awesome
The developer website says “The apps I build are the things I like, so hopefully you will too." I do like it, very much. Every other podcast app I’ve used (and I’ve tried a lot) is rubbish - RUBBISH - at syncing to an Apple Watch. iCatcher! just works. And as a bonus, it can play through the watch speaker. I didn’t think that was possible on my Apple Watch 8 but it is and it’s so useful. Thanks Joe - great app 😁
Slow download
Dowload is VERY slow when I use wifi. But if I use the 3G antenna, it's faster. My wifi connection is very good, with my iphone I can reach 80mb/s... i think the app is badly designed for the wifi download

Leider seit zwei Versionen häufige Abstürze bei CarPlay
Hey ich nutze die App seit sehr langer Zeit. Leider stürzt sie seit zwei Versionen und dem letzten iOS Update im Fahrzeug bei Nutzung von CarPlay (im VW) nach 5-15 Minuten ab. Das kann auf längeren Fahrten schon sehr nerven !

Fully featured but bad UI

Great potential, but fails to deliver...
This is by far the best looking, best navigable and easy to use podcast app out there right now. Alas, it has a tendency to quit and there is no way (that I could find) to (re)load older files from a feed. This for me makes the app next to useless, since I'm doing a language course and generally prefer to start with the first lesson. (The app starts with the newest files, so when it stalls, the older ones haven't been loaded yet.) If these issues are fixed, then I believe this app will blow any of it's current competition out of the water. Right now, however, it's just an app with great potential, which -for now- fails to deliver. Let's wait and see if this will be remedied with the next update. If so, then it will definitely be getting full marks from me.
