- Constant errors and bugs appear
Basic functionality is broken.
Can’t even set your location. I always get this error “位置を選択し直してください”. Yes, my location settings are set to “Always” and “Precise Location.” Is this app still being developed?
If I have family in Japan I must pay to get the alerts in the USA…
I feel we should be permitted to use two locations for free, rather than just one… I have had to rely off NHK app to give the earthquake notifications when I am not in Japan… I would like to keep up with my family without having to pay. Yurekuru Call was much better when I could set my home location rather than use my current location only… I’m very disappointed.
What happened?
It worked great but recently it goes off for intensity 0 quakes anywhere in Japan. This was not always the case. Please please please update, I will have to delete it if it keeps blowing up and scaring me like that.
Terrible update ruined this app
I would be fine with continuing to pay the monthly fee for the old Yurekuru, but PREP is all but useless. Of course it needs English, but even beyond that as a Japanese app, it’s not at all intuitive or easy to use. One star for sleeker look. Can we have Yurekuru back, please?
Fixed!
☆UPDATE☆ Notification error fixed! Thanks. サンキュー 笑 --- Latest version (2.3.2) says it can't send notifications, but everything is turned on in Notification Center for it. Please fix.
New name
I can’t figure out how to change the new PREP app to English.
Unacceptable
It’s been long time since the app changed and thousands of us still waiting for English support. Why change the app before you had it finished!!
Nice
Even if a registered keitai gets the warning slightly before (due to push relative slowness) this is great since we know if it worth to get under cover or just ignore it...
English version removed?
The app worked well for me but the new release (Prep 4.0) does not seem to have an English version.
No English
Bring back the English otherwise this app is worthless to me.
English ?
Where's the English translation for American use?
Eigo
Eigo kudasai!!!!
Version 4.0.8 : Error
Only get error message when trying to use version 4.0.8. Maybe it is about time and hire real developpers.
Not as useful
The English language support is gone with the app renewal and rebranding. A lot of other things I used and enjoyed about Yurekuru Call are also gone along with it. There are probably better weather/disaster alert system apps out there for Japan if you want something simple and in many languages. RIP, Yurekuru Call ;–;
Too many alerts
I tried to change my alert settings so that I would only be warned of shaking of level 3 and above, but for some reason the setting doesn't save. Thus, after the Kumamoto 6.4-mag earthquake, I received constant notifications in Tokyo of every aftershock even though nothing was felt in Tokyo. Unfortunately this led to me deleting the app from my phone.
Useless
Since this app changed from Yurekuru, it has become completely useless. Constant notifications counting down faraway earthquakes, no notification or updated information when there actually is an earthquake, constant error messages, etc. Absolutely awful. If you’re not going to do it right, maybe creating an app isn’t for you?
Was better before "Premium" version
I have used this app for a long time and purchased the no ads and multiple locations options. Now RC Solutions thought it is better to pay a monthly fee for the "premium" version which does the same as my previous paid add-ons. There is even "High Speed Delivery". The only problem is that now the notification come slow or later than before. If you say it is a "Premium" subscription service then make sure your "Premium" services are working correctly. Definitely a step backward.
Not working quite right
I've had this application for several years and it always gave me a warning for quakes in my area, just as it should. Lately, though, it's been alerting me about every quake of any size from anywhere in Japan. It started maybe a week ago and I'm tired of it lighting up my phone all the time and scaring me for no reason. I don't want to start ignoring it and then miss a warning I need. I even turned off notifications and it still comes. Please fix this so I can get only mine. There was a quake I felt last week and it didn't even pop up on the list until 10 or 15 minutes later, making me think I was crazy and just feeling things that didn't happen. Please please fix these issues.
Useful Warning System
It's a pretty solid app that gives you as much warning as possible before an earthquake. I paid the extra money to add additional locations because the sensors nearest to me don't always pick up the earthquakes that you end up feeling. It's nice to be able to add locations. I also like that you can set the sensitivity of the alarms you set - I want to be warned for bigger earthquakes, not the little ones, so this makes a lot of sense. It's an intuitive app, and I like it!
Dumbest decision ever
It was a great simple app. Now it’s garbage. Like lots of things in Japan, this new change doesn’t make any sense. You lost your users. Congratulations now you are a forgotten app. Deleted. Let’s find another app for earthquakes. So stupid. Incredible.
Doesn't alert me
Most of the time it doesn't send me earthquake alerts even though my wife will receive them fine on her iPhone. My setup is correct and set to the correct region, etc.
New Version = smiley faces?
We got a bit of a Jolt tonight in Kanto. Didn't get a warning this time. But I could choose a smiley face, and that's what really matters in an emergency. Assuming I didn't get a warning because my settings were wiped with the update and I didn't think to check it. So hopefully I'll get a warning before the next one. The quality of English is somewhat lower with this newer version. Just a few things like "be quake?" Or "don't purchased." I will change my rating once I see it works properly.
It's for real
I read about this app in A Tale for the Time Being and wow here it is so amazing and it's a lovely app as well 10/10 five stars hands down wow
English
I did not download the new version; it updated itself. So now, of course, I cannot access anything in English and I cannot get the old version back.
Notification problem
Was recommended this app by a friend. however, after the recent update, I am no longer able to receive push notifications.
Notifications not working?
I'm having the same problem as above...app tells me when I open it that I do not have push notifications enabled, even though I do. I've had the app for about 2 months, and this has just started happening in the past week.
