Wonderful service
Dianping became unusable lately
Dianping weirdly asked for verification repeatedly even though I am using the same phone and I am using only one device. The verification process is not normal - Dianping asks me to send verification code as a text message to a certain number, instead of sending me a code to verify. I have been using the app for its most basic functions like finding restaurants and paying; I don’t write reviews using this account. Dianping’s customer services are unhelpful here. They can’t solve real issues I have and can’t even explain why I encounter these problems. I liked this app for a long time. Unfortunately, I need to give a thumb down for the very negative experiences I had in past 3-6 month.
It’s sharing feature limits the output, making it difficult to truly share 1:1 with someone. For example, if you share it in WeChat, it opens up in 小程序 which is not a 1:1 mapping of the info (operating hours are not shown); if you share it as a link, it will almost always require verification. For a social app, this feature of supporting co-browsing style exploration should be tablestake, yet for some business driven reason, the experience is very fragmented, making it unusable for a scenario where a group may want to explore and decide on a certain option.
Way too aggressive in blocking users
Can’t access a ton of pages when visiting China, and many places only have a dianping page. So I can never find good places to eat.
Annoying
Why do I have to sign in with wechat or phone number so often? I saved for our five places to check out and every time I want to see them, I have to have a code sent to my number. Completely unnecessary

Me
Very good

Great app to find whatever you want
Whatever dining, gaming, relaxing or just have idle and enjoy massage or SPA, Dian pin is always the right choice for you. Very precise selection and filter function can help you find what you quick and direct.
Translation
The App needs improvement for the translations, not all verbiage will translate.

Help!!
My phone number is frozen and when I tried to unlock it via the number given, I was taken on a wild goose chase. I am also not residing in China mainland, and not so proficient in chinese. What can I do?
