Love the flexibility of the tracker across exercise types
Great tracker which I mostly use to track walks both treadmill or outdoors. But it’s been good for hikes and other activities if I think about it! Tracks a great number of metrics including altitude, which I love. Love the pace and distance measurement too!
No longer supported :(
The app now requires iOS 16 so won’t work on my phone - it would’ve been nice to have some warning. MyFitnessPal still works so I suppose I’ll just have to ditch this app and find something else to fill the gap. In the meantime I’ll get my data from the website. Bye 👋
Recent Negative Changes
I’m a big fan of the app and have had it for a decade. I pay for the app so I have all the functionality, and to support the platform, so I’m pretty frustrated that the last few updates have added popup ads and notification ads. Ads are horrible and I do not want them. I pay for this app. Why are you forcing ads for paying customers? I quit watching television in 2011 because I really hate ads everywhere. Please stop.
No support
I have to use this app for work and the last 8 months only a few of my workouts are showing up for work. I have contacted support twice, but no help. At least one issue I have discovered, is my workout is not showing up if my watch died before I end the workout. Considering this is the only app running on my watch, I also wonder if it is the reason my watch is suddenly dying in just 2 hours.
Apple watch & missing activities
I have used this app for years and love it. It would totally be a five out of five if they can fix the Apple Watch issue. If I turn on the app on my phone, it will go onto my watch if I turn it on on the watch, it doesn’t go onto the phone therefore I miss things while I’m working out. Also, since I have back issues, I like to walk up and down in the pool… so I don’t get steps for this, but I don’t get real activity from the pool either Otherwise, it does a great job with yardwork, hiking walking, and anything else I needed to do!!!
Best fitness tracker ever and free
I have been using this app for years. It had never let me down. Has many trackable workouts and is easily synced with my apple watch.
Nothing but bugs
Wouldn’t recognize my email to create an account. The. It said I had an account but could t log in. Just deleted app.

At least once every three-four weeks, it does not track properly.
Outdoor run
The app is constantly pausing when I’m on an outdoor run and need to stop for traffic or slow down. So frustrating!

Suddenly app is glitchy
Been using this app, and loving this app for ages. But lately in the past two months, it seems to glitch, freeze, becomes absolutely unresponsive and it’s the only app that does this. I do have the latest update and I have updated the phone to the latest iOS so, please fix it!! Oct 2025
Not recording workouts 100%
Tracking/recording my workouts in this app are a hit & miss. Sometimes it does it & sometimes after I have finished a 50 min workout the time elapsed is barely 5:00 min. Very annoying and my app is up to date; there are no new updates for me to fix that bug.

Lost GPS at times
Workout tracker
App works great. Whether it’s lifting weights, playing racquetball or walking tracking my workouts are not a problem. I highly recommend.
Gym workout
It didn’t record my gym workout correctly I workout for an hour and it only got 26 minutes of it.

Ordinary when used with Apple Ultra 2
Activating from the watch means my morning commute is recorded at 7 mins rather than 30. Fairly consistent problem. App is ok. But when cycling the phone is put away.
At times it missing recording my activity
When it works and tracks, it’s perfect At times it misses recording my activity not sure why and when Only know it hasn’t recorded my hours of exercise when I finish it after hours and it had recorded only 19min🤦🏻♀️ Other than that when it works it’s perfect 👌
So simple yet thorough- GET IT!
I’ve been using this for probably ten years. It still has my old comments in here. I can look back and see, “oh let’s not do that. I see that in 2021, we didn’t like that trail.” Plus it tracks EVERYTHING! Well, it doesn’t have a specific “gardening” workout, dang it! But you can make your own. I love this app. It’s all I need. It works with my Apple Watch too and shows my path. Apple is not as versatile. I don’t see ads. I don’t pay for it. It’s wonderful!!!!!!!!!!

Not bad..i dropped Starva after 3 years. Does the app figure out if it’s a ride or a walk or a run?
Update suitable only for IOS 14 - no downloadable older versions available
Very poor inclusivity for those who cannot update to IOS 14 on older iPhones. There should be a downloadable workable version still available. Such a great UA App this is extremely disappointing. Now have to move to a different developer. Such a Pity. Poor Customer focus.
Doesn’t work
Been using this app for around eight years and it’s just gotten worse and worse. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve hit start to record a work out only to go back and stop it and find it never recorded.

The app is great overall, but then I tried to check my calories burned. It shows zero even if I walk 2.6 miles.
Great workout tracker
Love how all MyFitness apps work together but each covers a little different thing, it’s a great program. Keeps me on track👏🏼💪🏼
Apple User
This app doesn’t sync with the Apple Fitness/ Health, which is the main reason I am giving it a 1 star. I didn’t try to use it because of this.
Good App needs one more feature
Nice simple app that seems pretty accurate. One of my favorite features is the elevation gain. The one feature I’d like to see is a pin marker in the map for distance, for instance drop a pin at every mile walked or hiked.
Expect more
So I used to use the UA Record app which I found great. The current Map My seem to be geared towards running. The Map My Fitness app only has workouts for running. The Apple Watch app used to work, then it started to crash during a workout and wouldn’t quit and add extra workouts into the tracker. Now it doesn’t even load. There are a lot of activities that you can’t record, such as battle ropes, lying leg raises, using a step etc. Been very unimpressed by the customer services, most of the time they don’t even answer the question you ask.
Stopped syncing with Garmin Connect
I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the activity tracker, plus reinstalling the app. Nothing works and since September no workouts appear in MapMyFitness.
Terrible
New update is terrible and hard to use. Just today it won’t sync to mapmywalk or mapmygitness. Absolutely terrible
Update
I enjoyed the app for several months. Unfortunately, the recent update on MapMyFitness will not work on my current Apple Watch. Their update requires 9.0. The update shouldn’t have impacted the version of the Apple Watch currently used.

Good but Buggy AF
I’ve moved over from Strava as they stopped supporting heart rate monitors and paid for the MVP. The training plan and feedback is spot on and super useful, the app and user interface is a bit buggy. It often doesn’t track the time duration of my runs which results in no stats. After a year I have given up my membership, more often than not there were bugs and it just didn’t function as well as I needed it to.
Poor app quality
Quite disappointed after using this app since 2012 and doing thousands and thousands and thousands of miles I still cannot comment on peoples posts or reply back to comments on my feed disgusting

Maybe a harsh score
I am loving this app it is truly helping me to improve my fitness. However, there are minor things that prevent five stars, for example, I haven’t seen a treadmill option on the training plans.
Learning about the app
Slowly starting to use the app. The terminology for exercises is a learning curve. Not always what you might expect. Skipping - jump rope is an example but I’m learning

Where’s all the functionality gone?!
Used to be able to choose walk/run/cycle etc . All of this has gone and can only run. I’m a premium member and under armour have taken things away! Not happy

Profile data does not summarise correctly
Disapointed that the profile report does not work. I simply want to see what i have done this year which seems like fairly obvious stuff that paying customers would want from this app. When I set to to 2019 you can see its missing all data from feb to nov in summary. The data is in history I have been pretty active this year. Has no one reported this? I noticed it was the same earlier in year any chance we can get this fixed!? Apart from this the app is good I like it very much. But not being able to summarise your annul work is annoying.
GPS unreliable!
Unfortunately I’m finding the GPS for Map my Fitness unreliable whilst using my iWatch :(
