Worked good ages ago when i first downloaded app. Now nearly every song it responds with “oops couldnt find that one” SUCKS
Inferior to Encore
While this app is without doubt, inferior to Encore as far as recognition goes, it does have some redeeming qualities, one of which is playlists. Head to head with Encore, this app is bested by Encore on virtually every other feature. Encore has better recognition, faster, and considerably fewer dropped connections. But the playlists option is Soundhounds redemption in that you can load up your playlist, pop on your headphones, and listen to full songs, full playlist. One other perk Encore doesn’t have is the ability to search for songs manually and add to your playlist.
Struggling to identify
I will have music playing loud in my car or in a fitness class and it won't either recognize it or acts like nothing is playing
Lacks pip
Love this app. Best. One thing that refrains me from using it is the lack of pip. This is a smartphone and always doing something so this would be a great feature. Please implement it. Thank you

Good app getting worse
I switched from Shazam to Sound Hound a couple of years back mainly because of better classical music support. Shazam is very poor at giving the composer of pieces of music. Sound Hound was much better. However, it’s going the same way as Shazam. Please reinstate specifying the composer of every piece identified. This morning it couldn’t tell me which violin concerto was being played (it was Brahms’s). It got the movement, opus number, performer but no composer.
Charging After All These Years?
I can’t believe after a decade, this app stopped working only to find out they want money now. Boooooo, SoundHound. No thanks.
Does not ID music as it used to be
Have been using this app when it first came out. It was great back then and can identify music better than Shazam. But it does not ID music as it used to be.
Better than Shazam
I've been looking for a song for days and everytime I hummed it to Shazam, nothing came up. I decided to install Soundcloud and give it another go, within a few seconds of me humming, it suggested two potential matches. The first one was the song I had been looking for. Will definitely keep using this app, highly recommend it!!
It’s not what it promises to be
Unfortunately, every time I use it, it could not identify the song. Weather was played on the radio, an MP3, or somebody was listening it. It’s always no hit. Am I online? Yes. Is the sound loud and clear? Yes. Other other noises around? Sometimes.

Full of errors
It doesn’t work properly at all! Always errors and wrong results… The big question is why it is pushing you to have your location for better results!!! That s ridiculous

ずっとラジオの音楽を検索して楽しんでたんですが、CarPlayになって、CarPlayで接続されているときにラジオから流れた曲を探そうとすると、ラジオが止まってしまって探せない。 なんとかなりませんか？

Used to be pretty good but in the last months it couldn’t identify several well known rock songs like G&R Sweet Child of mine .6 try’s six didn’t know .
Used to be better
Have they fixed their issues yet? Used to love this app, it could always find obscure songs, and I loved that it could link to my Spotify so I could add the songs to my lists directly. However, in the last year, it could hardly diagnose any of the songs I tried to capture, almost as if it wasn’t connected to the internet. (I checked, not the issue.) I found myself using it less and less, seeking other options. Apple’s iphone’s newer integration of its competitor’s app as a quick button option has convinced me to delete this app. Maybe I’ll be convinced to switch again if they improve.
Better than Shazam
Shazam didn’t understand the humming but this one did
Obsolete
SoundHound used to be great. It was the only app you could sing or hum and believe it or not it would identify songs like magic. However, apparently they couldn't keep up and slowly faded into irrelevance. The app is slow, buggy, and I can’t remember the last time it identified a song from humming. Open on Apple music? Sometimes works. Open on YouTube? On occasion works… I guess if you got a beef with Shazam you could in a pinch use it, but the fact is that after Apple acquired Shazam and made it native to iOS there is no real reason for SoundHound to exist.

Meh
I’ve used this one for forever, and I get so frustrated because it takes so long to identify music. So I tried another popular app, and it works so much faster. I’m not going to be using this app anymore.

What happened??
Have had sound hound for years but lately it can’t find anything. Out of the last 20 songs playing on a jute box it might get one(1). Very disappointing from when it was the best. Now Shazam does better but they Don’t have lyrics.

サーチしてきた履歴が無くなるのは、無料だから？ 認識度は、ソコソコ良いんだけどね～ 後、鼻歌で検索が出来るのは、サイコーです(#^.^#) 追記 2024年12月26日(木) 出た頃は、ほんの2,3秒で認識したけど、今は全然ダメ。 圧力により、悪くさせられた？今はオマケ使い程度。

This app is a piece of garbage. I have trouble working at all the time on my iPhone 13. The phone works just fine. This is the only app that has a problem. It used to work just fine. It doesn’t need an update. My phone doesn’t need an update. This app is just garbage. It stops working all the time and I’m sick of it! Then I can’t figure out what the song is before the song is over. Thanks for wasting my time and storage space!
Good but...
There used to be a search button before two or three updates on your “discoveries” list but now... nothing; why would you take that out? I mean yes you can search but like random not working your own music, which I think it’s a bummer. Sometimes it does work perfectly, others not so much... songs recognition sometimes fails
Formerly great, now barely recogizes anything R.I.P.
I loved this app until recently when it became progressively less able to recognize songs. Now it misses chart topping rock and pop songs pretty much every time. Same with TV show soundtracks. Maybe one in ten or twenty searches will succeed. I truly hope this will be fixed.
Didn't work
Just as "accurate" as Shazam, but without even the "no that's not it" button. I get that looking up obscure music is hard, but I wouldn't be looking it up if it wasn't obscure.
Great while travelling
Was in Greece recently, and would come across different radio stations, a lot of jazz, contemporary and Greek music and often wanted to know the artist and the song. Soundhound always found them. Allowed me to build a really cool playlist to go along with my photos. Cool.

Love it when it’s working
I have loved this app for a decade. As of late it can’t find any songs. I have started looking for songs I know to test it. No humming either. Sad, I hope it’s fixed soon.

Seriously - this app can't ID the simplest of songs. Meanwhile, Shazam is killing it
Why take away awesome features?
I used to live this app for the simple fact that I could listen to music from my own library and use SoundHound to display live lyrics while listening. So disappointed to discover that feature is longer available. I’ll be looking for a new app to fill this void. Thanks for the good years. Good luck in the future.
A powerful that lost it’s way….
This app used to be the go-to for me and my friends, Shazam (it’s well known rival) had lost it’s way and was awful, but now the table has turned. Shazam with it’s Apple investment has gone from strength to strength and this app seems to get worse. New app updates seem to make it clunkier and it’s janky add-ons do nothing for me, it really struggles to identify even mainstream music and it’s database ain’t what it was. Now I have a new bug, where it randomly comes on and destroys my battery life after being on for 12 hours solid, I’m slowly relegating SoundHound down my app order as Shazam moves up on my phone, come on SoundHound go back to the viral sensation you were only a couple of years ago.

Simply awful
This app has got to be the absolute worst song identifier on the Apple Store. Seriously, it just spins and spins and spins until it regretfully informs you that it can’t find whatever it is you’re looking for. Don’t waste your time.

I have been a loyal Soundhounder for many years but in the last few months I started to feel that it was not finding tracks more and more often. I was missing out on brilliant tracks so I downloaded Shazam and found that 95% Shazam found tracks that Soundhound didn’t… what’s happened? 😔
