The best app for studying the Bible
This app have the best visual in my opinion and is completely free without asking to do any subscription. I can focus properly meantime I’m using it.
Study tools stopped
I’ve tried many times to get the study tools to work to no avail despite following instructions set by developer. I’ve re- installed HB after having to wipe my phone clean to be able to install latest IOS.
Simple
Great tool for reading
New update is poor
I can’t access the Bible download anymore. This has turned my 5 star rating to 2
No left handed option
I generally like this app - it’s good for referencing and personal interpretation. However it isn't accessible to left-handed users who wish to take notes. Without the option to switch the notes column to the left side of the screen (“primary column cannot be switched to notes”) it’s difficult to take notes with an Apple Pencil on the iPad and requires crossing over the screen.
Review of ‘Holy Bible’ App
This is the best Bible app I’ve ever been privileged to own. THANK YOU for the depth and breath of its ‘Help’ features - the text, Red lettering, the rich Commentaries from various authors and scholars, original Hebrew texts carefully interpreted, the scope for adding personal notes, the Search tool, the Bible-reading plans and much more - it’s got it all. This is the most complete Bible app that I know. God bless the designer(s). It’s a gift to Christendom and to the world. Thank you. Dr Johnson F. Ajayi, FRCOG, LL.M, UK, 3 January 2023.
Can't Get It To Run
FC on touching settings.
Good app
Good Bible app with parallel view of multiple Bible versions or languages. Easy to jump to a verse by sliding. But sometimes shows blank page and I have to restart the app.
I can't recite this
Double-check the whole app. There are some missing parts and verses of the scriptures, especially around the end of the Old Testament. So I don't know if I actually completely read the whole Old Testament.
Good, but the new menu is confusing
I have my Russian synodal and English versions running simultaneously which is great feature and used to be unique to this app. The design used to be simple to understand. I remember asking to get ESV and Paul Avery did it - thank you very much. I am not a fan of the new swipe down under the top bar to discover the menu feature implemented some time ago - it should be clear and visible - that’s where people have to go get help and adjust settings. I’ve purchased the study tools and like this feature - thank you! It’s still one of my beloved original Bible apps, But Blue Letter Bible overcome with a better design, audio commentary, wide range of translations and easier to navigate menu; YouVersion has way more Russian translations including modern plus their verse of the day and thematic studies tools are great. So bless your soul - read the Bible! God bless the makers - thanks!
Blessing
A wonderful app, the split screen of different translations has been very helpful
Share doesn’t work on the iPad!
It used to be my go to bible app but now the share doesn’t work on the iPad and hasn’t for well over two years!!!
Split screen ???
Don’t want the split screen. How do I get rid of it?
Bible
It was good before the update since the update I've deleted mine because find it very difficult to use and can't have the different versions of the bible anymore
Study Tools
I purchased study tools a few days ago and they still do not work although i have followed the steps. Now that I have purchased them it doesn’t let me press the restore purchase button so my money is gone. Apart from that it’s a good bible app.
Mr Kanda
Best bible version in Apple Store. Please add French audio as you did for English.
Dark Mode🌙
The app could do with enabling dark mode functionality, terrible UX for getting back to previous page once you’ve opened commentary or search & even using ‘history’ doesn’t give verses only chapters. It needs a serious revamp to catch up with more user friendly & awesomeness UX of competitors.
Very nice Bible
Nice user friendly app. I use it for my personal devotions and for studying, and find it useful and helpful, without being distracting. Thanks a lot! The only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars is because I wish it’d have more Bible Versions, esp. YLT.
Mr Ckarke
Great app, but of late kept crashing, Please please fix it as I am following a reading plan
Great app - please add the NIV
Please add the NIV to your list of downloadable translations - I hope NIV are able give access to the rights of use
Great app!
I really like this app. It's easy to use. My mum even downloaded on her iPhone too. I like how there's different translations. And it's cool how you can highlight the verses. Really cool app. update: this app is now very confusing. i don’t even know how to change to a different translation. it’s slow. and it keeps freezing and shutting down. can someone please fix this. not impressed anymore.
Needs more translations
Great app, but needs more translations. KJV, AMP, NLT, MSG. I’m willing to pay.
I Take It Back
Now it won’t stop crashing
Praise Jesus 😊
Excellent 😁praise Jesus
The app doesn’t work.
I can’t even navigate to a Bible book.
Great but not on iPad Pro 12.9
I love this app - it has everything I want, not least the ability to work in split screen so that I can take notes while I’m reading. The shame is that on my iPad Pro, the menus don’t render properly: all of the buttons on the menu screen overlap at the top, so that when I enter a menu screen, I can’t use it properly, or even exit the menu. I really hope it can be fixed soon because this app is exactly what I’ve been looking for for a while. Thanks for all the work you’ve done to make an otherwise awesome product.
Fantastic App
This is an amazing way to carry around with you not just one of the most important books ever, but a whole collection of them in various Languages and translations, along with study guides and all manner of enhancements, just get it, you won’t regret it. Resizable fonts andline spacing, Landscape Mode, Choice of versions, Great Navigation, just Brilliant. great job by the developer congratulations on a great little application, everybody should download it.
Won't finish installing
Gets 3 quarters done then stops and won't let me delete it either
Not the same
This app on my iPhone will read to me, the same app on my iPad will not read to me. Can anyone tell me why?
Quality bible
QuAlity bible app, good choice of versions, great study tools - concordance and cross references, traditional daily bible reading planner, ability to highlight passages for future reference - maps are poor, I seem to have lost my ability to write notes. I have used the app for several years - they continue to develop.
What's happened
This used to be a great Bible app before the changes! Trying to open the notes/commentary/highlights etc etc is a total nightmare now. Then when you do get it to open you click on a tool and it won't open!!! Please go back to original version!!!
The bible
Very good bible
Awesome Bible app
God’s Word in an accessible form, no internet needed as well.
Slow in response poor quality
If you are thinking about installing this app forget about it. Very slow, irresponsive to touch, crashes so many times. Wast of time.
Effective
Opens nicely and easily, and quickly, to Bible translations. Easy to navigate. First Bible app I turn to. Really like it.
Best bible app
This is the best bible app and it's free. I have been using this app for many years and I have been so impressed with it so much so that I was willing to give a donation to help with development. I cannot recommend this bible app enough! It is simply the best!!!
Crashes
Good app, but crashes when I try to change bibles
Mrs
This app used to be brilliant but the last update ruined it. I can't use my study guides in the same way or search on strongs in fact nothing is as good as it was Please please undo the update! Also where are the reading plans?
