Never Available
Recently it’s constantly downloading settings and never actually available to use. Completely useless.

Forced updates
Forced updates are too frequent and offer little in actual value added. If there are new products now displayed on the mobile app then there would be more positives to say about the app, but that is not the case
Still a few things to improve on…
In this day and age, we still can’t use this app to trade electronically? Also, when we input a search term, the results should be highlighted in yellow like what it is on the actual Bloomberg terminal app on PC.

Missing useful functions
Missing basic functions such as GC and OMON just to mention a few. Not customizable enough if compared to the computer terminal. For example on stocks, it’s not possible to order the sub-tabs so that I can put first the ones I use most. Financial Analysis is at the very end on the right which requires scrolling right each time I use it, which compounds to a lot of time lost.
Bad updates
Overall solid for checking news, but really need to reinstate the sort/filter function for research reports. Made no sense to take that out. Otherwise, would’ve been a 4-5 star review.
BBG on the go
I can use IB and MSG without having to log in on the computer! News with alerts are great so I can see article titles on the locked screen, my preferred setting for all news apps, so I can click on the ones I want to read. Latest markets info is there, securities I search on the terminal show up as recent ones on the app and my favorites are saved. It’s great when I’m on the road, running around between meetings (okay, sometimes during meetings) and on evenings/weekends without cutting into my free time like it would otherwise. So glad my teammate showed me how to use it!
Please make better
It’s so bad I have to use yahoo finance app for basic mobile watch lists and perplexity for most other basic things. Main current functionality is IB, alerts, and PORT. BBG please make better. Also how isn’t there an AI query…

Not complete terminal functionality, but large availability of useful functions.
Worksheets
How do I delete securities from my worksheet? I see there is an edit button on the top right but the security list doesn’t show up as an option. Also, when I add the securities I need they show up at the bottom of the worksheet with so much space in between.
Getting there
The app is great for some things (IB and news in particular) but has inexplicable feature gaps. It’d be great if it could support EMSX, provide more fixed income functions, and generally continue to move in the direction of making more of the terminal accessible on the go.
Perfect on M1 MacBook Air
This is a great option for Bloomberg Profesional on a M1 MacBook Air since there is no native install. Any chance you will approve this for a native download as post 11.3? Thanks again!
Unnecessary updates now incompatible with some devices
Because my phone lacks sufficient storage to download the newest IOS, I can now no longer use the Bloomberg app. This is unacceptable. There should obviously be an option to use the legacy version in this instance.

Can’t believe I have to report this
But I will get a notification for a new sec filing for a company. Then click it and I can’t see it. And there isn’t a link to it. Then I scroll down to company filings and it’s not there also. Even after double checking the forms.

App Improvements
Excellent APP if you haven’t leveraged it for new communication feature in past 6 months you should do so. A lot of great new feature available
New version ruined research viewer
Can’t filter on primary ticker, Bloomberg’s PDF viewer often loads with error “no content to display)

Portfolio
Need gain loss for a set period. On the iPad version need also the link to radio.
Good for quick things, but weak for credit investors
Good app for IB, news on the go and basic market level tracking. Unless I’m missing something, I’ve found no credit oriented screens with functionally like on the terminal (CAST, YAS, HOAS, QR, QMGR, x credit CF) to name a few.
Great for Research and Preset Monitors
Can update research notes, access street research and also navigate through other offerings much easier than past versions. Doesn’t have all the functions of the terminal, but pretty great for monitoring names while traveling, accessing news and saving down documents to IPad or IPhone that allow you to read them offline. Thanks BBG developer team!
UI team needs to resign
Trading off functionality over simplicity makes Bloomberg app completely useless.
Great, with in thing missing
I’ve mentioned this idea a few times to our Bloomberg account rep, the app needs to have the Most Active function which is a valuable tool on the desktop program to see what stocks are moving within indices, stock screens, etc.
Android version lacks functionality
Bloomberg on my Samsung tablet does not allow me to look up security details. For ex, when I tap “Securities”, I cannot enter a ticker symbol to see security details such as last price, market cap, news, etc. This functionality is available on my iPhone, but not on my Samsung tablet. Ive been hoping that newer Android versions would correct this glitch, but I’ve waited 3 years and I’ve had no luck. don’t see an option to enter a ticket
No Search function
The Search function no longer works. It’s now an ‘Unsupported Tab’

Terrible
I can no longer export/share research pdfs. One MUST view them in the terrible Bloomberg pdf viewer. Bring back this functionality or I will have to replace my entire mobile workflow with AlphaSense, which will mean I’ll be using bberg solely for IB. terrible design decision shame on you app developer.
When can I log in Bloomberg terminal using IOS version Bloomberg app?
One thing that often let me feel disappointed is to sync BUnit when I need work remote. I would like to have the way Interactivebrokers verify the authentication through IPhone fingerprints.
Could be way better
Why they haven't added a yas or other pricing page for corporate bonds is beyond me and would greatly improve functionality. Also why no trace? These can't be that difficult As other users have noted the "updates" are all pretty useless. They continually improve things on the margin like notes - does anyone use notes? IB notifications now stack on the lock screen but there's no way to see beyond the last one received

Does not work on ios 15 anymore
Forced updates and breaking device support is a peculiar strategy for a product that costs more than a manhattan studio.
No support from iPhone
Improvements keep rolling in but too many bugs come with it. Hyperlinks to full story in message have disappeared in the latest November release. Very odd that there's no support mechanism in place from iPhone.

Re-Order in Securities
There should be the ability to re-order and prioritize what information comes up on equity securities. The idea that ESG, as a large block, should come before a company’s financials is odd and that should be up to the user, not Bloomberg. Different users care about different things, and prioritization should be up to the user. Push alerts are also terrible! “Larry Summers says…” comes up more than anything (although we are now getting a lot of Bill Gross says…”). I don’t care what those guys are saying as a push alert. Most don’t. And yet I can’t seem to get a push alert on the type of information that I would prefer, which is quick hit information that is data driven. Killing the Larry Summers says and going more toward data driven information alerts would be better for the users.
Good start, room to improve
First off, this apps is not for you if you are not already a bloomberg anywhere customer. That out of the way, my benchmark is the blackberry version that I regularly use. This version is very nice by comparison. There are two modes. One, you log into using your bloomberg id. From there you can log into a citrix-like bloomberg anywhere where you can see your familiar screen real estate from a regular bloomberg session. You're warned not to do this with a 3G connection. I found that I can live with the first mode but noted a few alpha software type glitches. When reconfiguring the panels for the front screen the whole app fails to launch. I've tried two versions but the only fix is a re install. I complained on bbg chat "help help" that the chat functions were only available in the terminal login mode. They told me they were working on adding this feature to the main screen. Pros: looks nice, lots of screen real estate Cons: not as stable as the blackberry version (yet) and no chat functionality without the high bandwidth terminal login
