Kicked out
I like the concept of this game, however, it’s very much pay to win, and has a hard time keeping up with demand. I started the fastnet with a full pack, but when it really mattered, I kept getting booted out of the game, so I couldn’t tack or change sails sometimes until hours later, after I ran aground, or sailed many miles off course. More frustration than the game is worth.
Fun game but ..
Biggest bug is that it repeatedly takes the purchase of the Full pack but doesn’t deliver it, apple don’t refund and then a long process to claim the refund. Sort it out VR. Also, needs tides and more realistic polars for the foil boats (top speed 23kts!).

Complete Fail
Tried to download the full extension pack three times the night before the vendee globe race and it failed every time. Apple refunded two of the attempts but stiffed me on my third. I’m done. Their scalability problem shouldn’t cost me money. Buyer beware.
Take Part in the Action
This game has come a long way since I first tried it and is a great compliment to the Vendee Race. My only problem with it is the lack of instructions or maybe the that I havn't been able to find them. It is also clunky to enter, you have to play guess which button to press to get to the game.
Do not give these people your money.
I made the mistake of paying these people for an annual VIP subscription. Not only is the game glitchy but the so called “Priority” support is non-existent. Don’t make the same mistake I did and stick to free.
Buggy
The app unfortunately has a few bugs in it. Purchases often fail, and now I’m nervous to buy anything because Apple is denying refunds.
The game does not work on iPhone
The game used to work. This new update in September 2024 broke everything. Stay away until it is proven to work. Bug report option does not let you submit. Race ranking only shows all status, team or friend or yacht club do not allow selection as those options show on top of boats ranked. So when you try to select another group you get information about the boat that is shown under the overlay. It does not seem the game is designed for the phone any longer, the screen colors make it hard to read messages and the screen layout also makes it hard to read.

Overalll it’s great, only changes I’d like are; variations in weather map, more detailed description of rules of course, more info in general concerning events within the game and real events would be interesting. Offshore racing isn’t easy to keep up with in general this is a good platform to educate us on it. But, this is more of a wish list than anything being “wrong” Challenging Interesting game, it’s literally the only game I play. Be ready to consistently check status of your boat throughout the day/days to make course adjustments. But it only takes a second to update so isn’t difficult to maintain, best to allow notifications especially at first, in case go wrong, I’d almost like more complexity concerning weather/sea conditions, however that might make it too much to keep up with and would make learning curve at beginning possibly a bit much, as is lots of people contributing to each race which is good.

The last update was not tested. All is broken. Lots of UI issues.
Won’t Load
Love the game and have been playing for a couple years. Just completed the last update and can no longer load in. It prompts me with “Caution: Reload the game”. I have re-downloaded the app and still nothing
Too many bugs and outages for the price
VR has raised prices and severely reduced rewards for finishing races with high rankings. While the features are excellent having system crashes that last 3 hours are unacceptable.

Les options gratuites sont de plus en plus maigres !! Ca devient ridicule. Dommage car le jeu est bien conçu !! Pour avoir une chance de figurer dans le top classement il faut payer toutes les options, et il faut aussi du talent. Le talent ne suffit pas. Je pense que le modèle économique doit être très rentable. Mais attention : chercher trop de rentabilité peut tuer la rentabilité !!!

Never ending issues
My rating for this game is a 1 star because there are no 0 stars. This game has gone so far downhill it’s not worth the time or money. They are bleeding players as one issue after the other. I may come back if and when they get it so it’s playable again.

Surprisingly expensive to play
This is a rare example of a game which taps onto a target group of sailing fans who are demonstrably not very price sensitive. Which mobile phone game asks for £10 or £20 add on cost for a race lasting for a few days? Even if one decides to purchase, one realises that there is no chance of winning as top players are using advanced navigation software (at an additional cost) to always be on top of the game. Not least to say that the game is full of bugs! ….speechless….
Problems with route projection and app stability
Ever since the update on May 4th or 5th, there has been some problems with the route forecast. The points that say hours 1,2,3,4,5 and so on disappear and reappear and give an overall choppy feeling. Also, I have had some trouble with app stability. The app will close after maybe 5-7 minutes after a series of choppy spasms. These occur when I zoom out and scroll around the map. I really love this app and would love for these problems to be fixed.

Good armchair sailing, but could be better
This app is absorbing. I havnt worked out all the features yet, and instructions are sparse! Adding in tides as well as wind as well as the need to not hit others would improve the reality. However, you can play for free if you want to, accumulating enough points to ‘buy’ the extras if you want. Overall a good game. Initially, there were no adverts but in the last few days, a large number have appeared just when you are trying to work out course changes. Frustrating, but I am playing for free
Needs more
There is an overall lack of resources for this game from the moment you first play it. The tutorial is bare bones and doesn’t really teach you anything about how to play, navigate, use certain features, etc. You can’t even get player support without paying, and why would you? The developers don't give the slightest appearance of being player friendly or try to help out in even the simplest of ways. You end up having to search and comb the internet for resources just to learn how to play the game and operate the interface, but most of the information is located on websites or message boards that are extremely out of date or no longer maintained. Even though it’s not much better, there are more resources available for the inshore version of the game, and it is less complex. For a game that seems to want to make its mark on a more global scale, there needs to be a much higher priority placed on player support and generating a useful info base/community for players to interact and learn. More effort needs to be put into the game, especially if the ultimate goal is to get players to pay for the subscription service. Until then, there’s no way this game is worth spending any money on, and it’ll be relegated to a time killer.
Good game but
With the exception of a few random acts, you need to be spending €20+ per game on upgrades to compete well, but you can race your friends for free which is fun. The new video adverts are really annoying, especially “Royal Game” which is so annoying that I wouldn’t consider it on principle. If you want to spend, plus use separate weather and route planning software, plus break your sleep to catch new forecasts, then the prizes can be amazing. I suppose this all shows it is a serious game indeed, I personally prefer to spend on my real boat!

Game crashes
Game continues to crash not allowing me to enter and change course. Seems like it only caters to paying customers and the developers close friends. I would not put real money into this game until the developer cares enough to fix bugs, and this developer does not give to squirts. It’s fine if they want to give paying customers an advantage, but if you’re going to do that then don’t offer free play! Waste of time!!

Stores WAY too much data on your device
Good game, I’m just a little bit annoyed by the differences in the shorelines at different zoom level which regularly get me stranded “You are grounded!”. Otherwise I enjoy the races. What explains my two-star rating is that this app is currently storing a whopping 3.48 GB (!!!!!!!!) of data on my phone. I “fixed” this twice already by scraping the app and reinstalling. I will not do it again. Please update with a fix or lose a player.
Only Level 14
The game is fine. I’ve been playing for over 5 years now. (Mainly because I now live in Texas and miss sailing.) Why do we max out on level 14?
Been playing for years
Love this game. I’ve never paid a penny, and thoroughly enjoy it. I’m less competitive in many of the races as it takes me a LONG time to max out a boat’s features, but if you play your cards right, you can be competitive in the big ones. I’ve met a lot of people around the world, all sailors in one way or another. I’ve never played a mobile game that actually connected me with other people, and people with the same passion no less! Fun game, great people, 5 out of 5.
No progression?
I would understand having a layout similar to supremacy 1914 but in my limited knowledge of playing this cash grab why wouldn’t i be able to buy boats to use in any race? I think rather than having to pay real money for upgraded before the race i would rather enjoy being able to get better boats to use in the races to come.

VIP support is misleading and difficult to cancel
No matter what you write for support question, you keep getting responses they are awaiting a response until they close ticket no matter how many times you respond. This includes now trying to cancel VIP membership. Game is pretty good
Prices getting ridiculous
I have the VIP thing which is really only helpful for planning more than one day ahead. But to buy a full pack anymore is out of the question. Used to be $8 for short races, up to $20 for long ones. Now they’ve doubled those prices. So no more decent finishes. You’re stuck in the middle of the pack at best with basic sails. Not much fun anymore.

It’s been 2 years since I played. A lot of good improvements. Like the navigation help. I thought I would be way behind in relearning but was surprised I could just pick up again. Good job.
Doesn’t work after an update
Error message keeps coming up, saying “reload the game.” No longer be able to play at all.
Good game....but could be better
Rarely accurate in its representation of your position in relation to other sailors in 2D view until you select that opponents boat. Can’t see land or marker buoys in the 3D view. Once you realize this you learn to close and reopen the app rather than just stay online and believe what you are seeing. I hope I stick with the game after the initial ‘trial and error’ phase. Could use more races simultaneously to keep me interested.
Buggy
Very buggy, erratic updating, poor wind modeling and cryptic point and ranking system. And too many graphics where they’re not needed, like when the app starts, which uses huge amounts of data and slows down the app. Extremely frustrating app but also very addictive and compelling.
Steering
Your way to steer it be cool if you could see your boat turning and the boom swinging around. The game does get pretty boring after a while. I think you should be able to choose what kind of say about you have like a Hobie cat, pixel, 4-20, Feva, Optimus, laser, bic and more.

My mom and I love the Vendée Globe, so we can’t stop playing! Well, here’s something crazy, I kept on begging at mom to get it for me, she kept on saying no, but finally, she got and it’s totally worth the time and...OFFICIALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would be REALLY fun if you could add some non-identified objects so that if your boat crashes into one of them, you have to do repairs.

I am 61 years old, all my life I have liked sailing and with this game I have entertained myself in the absence of the true sea and its sails in the wind, I like its details and as a good fan I would like you to continue until I make this game the greatest of the history, such as having a version where I can go to any port in real time, with views of the ports and cities where they are, something like a flight simulator but of the sea and its beauties ....... ¿ dreams? Maybe, but think about it ...

Interesting
There is no quick manual ... I never pay for any of this and so I expect to be beaten by “faster” boats. Nevertheless, rudimentary tools should be available, like charting any waypoint I want and have the autopilot on. I want to force a plotted course and not have the system zig zag at it own if I don’t want that. Also, why can’t I see the position of other boats with their tracks?
