Please allow more carriers
I’ve changed to a new network provider (Sky Mobile) to find that it isn’t a supported carrier. Please could this be looked at as I’ve been a subscriber for years and it’s so disappointing to lose Hullomail. It made my life so much easier.
Not great
Messages come through days later and I’ve had six notifications for missed calls for about a month now. No missed calls. No way of deleting the notifications.
Works well no problems as yet
I have had no issues with Hullomail always worked as expected but would be nice to be able to export the voicemail’s so you can keep them and send to others ( might now be available on a higher subscription?)
Terrible customer service
It’s a good product until it stops working properly so you contact customer services and get no reply whatsoever. Cancelled !!!
Ok
It’s ok. I think the pricing is high for what you get bearing in mind some of us are using this for personal use. The ability to upload a voice recording would be helpful, too.
Support
Love this app, been using it for about 8 years, first time I’ve had to request support and the team were straight on it and it was sorted immediately! Highly recommend!
Doesn’t let you cancel subscription
Still taking money even though i cancelled subscription on apple
Working again.
Fiddly to sort out, but working ok now. Could be less expensive and I was paying for a few weeks without any service, so 4 stars.
Not Compatible With iPhone New Call Screening
To use the Hullo voicemail service, Live Voicemail has to be disabled. However, if you disable Live Voicemail, iOS also disables Apple’s new call screening feature, which depends on Live Voicemail being switched on. This creates a direct conflict. You cannot use Hullo voicemail and Apple call screening at the same time. Ideally, calls should be screened first, then routed to one of the custom Hullo voicemail messages if unanswered. Until the app is updated to work alongside Apple’s voicemail and call screening features, this significantly limits usability on iPhone.
Time to hang up on Hullomail
Worked well until I’ve had so many annoying notifications of the massive 62% price hike from 7.99 to 12.99 so yeah it was good whilst it was sensible pricing, time to leave before the next big hike too as clearly this is not a small incremental increase. Company was acquired in Dec 2020 and same old same old shortly after hiked pricing.
Works really well
I have been using Hullomail for several years and it makes my life so much easier! For me the most important part is that I get my voicemails in my email inbox so I don’t forget to deal with them. Missed calls notification is a welcome bonus. Love the option to record and store several greetings with their heading, which I can then so easily (visually) select either as a main greeting or as a greeting for individual callers. Most importantly, it has always worked for me brilliantly with GiffGaff / O2 in UK and as long as your operator allows diverting voicemail to custom number, it will for you too. It can be a bit of hit and miss when roaming - not because of the product but because the roaming operators sometimes don’t allow redirecting voicemail to custom numbers. I would then either set a do not disturb redirect to Hullomail before going or temporarily revert to my operator’s default voicemail number. Thank you for this brilliant service!
Stupidly expensive
Apple are now doing this but much better natively with the support of ai. Save your money on this
A damn good voicemail application
Still going well although the sorting needs an extra option I feel.
No longer works since updating to new IPhone !
No longer works since I have updated my phone. Each time I try to activate voice mail it displays a list of error messages and fails ! It was very good. Now it is totally useless !
Price increase with no reason - not nice for existing customers
Lol @ the rewview from adp_1983 who flexes his big man muscles - wow. All your 87 employees! It’s so good you came on here to give a 1 star review saying they missed out on your business, and I’m glad you mentioned exactly how many employees you could have signed up for, I bet Thumbtel are quivering in their boots at the idea of “loosing” [sic] your business! Anyway back to my own review. I have used Hullomail for a number of years and found it reasonably reliable, from time to time I have noticed certain features just stopped working and it took me half a year to really notice and sign in to turn them back on again (eg voicemail to email, etc). But generally good. I am however really upset at the 25% price increase. At the very least it would have been polite to give a reason for the price increase rather than just demanding existing customers stump up with the new fees with zero justification. Okay an extra £10 isn’t going to break the bank, but the new price is close to £50 and that just seems to be OVER the threshold of what I would consider paying for a voicemail service. I will take this as a chance to look around at the competition - or perhaps just go back to visual voicemail.
Oh my god where has this app been?!
I hate the Iron Age style ‘call voicemail to retrieve message’ and end up missing leads due to this - why did I not find this app sooner! Set it up in 2 minutes - tested and it works. Hallelujah!! I get a high volume of business calls which I can’t always pick up so this is going to make a massive difference.
App suddenly stopped working
Can not find info or support to get the problem resolved. May need to ask Apple for a refund if the App is no longer fit for purpose.
Thumbtel
This is a brilliant product. It ensures you have full flexibility and control around all one’s calls.
It’s a great app.. but…
It’s a great app and I’ve used it for years, which is the only easy way to use voicemail if not on o2 in the UK. I kept it when they started to charge for it as I accepted that ongoing development comes at a cost to keep apps at their best without adds etc. However they have continued to uplift the cost and this time I felt it was too much and the jump in price is genuinely disproportionate. So I’ve decided to put this app to bed. Should they decide to be a bit less greedy with the pricing then I’ll certainly be back on and subscribing again.
Decent
So HulloMail used to work for me very well when I had the free version. I decide to upgrade to the paid plan and ever since I upgraded the app crashes a lot, voicemails are slow to show up and it takes 3 to 4 days email a copy to me.... #uninstalling.
Excellent visual voicemail and spam call guard
I’ve used Hullomail for many years. It has been very reliable and convenient compared to the minimal voicemail available on three. The one time I had a problem support by email responded quickly and were helpful. As I have two work phones and a personal mobile, I send all my voicemail to one inbox accessible from the app on all three phones. Awesome. I get copies by email so I can easily forward a message to someone else. Got a message from school about your child you want to send to your partner? Done. Got a message from work for a different team, forward it on, done. Well worth the price for the functionality. Just make sure your provider supports call divert, it’s a shame not all of them do.
Never worked since I started it.
Something to do with iPhone comparability. Confusing instructions and lack of support.
Steep price hike but great app
I received an email that my subscription would increase by 62% from £7.99 to £12.99 per year. It’s not a bank breaking monetary increase but is certainly an eye watering percentage. I’m staying with HulloMail, to leave would be spiting myself and it’s still only just over £1 month, cheap in the grand scheme of things. I’ve only dropped 1 star for the increase because I’m very happy with the app. For anyone considering subscribing for the first time just do it. HulloMail is better than the competition and way better than iPhone native visual voicemail.
Has become too costly considering demand
There’s a massive gap between the Lite and Pro subscriptions and Thumbtel recently increased their prices as well - they need to look at their competition and their pricing as it can’t be that costly to maintain the servers to run this service. Been with them for 5 years and when I mentioned it I was literally told “sorry to see you go”. No attempt at retaining a customer. Going to delete the app, and save my money. Fewer people leave voicemails these days so not worth bothering with. Good luck Thumbtel.
Works but Old
This app needs updating. Has some quirks
Simply brilliant
This has been a game changer for how I use my phone. I’ve often complained about the ‘built in’ voicemail from my phone network and knew what I wanted. Who’d have thought I’d have found exactly that on the App Store? If you’re tempted, use the trial, try out this epic service and then be prepared to hand them a small amount of cash for what is a brilliant product. Thanks to everyone involved, this is truly great - not a single negative to say about it.
Hullomail
Getting disappointed messages for one though as quickly as used to.
Great VM app!
I’ve been using Hullomail for years. It’s a great voicemail app with great features and good support. The biggest reason I use it is having my voicemails emailed to me. This helps me by having a record of voicemails from people, or just having a copy in my inbox until I get a customer taken care of. A side benefit which I enjoy is having a custom greeting for individual numbers. It always impresses them to hear a personalized message from me if they get my voicemail. Lastly, I used to get so many robocalls that would leave 1, 2, or 3 second long empty voicemails, since they were listening for a live voice. I asked support to make mine reject any messages less than 5 seconds long. They accomplished this and it cut WAY down on the robocalls, I love it! Great app, and I’ll use it for years longer.
Messages do not always play...
1 of about every 15 messages do not play. It will show 24 seconds, but when you press play--- it goes about a half second and stops. Will not play. I left myself messages for reminders... sometimes they don't play - so I know a message was left. Has the service for a couple years and getting worse.
Update I would have given 5 stars however you can't use it with Meteor network,
Great app however the recent update has ruined the user experience, please revert back to previous version, revamped colour is appalling and does nothing for the user, would give 5 stars for older version.
Great app and support
Works really well. Design of the app itself is good. Subscription price ok. Customer support excellent too - I had some set-up issues when changing network provider and porting a number over, which HulloMail support sorted out swiftly and easily.
Impossible to unsubscribe
When you sign up to Hullomail they provide two numbers, one to call to activate the service and reroute your voicemail to their service and a “deactivate” number to undo this. Here’s what they won’t tell you: THE DEACTIVATE NUMBER DOES NOT WORK. I contacted Hullomail support and they just shrugged their shoulders and said it wasn’t their problem and told me not to contact them again. So my choices are: 1, stay subscribed to Hullomail. 2, have no voicemail. I need voicemail on my phone for my work so I have been stuck, forced to stay subscribed for YEARS, throughout price increases, since they are holding my phones ability to take voicemails to ransom. Here it is again if you missed it: HULLOMAIL WILL NOT LET YOU UNSUBSCRIBE. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM OR YOU WILL BE STUCK WITH THEM FOREVER.
Great way to save voicemails for future reference
I have found hello mail to be a great way of archiving voicemails that you need to keep for a future date. The voicemail is saved as a file in an email that you can store and reference.
It’s ok
It’s OK but the advertisement with it drives me. They need to get all the advertisement off of it when you get a program you want to program you don’t want anything else from me
Used to be 5 star, now bugged
On an original iphone se running ios 15.7.5. The transcribed messages no longer scroll properly, they just always snap back to the top as soon as I take my finger off. Infuriating. Plus every time I exit a message I get spammed with the same annoying dialog asking me to turn on background app refresh. No, I don’t need to, nor want to, nor ever will, so kindly &@£* off please. The app works fine without it.
Does not work. Subscription stopped
On a Lite subscription. Messages go straight to voicemail. Every now and again one will go to the app for reasons that I cannot understand. Quite frustrating given that the cost of the subscription has quadrupled last year. This is the final straw for me. I’m out.
Useful app
I like this. I wish it worked in more countries but otherwise this is an example of how the incumbent telcos leave opportunities for others to exploit because they are so focused on milking their customers.
pricing trick
the app is avelible in most countries BUT, in many places the free version would downlad and then let you know you need to pay 9€ to use it. the transcript part is with a monthly subscription so think about it before you downlaod
Great free voicemail
This free version works very well on my iPhone14 which uses the Vodafone network.
Sky Mobile not supported :(
This app would really help me but Sky mobile numbers are not supported - will this change in future?
great
great app
HulloMail
HulloMail when're it is working well is very very good but sometimes messages don't appear on the icon and you are unaware that messages are there to be read.
Superb App
I have been using this app for years now, the full pro version is great value for money with all the features it provides. I have recently started to use again after re starting my business (Covid disruptions) and have had excellent customer support to regain access to my service. Highly recommend.
App does not work keeps crashing and no support
Worked fine for a while no does not even open and keeps crashing
Love having "visual voicemail"
Just wish I didn't have to click into each missed call to mark it as seen. This makes sense with voicemails of course but for missed calls there's no critical information I need by clicking so I really miss they'd be marked as seen/read as soon as I've seen them in the main table view. Thanks
Not great
I keep missing voicemails I receive when out of coverage as it doesn't notify me.
