Best iOS feed reader
Simple clean interface. Blessed author has mercy on the users!
Nice UI, simple but needs tweaks
I've been using this app for as long as it's been on the store, so I know all the changes its gone through. I love it, but during that time I never used it without being jailbroken, and now I realize a few things that really can just go. UI spin animation - can it. Your slide is fine. Extra categories - keep it optional. Confirmations yes/no - option it. I don't need to confirm twice to clear the page of entries. Feed icons - keep the url or add the https:// already. Adjustable text/row sizes (need more options) Allow safari's extension support - too many ads are not blocked *more to come
Needs some improvement
It’s good, but an ad blocker is needed and maybe a tool to marks on text will be very nice
Feeds don't update
Update 12-27-23 Still having the same problem: Clicking/reading doesn't show as read The article remains highlighted as unread. I find I rarely want to use this app anymore because of this bug - before the bug I would use it all day to catch up on news. Other than this NEW bug the app is great. Original review: Since the last update After clicking an article, the feed stays highlighted as if I never clicked/read it - plus - when I refresh my feeds, I'm getting duplicates! Other than that, I enloy this app!
Good but buggy
I like that the app is free and contain most of the functions I need. However, it’s fairly rough and a bit buggy. The editing of feed title resets unless one use the done button which closed the keyboard and moves the input box, strongly disrupting the work flow. The adding feed box does not close after the confirmation popup is closed. The read all confirmation has a bold yes and a normal yes instead of a yes and a no. Adding a feed also doesn’t automatically get it even though auto update is enabled.
Nice simple rss reader
Its an rss feed without adds. I love the simplicity!
New version still broken
The crashing is fixed when launching the app, but now it crashes when trying to add a feed.
An excellent app for RSS
Exactly what one needs for feeds; no fluff, just a workhorse. Good work!
Nie pobiera całego wpisu
Zamiast wpisu pobiera tylko wstęp do niego
It's great and free
My only complaint is with the categories being mandatory, and no option to turn off prompts to delete entire article lists. It also handles keyboard strokes in app poorly. Still better than most in its simplicity and design which do RSS how it should without all the frills and nonsense. Stay 7+ compatible, champ.
Great
A simple but efficient tool!!!
Google map xfeed link not rerouting
Had iPhone 6s worked well upgraded to iPhone 11 google address links not working with my new phone with xfeed. Need app update please.
Very good RSS Reader
I have tried various RSS reader and this one is my favorite one. Easy to use. Good design.
Clean lines but...
I don't see where to import my previous feed list and i do not want to build it again. Nor do I see that I can customize folders beyond 'Favorites.' Just got app a few minutes ago, but these are 2 must haves for me. On other rss apps, at least one can go to website and import ompl file but I don 't see that here. Am I missing it ? Hard to see whether I like app without feeds.
Okay, but starting to feel dated
I need more. The "open in Safari" option is very inconsistent, or my feeds are all incorrectly formatted. I seem to remember it working at some point, But it hasn't worked in some time. Feeds must be manually added. The app won't simply pull the RSS feed if you point it to the top level domain. So, right now this app is a simple headline aggregator requiring me to go out with another app to find further information or to read the particular articles. It works, but I think I'll be looking around for another.
I would pay for this rss reader app!
Perfect rss app. It displays feeds beautifully. It can email items. An exceptionally yet simple rss feed app. And it found and shows all Maine.Info feeds. Please keep it in the App Store!
Worthless
Does not put feeds in alphabetical order. Will accept some feeds but indicates others can only be viewed on iPhone, not iPad.
Update feeds
Works very well, except the feeds are not updating ... and currently need to be updated manually. (iPad Air 2)
It's OK
I love the idea of going to the actual website within the xFeed app with my iPad. It works great for password-protected websites, too. However, the updates does not show any changes, regardless how many times I have to refresh the xFeed app to get updates. I only see the first feed from password-protected sites, I'll give it 5 stars if the refresh feeds are fixed.
Ok, but
A decently working app but only three stars for not being able to mark all read. You have to go into each individual feed o mark it read. A glaring omission to me. That needs to be addressed and I'd up my rating.
Best Feed Reader
So far the best feed reader I've found on any mobile or desktop OS. I am not really a fan of IOS or Apple in general (see all of you showing at my front door with "pitchfork & torches" on your iPad screens threatening my life). I do enjoy the large screen of the iPad Pro as well as 3 favorite exclusive apps on the iOs. This app helps keeps me favoring my iPad in lieu of grabbing another device for entertainment purposes. Chillax! Aloha.
Unfortunately lacks Twitter and FaceBook interface
Fast Perfekt!
Ein guter RSS reader. Bitte fixt das auto update und baut eine Push Möglichkeit ein, damit ich bei meinen Feeds immer aktuell bleibe. Dann ist diese App. Ein Must have für alle rss Fans!! Hoffe auf ein Update ;)
Has bugs, developer ignores users
This app cannot backup/copy/export or import/paste a feed list, which is vital to an rss client - setting the app up on successive devices causes too much unnecessary typing. rssRunner is much more user-friendly in this regard. A user asked for this feature on Nothing Everywhere's forums back in April of 2009.. this feature is still not implemented. It seems that opening an RSS feed in safari does indeed open the xfeed app, but the "opened" RSS feed is nowhere to be found in the app. The app opens but doesn't display the "imported" feed. Users have been asking for features in the developer's feature request threads for years with no helpful replies. It seems the developer doesn't listen to his users. Fix these problems and I'll update my rating. Until then this app simply isn't worth installing.
Missing critical functionality
I'm revising my review upward as I use it more. It's still not great, though it is good. What will make this a great app: 🔹Automatic background feed updates 🔹Badge indicating the number of unread items 🔹Mark an article read in all feeds it exists in (for sites with multiple feeds with posts under multiple categories) 🔹A "critical" flag that sends iOS notifications for feeds so flagged
My toilet buddy
It’s nice to catch up on all of my news while taking a dump. xFeed allows me to accomplish this in the most efficient way. By the time I’m ready to wipe, I have read everything I need to get my day started. I applaud the creator for the clean design, easy to use interface, and building a lightweight app that runs efficiently on all of my apple devices, old and new. Cheers!
No updates
Auto update not working at all for me
Needs an iOS 7 overhaul!
The app works great with a KIS (Keep it Simple) in mind but it still has a rather outdated UI which is an eyesore on iOS 7. It's great nonetheless those who don't rely on subscriptions or account linked feeds like me. But since updating to iOS 7 if I load the original post on the website it always shoots to the bottom of the page by itself and I'd have to scroll back up to find where I left off and then a few seconds later it does it again. That's gotten to be an annoyance, and is enough for me to seek another rss app which is a pity.
Nice but no Google integration
I'm not sure what the value is for an RSS reader these days without any sharing of feed lists with other apps or platforms. At least integration with google reader would be useful.
Just one problem...
I'm using this on an iPad (first generation) and have been very impressed with this app. This update has given us a sleek, new UI which I have come to love. Although, I would also agree with another comment that requests a bolder look for unread items as it was in the past. Unfortunately, the problem that I've run into now is that it will not open some of my articles. They appear in my list to read, but when I click on the item, it just stays highlighted and does not load. As someone who uses this app on a daily basis, I hope that this can be fixed soon. Otherwise, keep up the great work! :)
The last of its kind?!
This app is a jewel in a pile of ... junk ... that is the sad state of rss feed apps these days. My requirements were simple: Avoid subscription services (I care about privacy) Group and navigate articles by RSS feed Option to open articles in Safari Stability (does not crash) Free to use I used "RSS Reader" for a couple years until it became so buggy and unstable after their latest redesign that it became completely unusable. I gave up on it after giving the devs a month to get their stuff together. To my amazement none of the first 20-30 apps in IOS App Store met the simple requirements above. A big thank you to the devs! I hope this app gains in popularity as it's beautiful in how simple, efficient and organized it is.
Very buggy
Works simply when it is not crashing. Too may bugs and crashing issues. i am deleting this.
Working great again
Thx for fixing the problem with summaries displaying improperly. It's back to being a lean, efficient RSS news reader for me. Highly recommended. My only suggestions would be put more space and preferably color code the icons for 'Saving' an article and 'Deleting' an article; I can't tell you how many times I tapped the Delete icon instead of the Save icon while trying to quickly read through my feeds. Man!! (I'd suggest having the Save icon the same Orange color as the feeds that are saved display, and Red for the Delete icon. And, please, neither icon should be middle icon; maybe keep Save to the left, and Delete to the right. Sounds like a small thing, but really helps when trying to be quick reading...) Highly recommended. Once you get your preferred feeds worked out, nothing is faster or leaner. Much appreciated!
Needs iOS 6 update!
Crashes with iOS 6 on sync. I'd easily give it a 4 when that's fixed.
Needs PUSH Notifications
Nice BUT this app needs customizable (per feeds) PUSH notifications. It seems lame to me that a good app does not take advantage of existing capabilities in iOS: PUSH notifications.
Design Update! Yes!
Love the new look and feel. Type is much cleaner too. I like the quick drag load--though it took me a sec to realize to do it, I kept hitting the refresh for one feed button. Overall a great improvement.
Beware!
Downloaded this new update just a few moments ago and now all of my feeds are gone and it keeps crashing shortly after I open it!
Great App that works wo google
This app has worked well for me. Especially happy that I knew about it after the google announcement
Crashes after IOS 6 ugrade!! Help
After my iOS 6 upgrade, the app crashes whenever I try to update my items! Please fix..
Still has problems under iOS 5.1.1
Still tends to crash on original iPad when rendering very complex pages with lots of images (e.g. CNN). Worse if other apps are open but it can happen even when xFeed is the only app running. Memory management problem? Safari can display those same pages without difficulty. New UI has a bug. Sometimes when returning from the "full article page" it reverts to the old UI (partially)... list of available articles is shown full-width rather than in the narrow-column overlay style. Once this happens there seems to be no way to view articles again... they do not display when selected. Only way to correct the problem is to forcibly shut down the app and then restart it.
Great app!
It’s a great feed reader. An iCloud Sync would help us a lot to keep the same configurations on all iDevices :-)
Crashes immediately under ios6
WAS a great app to aggregate news - now useless
WAS my favorite app
Please fix for ios6. Don't want to give up on it!
Bof
Coupe les news au lieu de tout afficher.
iOS 6 issues
Coming up with a patch for iOS 6? It's been complaint free until now
Great reader
👍👍
Bof
