Great news
From James Greenwald great articles Mr Goold is the best👍⚾️
Cost of newspaper went up. I understand why. Quality of newspaper is down. Way down.
Same as title.
Useful but Needs some improvement
The app version of the Post-Dispatch has some nifty features. I really like the extra photographs that accompany many articles. The font is easy to read, for the most part. Organization is idiosyncratic sometimes. Articles I’d expect to see in opinion, say, simply don’t appear, like the nationally sourced columnists. While the app version is easy enough to navigate, it lacks a comment feature. Readers must use the web browser version to do that. Also, the app contains too many ads for the price of the subscription.
I want STL news, but this app is not good
I am struggling to understand why this news app has been so bad for so long, especially because there are lots of examples of better ways to present a newspaper.
Dark mode, no autoplay
Please add dark mode and turn off auto play on video options.
Overall, a Good App!
There are a couple minor quibbles ( the Crop button, and the display size) but it is really solid other than that!
Sports Section
Getting all sports scores and box scores 2 days after the event is simply not at all good and very unprofessional. Do you realize people like and enjoy reading about their teams the Day/Morning after the Event??? Get your Act Together-Please….
I’m Back!
Been gone for a few years, but gotta great new price so I might stick around. Just wondering, however, can I look at comments from the phone version of this app?
Review STL post dispatch
It still seems unorganized. Remembering being told after the hack that things would get better, but I don’t see it. Sections are all over the place, repeated stories. Mostly disappointed in sports. Might as well do away with it since I have to go elsewhere to find out what happened last night.
Baseball Standings
Noticed recently that the e edition does not list the current days slated games and starting pitchers - rather it lists the prior days games, which is useless as those games have already been played. I understand that the night games can no longer have the scores listed due to the print deadline but surely the next day’s games are known well in advance as are the vast majority of the starting pitchers prior to print deadline. Thanks for your consideration.
Cardinals 2011
I’ve always been a huge cardinal fan and I live in Peoria Illinois. I always wanted to read about the cardinals in the St. Louis post dispatch. So I’m excited to try it for the 1st time!!!
Poor Apps
Once again content is not available! Can’t you fix this issue. Am I the only one who has this problem?
Okay
It’s good to have this available when either 1) the newspaper is late, or 2) when the newspaper isn’t delivered. Yes. It happens often enough.
The e-edition is disappointingly hard to read
The app crashed when redirecting me to write a review, so I sought to leave this feedback… I am thankful to read reporting from our region and I loved that they offered a version that is typeset just like a physical newspaper. In fact it was a major selling point for me. This changed, however, e-edition app was rebranded a year or two ago. Now the app will return to the full screen after I zoom to make the text a comfortable size. This leads to a constant and infuriating battle with the app as I try to get the day’s news. Clicking on the article is a slight improvement, however the 3 text options also make it difficult to get the text to a comfortable size, constant insertion of ads make me love my place or result in an accidental touch. The software used to reformat the article struggles to place pull quotes, emphasize sub headed sections, and does not embed the photos where they should be. If any devs are reading this- please fix the e-edition zoom issue! It is all that I really want from this app (to have an electronic newspaper!). This problem with that feature has been enough for me to consider cancelling my subscription.
No longer local
To many out of state articles Sports coverage nor current Comics section is terrible, only 3 or 4 worth reading
Not free news app
Great
Zero Restaurant Listings
There is not a list or link for participating restaurants.
Article sharing
I would like to be able to share articles free as a subscriber, as I do on many other platforms. That would make this a 5 star site.
Repetition
Some pages are repeated on the same day with one or two articles different. Some pages are repeated on different days. Why are we shown these pages more than once?
Frustration
As a whole, I enjoy reading the news through the Post Dispatch app. I am frustrated because when I get emails with story briefs or headlines and I click on them to read, I get a pop-up that says I need a subscription to continue to read, but I have a subscription. And you’re sending the email to me. That’s frustrating. And then there are several podcasts that are going through the Post Dispatch. I know you’ve recently said to be able to listen to them you must have a subscription and I do have a subscription, but I can’t listen to them or I just get the mini two minute version to be edited. The fact that it’s not seamless is very frustrating. I don’t expect it to be free, but if I’m paying the going rate that you’re asking of me, I shouldn’t have difficulty accessing content. It makes me question. Should I continue being a subscriber. Sometimes it gets annoying.
To Your Good Health
Dr. Roach’s advice is invaluable. He always gets to the heart of the matter and he “covers the waterfront.” He is so knowledgeable and expresses himself beautifully. Thank you for having his column.
Caution If You Already Subscribe To The Post-Dispatch
If you already get the on-line version of the Post-Dispatch. Downloading this app may end up costing you $25.99 a month. Check your Apple subscriptions after you download the app. I caught it 2 months ago after I downloaded the app.
The Liberal Post
Just a bunch of fake news, and local liberals spewing non-truths and way over-priced! You got voted out in November!
Comment Section
I enjoy the Post app, but I wish the app provided access to the Comments to the articles.
Good App for News
The STL Today app does an excellent job of delivering the news. The e-edition of the printed paper is a nice option for those who like the format. The paper itself continues to be well done, though it’s smaller than it used to be. Highly recommend the app version!
Worst Newspaper App
Why does the Post Dispatch continue their DIY approach to their app? It just doesn’t work very well. I pay $25.99 per month for the Post Dispatch. What I get is a dose of the Post Dispatch’s addiction to pop up ads. The expectations for this year’s Cardinals team is poor, mostly because of a decline in revenue - there is little reason to continue for the Cardinals’ coverage. Maybe it’s time for the Post Dispatch to suffer a decline in my revenue.
Articles not loading
Since updating to iOS 18, some stories don’t load when clicking on them. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern as to which stories will load, and which won’t. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app without any success in correcting the problem. That’s a shame because I used to enjoy the access the app gave me to the news.
Too liberal, but only option for STL news
Not surprised, but disappointed at the singular anti-conservative drumbeat from editors and columnists. This anti-Republican focus would be more tolerable if SLPD featured columnists who provide competing arguments and perspectives. In the end, if I want more extensive St. Louis area news I’m forced to subscribe.
Enjoy Daily StL Area News
I used to subscribe to the paper but the e-paper is terrific and the App is continually adding and updating stories. Terrific writers, especially those on Blues and Cardinals beats.
I just want to read the sports page
30 bucks a month for a digital local newspaper app? Nope.
Crashes and navigation not easy
You get the sense they don’t really care that it crashed and it is so clumsy to navigate
Frequently have to log back in
The only issue I have with this app, is it forces me to log back in almost daily. This has been going on for quite some time now. Doesn’t occur with any of my other apps. The face recognition login doesn’t work.
Editorial bias
Editorials are so bias toward Republicans and conservatives. It is sickening. There must be something the Republicans are doing the right thing. Reading your paper since 1969.
Too expensive for an electronic newspaper
Too expensive for an electronic newspaper for what you get.
Pain in the neck
Endless, intrusive advertising and frequent reloading make this app difficult to use. It is my hometown newspaper and I would use it more than I do but for the aggravation.
Sports
I am from Canada and I enjoy the Sports section very much. The coverage of the Blues and the Cardinals is outstanding! Keep up the great work. Cheers!
Terrible app filled with paywalls
Terrible horrible awful app. Every story requires a subscription. Subscription prices are absurd. And if you want an actual paper delivered to your house, it’s not gonna happen. Just a useless app
Terrible
This app does not work consistently on my ipad. It either won’t update to the current day e-edition (which I pay for) or just sits and spins until I shut down and restart. NO other app I use behaves like this.
My go to source for St.Louis Blues news coverage!
I live in Canada and am grateful to have access to such coverage of the Blues.
Worst newspaper app ever
I subscribe to four newspapers and visit many others. The Post Dispatch app is by far the worst newspaper app I visit and quite possibly the worst overall app on the planet that charges subscription fees. The app Constantly requires a re login, articles don’t load or have missing links, tons of articles from newspaper are not on the app and stories are often days old. Literally junk. I don’t understand how this business doesn’t scrap this app and start over. Obviously they are losing money and don’t feel it’s worth the cost or effort, just as they don’t seem willing to pay for actual journalists? Good luck with that strategy as you continue to turn off customers and swirl around the drain. Once my promotional subscription is over I won’t even think of paying the full rate for this garbage.
Clocking
Love the app; I’m a subscriber. Unfortunately, too often lately I open the app only to have it “clock” continuously or the screen freezes…
