Unethical business
This company charged me for services not performed and refused to refund the full amount after I explained the situation and they would only refund 50% of my money. This is the worst business practice I have ever dealt with and I have reported them to Apple, to the BBB and posting this on the review to be seen as they refused to review the communication record as well as lying about what service I requested. I will continue to warn everyone about this company. Do not use this app or sign any policy with this company that in fine print states you will pay a deposit for services regardless of facts if the service was rendered at all or not what you actually requested at all. These are unethical business practices and BBB will not hold them accountable! Only The Power of People can!
App not great
Love TaskRabbit but the app keeps freezing and just showing a blank white screen. The only thing that fixes it is to reboot phone.
Trouble With Finding A Tasker
I don’t like the fact that I would choose the person and the time only for the tasters to tell me that they are not available at the time. I’ve had to cancel and get refunded three time in 24 hours
App itself fails at communication
There’s no communication from the app. I recently booked a tasker and I found out today the tasker rejected it. There was no email. There was no banner notification. No notification even in app. There was a small message at the bottom of the chat that I needed to select a new tasker. But nothing highlighted on the task itself. The task was still active one minute and the next it just disappears. That is some BS.

Scam
I needed 3 lights put up and the app charged my credit card over $80 for a deposit and then the tasker declined the project then I chose another tasker and the app charged me another $85 but didn’t refund the other amount. There is no way to get in touch with them. Very shady way to do business. After further research this company doesn’t exist anymore. It’s definitely a scam to charge your credit card.

Ich musste die App laden, nachdem laut Service die Browser Safari und Firefox schuld seien. Habe den Service über IKEA geordert, aber da funktioniert nichts. Der von IKEA avisierte Preis ist auch nicht verlässlich. Keine Empfehlung…
It sucks
I’ve tried to use it a few times, but I never seems to have the options that I need right now I’m trying to move and I just need someone to help unload but it wants me to put in both addresses, which is just going to confuse the person helping me. It only needs to be at one address they need more options That makes sense with what you’re trying to do.

Necessary app, but it doesn't work.
I would have liked the app to work because the concept of what it offers is ideal, but the truth is they don't care whether you, as a customer, get the task you’re requesting and expecting done. I paid in advance and requested a cleaning task twice, and both times the person stood me up. They simply didn't show up, and when I tried to contact customer support, it was very difficult because I kept getting answered by artificial intelligence. They hold almost $60 for each request and only return it to you after 3 or 4 days. I was desperate because I really needed the cleaning done, but it just didn't happen. To make matters worse, there is no way for us as customers to file a complaint about the people who stood us up—there is no feature to leave a comment or review. So it’s frustrating. This makes me think that the app doesn't background-check the taskers they offer, meaning we have no idea who is coming into our homes. I don't think they have any verification process for the people working on their platform.
Works ok, but some taskers charge more than advertised.
It works good when it works good, but it is inconsistent. Taskers often cancel after a booking even though it says they are available. Also some try to charge more when they see the job even if they do it in under an hour as they say the job should cost more. Skilled qualified people should charge their full rates yes, but that should be reflected in their hourly pricing or this type of app is not the right place for them.

You have to pay just to TRY to schedule each time
I’ve paid $60 3 times just to try to get someone to come fix my door. Every time they couldn’t do it and now Taskrabbit says that I have to wait seven days to see any of that money come back to my account. Why on earth would they not just send them the money once they schedule it??? you have to pay them $60 every single time just to see if your tasker is available. That’s gotta be the dumbest approach to this I could ever think of.
Useful, but app has bugs
Great service. But app screen freezes when I go into the chat. iOS 18 When I use browser instead photos won’t load. Hope they fix the bugs.
Won't Send Push Notifications
The app never seems to send push notifications for messages from taskers. You can test push notifications from settings to your heart's content, but despite the tests working, actual notifications about messages never get sent and you end up missing important messages unless you religiously check your email.
Error with address function
Tried using the app however once I click on the task I want, the address finder doesn’t work

App won't start
Signed up, was looking through taskers, about to request one, and suddenly the app is just a blank white screen. Closed/opened, deleted and reinstalled, still a blank white screen. Same with the moving/delivery app.

Update (Upgrade auf 3 Sterne): Die Idee ist super, die Umsetzung leider nicht so sehr. Wieso muss ich ein fixes Zeitfenster auswählen? Dann wird der Task erst storniert und später im Chat findet man ein Zeitfenster. Wieso kann ich nicht „egal“ oder eine Zeitspanne auswählen? Das ist ultra nervig, ich brauche mehrere Versuche und Chats für jeden Task. Daher drei Sterne, sonst fünf. Alte Bewertung (1 Stern): Ich weiß nicht, ob ich zu dumm bin oder meine Tasks zu einfach. Alles, was ich bislang versucht habe, wurde storniert. Kompliziertere Dinge wie Rolladenreparatur oder auch sehr einfache wie Kartonnagen mitnehmen und entsorgen. Ich bin bei einem Dutzend Versuchen und null tatsächlich erfolgten Tasks. Für mich ist das hier nur Zeitverschwendung, 20 Jahre alte gelbe Seiten haben mehr geholfen…
Works well for me!
This app is life changing! I’ve been putting off many small annoying tasks that need to be done. I was able to get both washroom light and the toilet fix through the app! So easy to communicate and book a time with the handy man/woman. I will be using this app again!
Watch their fees
One star for sure. Use thumbtack instead. Task rabbit charges a pretty significant hourly fee on top of the technician's hourly rate. Even with that I said fine. Then I hired a guy and was charged a one hour deposit. He was going to do a job that day. I was only able to chat with the guy after my one hour deposit was taken. Turns out he couldn't do the job. So I canceled. Task rabbit said they will be charging me a one hour fee because I canceled within 24 hours of the job. Of course it was, it was a same day job that he couldn't do for the price quoted. He was fine with me canceling, no issues. Task rabbit just kept the money for no reason.

Absolute sham - do not book with them!
I’ve had extremely disappointing experiences with TaskRabbit—both times I’ve used the platform have resulted in significant issues. In the first instance, the Tasker showed the job as complete a full day earlier than when it was actually scheduled, and my card was charged £122 without my consent. This was both unexpected and incredibly frustrating. The second Tasker caused damage to my property by drilling holes into my wall—something he was explicitly not supposed to do. Worse still, he left the job unfinished and never returned to address the damage. TaskRabbit’s response? A minimal credit and no refund. I'm now left to cover the repair costs for damage I did not cause, with no accountability from the company. Their customer service is equally disappointing. They continually reference vague “internal guidelines” that are never communicated to customers, leaving little room for recourse or fair resolution. Save yourself the stress, wasted money, and time—I strongly advise against using TaskRabbit.

Offensichtlich motivierte Hobbyhandwerker, die teils gute Bewertungen erhalten… allerdings teils mehr in der Stunde veranschlagen als mein KlempnerMeister. Die App bietet ein unrealistisches PL Verhältnis - und soweit Stadtbekannt ist der stark beworbene IKEA Service bei Taskrabbit kein Sahnehäubchen … aber bei Ikea kostet der vermittelte Taskrabbitservice das Doppelte … also vermutlich eine Art WinWin?! Zwischen: wirkt solide und LOL. Keine Alternative zu Myhammer

A Platform That Takes Too Much Control
I used Taskrabbit extensively and at first it seemed like a great way to connect customers with local professionals. Unfortunately, after relying on the platform more seriously, I became very disappointed with how it operates. The biggest problem is how much control Taskrabbit has over the relationship between the customer and the service provider. A Tasker can spend months building a strong reputation, completing jobs, earning good reviews, and depending on the platform for income — yet a cancellation, dispute, or account issue can suddenly affect their ability to get work. The policies often feel disconnected from how service businesses actually operate. Customers can change schedules, modify the scope of work, cancel appointments, or raise disputes, while the Tasker may still be the one facing consequences. Support can also be frustrating. Instead of feeling like there is a fair process where both sides are carefully considered, it can feel like you are constantly trying to prove what happened by sending screenshots, timelines, and explanations. This system does not just hurt Taskers. When experienced professionals stop trusting the platform or leave it entirely, customers lose access to good service providers too. Taskrabbit is useful as a marketplace, but I would never recommend depending on it as the foundation of a service business. The platform owns the customer relationship, controls your access to work, and can change your situation very quickly. After my experience, I would rather hire professionals directly or build direct relationships instead of relying heavily on Taskrabbit. 1 star until Taskrabbit provides better protection for Taskers, more balanced dispute resolution, and policies that reflect the reality of running a service business.

The platform ux is terrible
The app platform doesn’t function properly. I can’t get pass the security check as it keeps freezing. On the web browser, I can’t upload it photos directly from my iPhone because it say’s unsupported format’. On the positive side, I’ve previously hired tradespeople on the website and the service was great. But if you’ve got a terrible user experience and interface, what is the point of having quality workers!?

En iPhone el chat no funciona bien, es muy complicado comunicarse. Por otro lado, ya me ha pasado personas que no tenían ni coche para llegar a la casa y que me cancelaron 5 minutos antes…eso debería controlarse.

Horrible Support
I had an issue with my task and support said they would provide a $35 credit on my next task. I got a new task, didn’t see any credit and reached out to support. I was told it would show when it was time to pay and that if it didn’t show to reach out to support. It was time to pay and no credit. I reached out to support again, providing screenshots of the last conversations and was told no credit would be applied on the new task but will be on the next task. Solid app but horrible support and lied to me despite me providing proof of past conversations.

Taskers Keep Canceling
Very Disappointed — Taskers Keep Canceling This was my first time using this app, and unfortunately, the first two taskers I booked both canceled at the last minute. Taskers need to take their commitments more seriously because customers are setting aside their time and making plans around these appointments. How can I rely on this app if taskers can repeatedly cancel at the last minute? I’ve already wasted a significant amount of time trying to get a simple task completed. Very disappointing experience for a first-time user.
APP Functionality is poor
I have deleted and reinstalled and over the past two years find the service great but the APP is a nightmare and so difficult to navigate it just stops as you are trying to respond to a message and will not move to an alternative page. I have tried so many different ways to connect via the website and the APP and they are both as difficult and clunky as each other - please sort it out!
