Thumbs up
The last unbiased news outlet left in Canada. Reporting regularly on actual news in an unbiased capacity
CNN of the North
The post Fake News
Very good app
Need better sharing abilities to share on your favorite plateform. You need to recopy manually the title of the article
Buggy, lacking features
Am forced to sign in multiple times/day. No feature to save articles or allowance to share articles with non subscribers. Can do both on Globe & Mail app.
A bit over the top.
This is not a measured publication, but one more in the British style of attack dogs on anything liberal. It's not a balanced view point. There are good journalist here, you just have to hunt and peck for it.
Great Content
Enjoying the new online subscription immensely
Ads but no access
The app is full of ads that you see but there is no access to any articles without subscription. What’s the point? There should be some free content given the ads. It is a right leaning newspaper.
Download occ pop up
What the heck is download occ? Is this a virus or hack?
Slower Than A Turtle
I much prefer the content of National Post but the loading of content is slower than a turtle. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app several times and no change. The top sectional loads in a somewhat reasonable time (compared to a 256k modem) but the other sections below just show Loading Context. It’s painful. Financial Post is the same
Home page resets to top, no indication of viewed articles
After reading an article and clicking the navigation arrow in the app to return to the previous home page, it always resets or automatically scrolls up to the top of the page instead of staying where I was in the feed. Annoying to have to scroll down through headlines to get back to where I was. Indication of previously read articles would be helpful. Also I agree with others that the app randomly signs me out frequently.
UX/UI
It’s surprising to me that there is no search on the phone app. Also when I see an article on Twitter that I like and click on it for some reason, it doesn’t remember my username and password and I have to go to the app and find the article. Impossible. For a 21 century news organization this is unacceptable.
Read to me
Why does the National Post have such a poor read to me feature the global mail basically will read every article to you with a good voice and very clear allocution. The National Post read to me feature is frankly a disaster and I can’t use it because it works so inconsistently and unsatisfactory.
No access to comments
Why should I subscribe. I want to support this paper but comments are blocked on the app. I need to go to Google news to view.

Searching for truthful Journalism
Been a wapo, Star reader for years & am disappointed in how journalists only write THEIR personal opinions..NOT the truth!! So hoping the journalism with NP is like what used to be written..the TRUTH! Fingers crossed! So far not bad!
Frozen
This is the worst app on my phone. Often freezes, sometimes even the phone. I cancelled a subscription early 2024. A $20 offer for a year tempted a new subscription but alas - got what I paid for.
Anyone There?
Content is good but the app??? I get a notification that it needs updating on iPad, iPhone poor Maybe they are closing their online door. Maybe MetroNews bought them I am Out
Landscape view
Only has portrait mode why no landscape view when rotated
iPad app horrible
Doesn’t load
Brutal Customer Support
Can’t sign in to the app. Have sent multiple emails to “app support”, “customer service”, even “marketing”…no response from anyone. Paid my money, can’t fully use the app, can’t get a reply…nice business model. On top of that, the app layout is wretched and ads are riddled throughout. It’s a dog’s breakfast…what a mess.
Not good
App is very bulky. Seems like I’m on the national post website. Swipe controls are missing to go and forth on articles. Menu is too cluttered. Needs to be redone and trimmed.
Good journalism, but…
App has lengthy ad prior to opening home page. It’s also extremely slow to scroll through articles. Journalism is very good.
National Post still believes in old fashioned journalism
Particularly when reporting on the Middle East, the National Post is not afraid to provide context, to give background information to give enough facts so that a full picture emerges rather than mindlessly pandering to the left, which is what most legacy media does, among them, CBC, BBC, the Guardian, the New York Times, and yes,the Globe and Mail. Thank you, National Post.
Possibly the worst app I’ve ever used.
This is definitely the worst news app I have ever used. It’s possibly the worst app I’ve ever used. I can’t read stories on it on either of my phones without it freezing my phone.
A bloated slow app
What a pain to use this app. It’s slow and hangs - who knows why but I guess due to ad loading. It’s actually not a good looking app and a slow browsing and reading experience.
Landscape not working is a bigger irritant than you might think….
You need to get this fixed.
App is a problem
I can’t necessarily sign in on my iPad. It works in the National Post, but not in the Financial Post. Financial Post says it can’t verify my subscription. It’s a pain to do any reading.
Bad App
I can’t sign it! It’s just a spinning wheel when I type in my email address. Contact form doesn’t work either
Poor app
I like the articles and the journalism but the app is abysmal. Takes forever to load stories and no dark mode option. Ads all over the place even though I am paying. Would also be nice to have option of articles read by AI like other news apps. It’s a poor reflection on a great newspaper.
Can’t sign in
I’ve subscribed to the National Post for years. Recently, I wound up paying significantly more for the app, but have access to more editions which is nice. It doesn’t help that every time I want to read an article, the content is blocked and signing in is not possible because of the unending revolving circle. Same result when trying to sign in on the website. Zero value for my money! This really needs to be fixed and quickly. My subscription expires Sept 8. I will be canceling if this is not fixed by then.
Deeply frustrating
This app frequently logs me out of my subscription, then tells me I don't have one, then randomly I regain access. How can you expect me to support this paper if I can't read what I pay for?
Website is better
Nearly all content is paywalled in the app but the same articles are free to read on the website.
Awesome app.
Simple to use. Excellent reading.
I want this app to be good
It’s got a fatal error where you cannot sign up. Every article requires you to be signed in but when you try, it fails. Had to delete it.
Needs to be fixed
I enjoy the National Post but this app needs some work… most annoying as now I can only read it in portrait view… it used to rotate but not any more. Please fix this.
National Post App
Best news app by far!
Worst news app out there
Most frustrating app ever. Known issues for YEARS still not fixed. Keeps asking over and over again to sign in. Then sign in, IF it even works, does not auto fill sign in credentials. Redundant stories show up several times. News updates are very slow, especially on weekends where all they do is rearrange the order of the stories to make it appear there are changes No landscape mode No response from support
Latest update broke it again
I have subscribed to the Post since it started, but this app is a major disappointment. I like the easy access to the different Post Media papers, but the layout is not really user friendly. The latest update now only works in portrait mode on my iPad; it used to auto rotate between landscape and portrait - that’s a major annoyance.
