What people like
- Fast updates on earthquake locations
- Respects your privacy and data
- Uses very little phone battery

What they complain about
- Keeps crashing and freezing often

- No way to turn off metric units
- Notifications for big quakes stopped working
Works
Works and provides the info
This is not a good replacement for the USGS app
Doesn’t update map works poorly.
Watch out for the subscription sign up during setup
When going through the setup for the new version, there’s a sneaky page that tries to get you to click a big “continue” button but that starts a subscription. You have to find the tiny X at the top to bypass it. Other than that, the app is fantastic and well written.
Where is USGS?
Where is the USGS data??
Earthquake in Quebec at 18 magnitude? Impossible.
This was shown by the app on Dec 30, 2024, at a depth of 11k kilometres. Can only be a flaw or due to wrong data. It was not corrected for 5 days at least. Otherwise this app is useful.
An Excellent App
Information is aggregated, user controls the granularity. Easy to move around. The app developer respects users and doesn’t exploit personal data for commercial profit, like others.
App doesn’t work..
Ive try but app can not open ! 😴
Robert
This app is fantastic, but why does some of the earthquakes history isn't there no more?!
Update
This was my favorite earthquake app. In need of an update bad
Can’t read the right side - Text is too large and scrolling side to side is impractical
Text size is too large and right side is chopped
Developers read my review
They emailed me to see if I wanted to change my review, I presume that means they fixed the problem . I live in the United States and we use the imperial system. But I cannot turn off the metric system in their settings , so now what do I do as they don't provide an email address for their customers .
I paid the premium price
I paid the premium price with Earthquake light not too long ago and now all of a sudden it disappeared and this is come up and it's trying to charge me again
Reliable Data Well Presented
Having fast, accurate data is most helpful. I might like to see a more intuitive Magnitude-to-Color (calm color ofYellow or pale green for low intensity escalating through darker more “serious” - RED as the strongest temblors for example) - but this is purely personal preference. Excellent APP overall and I am glad to have it. Well done. Cheers!
Used to be a brilliant app
This was the best Earthquake app but recently, it has stopped letting me click on a marked earthquake to get the information about it. It could be because of the recent apple updates and I have let the developer know about the problem, but it still has the problem.
It’s ok
I downloaded to keep track of Hawaii volcano and othe seismic activity, but it’s a little complicated and somewhat difficult to understand.
Earthquake
An amazing and useful app to keep one informed as our world continues to change!
Absolutely useless
This app used to send notifications on 6.0+ earthquakes as I wanted it to. However, over the last several months this pile of garbage app has not sent me one notification of 6.0+ earthquakes despite changing notification settings multiple times in efforts to reset it. Will be deleting, this app is garbage.
Good and bad
For some reason it won’t let me use the tsunami feature in the app. Even though we got hit by a 8.0 quake this morning it sent me a p-ush notification.
Stops sending notifications
I’ve tried re-installing the app but it still does not work.

Great app
Great information, easy to see and fast
Won’t update or display any info
App started acting up a couple months ago so I deleted it. Reinstalled it a week ago and was working great until this morning. App stopped displaying and updating earthquakes again. I really liked this app because it had the best map and up until now, was very accurate. I guess I’ll delete again and hopefully someday it will start working again.
Systems Engineer
Is excellent... no unnecessary fluff. Works great and uses minimal resources re: operating system.

Decades of enjoyment
I have been enjoying the information provided by this application for mini decades. When the large earthquake off of Japan happened, I was made aware of that that evening and was shocked at the devastation that was unfolding live before our eyes had it not been for this application if this would’ve gone greatly unnoticed or hours. Also being educational and seeing earthquake, swarms, earthquake patterns, and watching Dutch, since I have grown to enjoy these earth changes and learn more about seismic activity.
Dead app
This app is dead, hasn’t updated in a while. Don’t download anymore.

Love it!
Living in California earthquakes are always something I’m on alert for. I love this app. It shows me where and how strong the earthquakes are.

This app has stopped updating as of 03/30/2021! Unfortunate because this was a good app.

Annoyingly useless
Has never been able to locate me. A pop up keeps appearing freezing the app. You can not turn it off. DISCARD, Program engineering half think, crap
Not bad
Very helpful , be nice if you could reduce number of quakes down to days, map gets quite cluttered at times!

I’m very impressed with the consistency of this app as I reside in Hawaii and our location is venerable to tsunamis from all directions. Your mapping is quick to locate my settings as I monitor daily. 🤙
This App Needs updating
It be nice if they would update their app. I’m moving on.. there’s better apps out there, this app stale and old and tired they’re not updating it.
Thank You
Looks great; free info is good; if I weren't so cheap, I could adjust settings for a better fit. Glad you separated magnitudes by color, but it seems odd that you used a dark color for the smallest, & a light color (yellow) for the next larger category. It would be more logical for the colors to become more intense as the magnitude becomes more powerful/destructive, so that they stand out. My mind is constantly skipping over the yellows. Maybe it's just the intensity of the yellow? Not sure.
Mr
Gives fairly accurate and up to date info on earthquakes world wide, also gives info on tsunami warnings. The app does sometimes tend to crash but then works fine when re-opened.
Excellent app!
Excellent app! Wish they’d go back to the old format though, it was easier to read.
Not happy
Felt a quake 3 min ago and it’s still not showing on this app!
Works well
Gives me the info I want but tends to lock up on the 4S when there are too many earthquakes to process on one screen.
