The descent into ruins
This was once an excellent browser. It was “reinvented” a while ago which was a poor job with change for the sake of change being the apparent objective. Now it has rendering issues with major websites. AMEX crashes iCab, Amazon renders poorly, other sites simply stop loading with some of the page missing. More and more I’m using Safari. Once Safari has a decent cookie manager, iCab will simply be uninstalled.

can’t do the thing I bought it for: force desktop site
Oh well. I know there’s a million things this browser can do, but it can’t do the one thing I bought it for, which is force the desktop site of my financial services platform. I’ll see if I can get a refund.
Hijacked tab reset
I have a tab in My Admin that immediately takes me to the iPhone App Store and I cannot stop it when I access the app. How do I reset the app without losing all my saved bookmarks to basically close all the tabs so it doesn’t keep immediately taking me to a rogue app in the AppStore? When I click on admin button to access the app it shows and open tab and then immediately takes me to the App Store. Please help.
Broken modules break usability
This was my favorite browser until you disabled all my most useful modules. Night mode was invaluable. Why do away with it?
Every time
Every time I open app in full screen the status bar shows even though I select don’t show it. So now I must deselect, select every time.
Danger… on update, all tabs deleted
App is updated frequently, but of recent on update all open tabs are removed, so if you function like me where you leave sites open that you wish to explore more deeply later best make that happen fast.
New UI is a step down in functionality
The changes should have been made while retaining the original UI, or at least an option to reduce the jarring change and non-reversible downgrade.
Good option but no sync
Of the third party browsers available for iOS this is probably the best. Its weakness is that it no-longer syncs with a desktop browser. At least no that I know of. I expect the developer could add sync via a desktop browser extension a cloud platform, but he doesn't seem to have done so so far.
Change for its own sake. Usability looses out.
-The screen splits unexpectedly for unknown reasons and the fix isn’t clear. -Why does the tab list always start at the top instead of where I left it? -Get off my lawn.
Very functional but hard to navigate
Edit: I realised that the bookmarks and history hadn’t been deleted by the upgrade. They were just hard to find in the new menu layouts. The upgrade is still a step backward for me from a user perspective. ——————— This was my go-to browser for many years but since the last update it has become unusable for me. I like to keep a lot of tabs open. Now every time I go a couple of days without using iCab I find it has cleared all my tabs. The final insult was when it lost all my bookmarks and history.
Creator is very responsive and browser is fully functional
The only browser I can get everything to work properly on…with some configuration. Creator is great with queries.

update breaks everything
For years my private browsing, or download for later browser. New version breaks almost everything. New tabs are very small. Can no longer long-press a link to download. Download area lost a bunch of features, doesn't display current dir, name sort is ASCII not natural (like on Mac), slideshows don't use dir sort, new slideshow controls are awful.
I’ve loved this for years … until now!
I just updated my iCab because I was having some annoyance with it opening other apps without permission, but was otherwise great as ever. The update though - downloads seem broken, tabs reset, app switching blur not working… Might as well use Safari! Please fix it or tell me how to roll back!!
A lifesaver
Full screen button is ever so important now since other browsers’ menu bars are so FAT!!!, they usually hide themselves but there are some websites where they don’t. One of those sites is smartdraw, and I use iCab as a lifesaver
This is a mess
A group of us told the developer changes were needed for years now. Could’ve released a beta through TestFlight. Users don’t deserve this.
Great Web Browser
Still a great browser, but 11.01 seems a bit buggy and sometimes my tabs open as “about:blank” after closing and re-opening the app. I am not running any tabs in private mode either.
It was amazing until now
Suddenly I’ve got 2 address bars, 2 tool bars, search no longer works, my sessions aren’t remembered on restart. Everything feels broken. Help!
New version needs work
I’ve used this as my primary browser for over a decade. It’s been fantastic. The new rewrite has shortcomings however. The app freezes after starting it and then again about 20 seconds later. You can’t type or surf till these mandatory and intrusive pauses are done. I used to use the classic view which has been removed. The tabs are now an inch long and too much of the space is taken up with “… X” to make out what is loaded in each tab. I would prefer longer tabs and or a return of the classic view. Hopefully it will be updated and improve.
Best Browser for iOS
You can control pretty much everything. Get it. Jan 7 2026 left my latest “tip.” Well worth it. Invaluable app.
Just when you thought iCAB couldn’t get any worse…
Along with clunky tabs that only display part of the first word in a website title, or all appear as Untitled, inability to partially edit or delete as before, now it’s all or nothing. You either allow websites to track every move you make, you can now only delete the whole cookie or leave it as is. Lots of other features that have been eliminated or ruined. But now the big one. As of last update, you can no longer save webpages as PDFs. You get a single blank page. Also gone is verification that the pdf has been saved. You have to check your downloads after every single pdf is created. From the best browser in the universe for more than a decade to a completely destroyed, all but useless piece of junk. Sorry Alex. Why did you kill iCAB?
Good app but lacks documentation
Really good app for browsing on iPad with a desktop browser. I wish there was more help documentation, though. There’s so many features that I can’t make work, and perhaps I’m just doing them wrong.
Recent regression
Mostly great, allows you to specify access before connection. Oddly, most browsers allow you to search in the URL bar, icab, not so much
Fantastic app that comes loaded with crapware
It is an excellent browser but beware there are a lot of default modules and services from spy companies such as Facebook. You will need to delete these (not so easy, as they seem to respawn if you don’t first disable the module AND service before uninstalling) if you want a private browsing experience. The same goes for the search engines. Get rid of the ones you don’t want. After that, it is a good, flexible and responsive browser. If it was not preloaded with the rubbish but instead offered the option to instal what you want, it would be an easy five stars.
Best browser in IOS for many years
Good update! Thank you for the update. No other iOS browser comes close to this. It is very complex, so less intelligent people have a difficult time with it. It can do what no other iOS browser can do. The most powerful browser. Worth the effort to figure it all out. Have been using for many, many years.
New version SUUUUUCKS!!
I’ve been using iCab mobile for several years now, and it’s been a great browser. The changes the dev made in this latest version have made me move on though - it looks terrible, we've lost some of the customization, and some sites don’t even load properly. If you wanted to change the appearance, why not make it an option instead of forcing it on us?? I’m so bummed that an app I love and use for hours on a daily basis is now ruined. You need to FIX THIS.
HELP!
The latest update has made the app go crazy. Can't open it from anywhere, from the icon it flickers on for a fraction of a second and is gone. Love this app so hope it gets fixed. 😟

Got this because it allows downloads directly to iPad.. when it feels like it. Function is flaky. App also crashes frequently under IOS 12.1. Worst of all, if focus is taken from the app, returning to it often causes app to reset at Home Page. If fixes are made this could be great. Nic

This is the top iOS browser available if options and customization are important to you. If you want plain vanilla, don’t get this. However, if you want a fast browser and take the time to set it up your way, you’ll be pleased.
New update is a disaster
Been trying to make it work for weeks. Finally realized it’s not me, it’s the app. Been using this app since v1. Now I have to find a different browser. There are pages that won’t even load in this browser that load fine in every other browser. How is that even possible?

Was good once
Had this a while, for sometime now, it contstantly goes does not load pages as if you are offline, you have to wait for a while then searchs suddenly work. Loading google is the biggest culprit page. Please fix this. Would not recommend buying unless you want to wait around if they leave this broken sadly.
Almost too buggy to use
The more features I use, the more bugs I encounter. It also crashes far more than any other app I own, both from launch and during use. Yes, it is full of features. However, stability and reliability improvements are definitely in order.

Horrible update ruined a once great browser
icab used to be intuitive, simple, and felt focused on usability. It was a lesson on how to make a modern browser that had just the right features and users enjoyed using. The latest update tosses all that. Everything takes extra taps, from switching profiles, tap tap tap, to attempting to view or browse downloaded images. The photo viewer / slideshow was a feature of perfection, now destroyed with tiny buttons in the center bottom (you must literally set down your device and obscure the screen with your hand to tap arrows to swap between photos, as opposed to the prior right / left side of the screen tap. Oh, and Animated gifs? No longer browsable in the viewer without 'tap tap tap' to open each individually. Deleting all of your tabs randomly also seems to be a new feature. Usability is now cumbersome & feels like "work". The only good thing left is the independent download management, but even that has been updated to take more taps and generally be more difficult. icab now genuinely causes frustration and grief to use, which is sad to experience after over a decade of it being near perfection. RIP private optimized workflows, and RIP icab. If you haven't updated to 11, just don't.
Make more reliable
Still sometimes closes automatically when i am doing some crucial work on internet regarding my studies like doing quzies and exams online. Make this application more reliable. But anyways its better than safari.
Good browser, with an irritating flaw
I often use the browser to go on Youtube instead of constantly updating their app. But, the problem is, and it seems to apply on ANY site with video, you play the video not in full screen, then when you go full screen, the app will not respond AT ALL with any taps to pause, unless you minimise it, then open the app again and go full screen again. Please fix this bug it drives me crazy.

Why is it on my iPhone I can download videos just fine but on my iPad I can't download any videos anymore I click on the video and it don't come up with the download button anymore ?

Excellent browser but new version issue with password
Really like this browser, but twice now with new version the password does not work. It's a pain to set it up again after this happens. Fix the password issue and it's worth 5 stars.
