Usually awesome. Today it didn’t work
I got this app in 2014. I unlocked all regions for an additional $5.99. It’s been working perfectly until today. Now, all of a sudden, the only unlocked region is Canada. No matter what I do I can’t unlock all regions. I tried to restore, and it says I restored, but it’s still only shows the Canadian region. And I’m on vacation and wanted to use it like I always do on vacation. Usually love the app, now I’m just an extremely unhappy customer. ***** update.****** I reached out to customer service and they got back to me within one business day. I am back up and running and very happy. Thank you, Susan!
Nope
You have to pay money to get the app, then pay more money to be able to access the information on it. What a joke.
Adding 2nd device is confusing
I originally trashed this app because adding 2nd device didn’t’t work. After playing with it I was able to get if working on my 2nd device. Only 4 stars for the confusion. The app is fun and leads you to all the quirky spots you shouldn’t find on you own. For those not willing to pay for all access - stop whining it’s $7.99. Come on, really??
Worked for a while
The on-route stopped working and no one will answer my emails to get it working again.
Fun, but hard to find everything!
I really enjoy the amount of attractions offered, but it’s very difficult to make sure I don’t miss anything interesting. I would LOVE if you would make the map work so that when I scroll around, it shows all the attractions. Having to push the “show attractions in this area” only shows attractions local to the center of the screen, and I miss many. It would also really help to open the app and have the map appear directly. I would also like a search function. If, for example, I want to find all the Bigfoot-themed attractions on the app, there’s no way to do so. :(
A perfect app
Has greatly improved every road trip I’ve taken for years.
Paid 4 dollars for the app $7.99 to get the full and still will not work so wasted 12 bucks

I wish that there were more than one or two destinations per town. I’d love to help support by adding locations, with information and pictures if I can in some way.
Love the premise, but has been neglected
This is a great app, but wow, has it been forgotten by the devs. It’s slow, ungainly, the maps I’ve purchased don’t sync between my iPhone and iPad, and location services are so incredibly slow.

We use this site all the time while traveling, and the app adds so many tools. Well worth purchasing! Of course, we are old retired folks who have time to stop at interesting things!

I use to ❤️ this app! Every time we traveled & went anywhere, I always went to my app faithfully. I just got a new phone again & went 2 download my app & am having nothing but issues! I have paid for the app several years ago. Every time I got a new phone I’ve never had an issue reloading the app. Can someone please fix the issue … this is a great app & lots of fun to use when traveling on the road! Makes it less BORING to travel!! 🙏🏼
Far too expensive
Ludacris that it costs ten dollars to unlock all the “regions”. The app was far easier to navigate than the website. It’s a shame I can’t plan a trip or actually do anything on the app unless I’m in the states closest to my home.
Love Love Love
I am not exaggerating when I say that we use this app constantly. It’s the first thing I open when researching a trip to a new area and I check it often to see if we have anything new around us. When we have a day or a weekend and want a little adventure we start here. We have seen so many things that we never would have known about.
Money grab
The app is limited to your region. You have to pay more to unlock different sections of the map. Got this to plan a road trip but it was unusable because despite after already paying you have to pay more to see other regions. Quite misleading.
Issues
I love the Roadside America book and was looking forward to using this app for a road trip across the country. Two major issues - not being able to add an extra region of the country. I was able to add the southeast initially but can’t add any other region. In the process of doing so, the app consistently tells me that my email address is invalid but this is the only email address I’ve had. Tried several times with the same result. So I can only use this for the first region selected. I understand that I will have to pay extra for added regions but I can’t even try to add them because I’m told that my email address is invalid.
Huge fan, great app
I consult this app for every road trip I take, even if it’s 45 minutes from home, and I always find the coolest stuff! Seriously, everyone tells me how fun it is to road trip with me, and I explain it is all thanks to Roadside America. And omg the laugh out loud descriptions of these American treasures. Roadside America has given me some of the most magical experiences of my life. I am so grateful. The “on route” feature is a godsend also.

Won't Open. Updated 2/20/2025
I tried to open the app and nothing happens. I paid for all of the regions and now, all of a sudden, nothing. It will not open. This was a nice app but where did it go? UPDATE. I was contacted and told how to fix the problem! Voila, all is good now so back to 5 stars!

Love it!
As a full time RV’er, this is an app I can’t live without. Makes life on the road so much more interesting (not that it isn’t already interesting). Whenever I’m in a new spot, I use the attractions in the app as a tour of the city. The paid version is well worth the money even if you don’t live on the road.
After purchase, app dies
I just bought this for $3.99 but when you click to open, it immediately closes. I have tried to reboot phone. Reinstall app. ChatGPT told me to turn my location on for the app, but that setting isn’t available.
Love this app!
We use this for funny fun side trips when traveling. All this entertainment for under $10. How fun!

Literally Can’t Create an Account
Tried to create an account. Says a “fatal error” occurs when attempting to send an email (I’m using GMAIL. Come on). Tried to contact via the website form and got a very similar error. Something is screwed up on your end and I’d guess there’s not enough money to keep all this stuff updated as technology changes
