What people like
- Simple interface for reading text
- Fast verse search function works
- Helpful highlighting and sharing tools
What they complain about
- Hidden subscription fees surprise you
- Hard to find navigation options
- App crashes or freezes often
- Login problems keep you out
Great app
Use this all the time. Very easy to use and nice to have the bible on my phone
….
Too hard to navigate
Old version
I like the old version copyright before much better than the new one. The original doesn’t say “ brothers and sisters” “ it took out miraculous signs”.
Voice
Can change woman voice to man voice
Dump AI
I really like the app but I’m finding that you are starting (maybe for a while) to introduce AI into your app. Quickest way to lose supporters.
Great
Great job sharing the word of God
Money
This cost to. Much money ( it cost 0.00) I am broke dont get this it’s cost will run u dry of money
Too many
Too many unwanted messages
why do i need to pay?
its a bible app why do i need to pay just to read the bible?
Just wanted the Bible
Too many bolt ons popping up. I just wanted a bible that is easy to read, highlight and navigate. I’m sure it does many other things but for my phone, I don’t want most of those features.
NIV Bible App
Easy Navigation
Find it very confusing
As an older user found the site hard to navigate.
Changes to the app
The text doesn’t fit the screen
Lots of bugs
The app use to work perfectly. I used it a lot but now it needs some kind of update that can fix all the bugs. You can’t read anything anymore
My must have app in my phone
I cannot do without this app. Just love it as it’s simple to use and navigate
Review
It’s been very helpful with breaking it down into the simplest terms. And helps you comprehend what is being said
Frozen.
Tried restarting but still frozen.
Searching
When l type in the chapter & verse, it frequently does not appear on my screen!!
Unintuitive saving function
Very, very frustrating. I cannot get passage to save. When you click the Save option, a popup window appears where one can change the category. I created a new one under “God’s love”, but for the love of Mike, I cannot get the passage saved under that category. Each time when I click “Change Category”, it opens up the list of categories, and I check the relevant one, and then what? I cannot close the popup window without needing to go back a few steps and losing the saved passage for that category. Nothing that I try, closes the popup!
Keeps having login issues
I'm disappointed because I encountered difficulties when attempting to log in to my account. It keeps saying can not log in.
NIV Bible by Olive Tree
I find this Bible very helpful in understanding the Bible.
NIV Bible app
So difficult to find a way of changing from one book in the Bible to another! Still puzzling this out!
MORE COLOURS PLSSS!!
I love this app it give me bible verses of the day and lets me highlight my verse so I don’t forget where they are but I would wish they would like let pick your own colours instead of just give you I little colours but overall it’s a great experience.
Hard to find things
When I want to change to a different book how do I find it? I got a lot of options which were no use
Awesome verses to wake up to
I love having Siri wake me up with an inspirational verse every morning! It’s great to be able to click on the whole passage and read the word. If there is one thing I would ask of the app would be if they could make it easier to find the familiar verses that I can’t remember the book, chapter and verse number of . I get frustrated when it says a verse that I’ve memorized doesn’t exist. Ex: I was trying to find the reference for “for thou art loved with an everlasting love”. I know it’s Old Testament but I can’t remember where.
Great app
This app is very easy to follow. It allows me to look verses up quicker than an actual bible.
Charged me £59 without warning!
I accidentally signed up to the free trial of the NIV study materials and it charged me the £59 (!!!) annual subscription without warning. This is a completely unacceptable way for an ostensibly Christian company to make their money.
Glitchy login
Would be great to fix the error of being asked to login every time I open the app. But otherwise great
Why do you need my details
Why do you need my detail??
Well thought.
Easy to understand.
Olive Tree App is the easy to read.
Olive Tree NIV App makes Bible reading easier, enjoyable and more accessible. The study tools available and highlighting is so helpful in remembering important scriptural topics. I love this Olive Tree Bible App - outstanding!
Weird
Literally Donald trumps in there
Great app
This is a great app, and I would love it to start up a search function.
New Update crippled the app
I just updated the App today. Now, it doesn’t work. I can’t look up verses. I can’t even open settings.
This version is corrupt
This Bible version defaults to some strange and unknown text, and did it on both my ipad and iphone. I could not change the bible version, and it remained stuck on this strange version with the unreadable text. It looked like Hebrew, but I think the app became corrupt. I had to use the standard Olive Tree app with the green logo instead.
grace
I leave knowing the love of Jesus christ will flow in and through me
Nov bible
I do not want this product!, I do not like to get a free app only to find there are monthly or yearly fees with no way to delete
The Inerrant WORD of God at my fingertips
My printed Holy Bible is my most prized possession so I don’t take it out of the house (I did once and mislaid it - I do not want to ever relive those few hours). The NIV Bible app saves my sanity and makes having my Bible close to me into a reality. With real time searching, I can find that verse just as I need it: can scroll Scripture on the train, bus, wherever and whenever I am on the move without fraying my nerves or my biceps (printed Bibles admittedly weigh more (homophone pun unintentional) than apps). What’s not to love?
Unacceptable…
I find it reprehensible that purchases via this app are never yours; they are embedded within the app… their use and function limited to their association to the app; some material apparently also entirely dependent upon being able to access the internet… It is conniving, controlling, and manipulative… I call that theft… pure and simple! If I purchase a book, I expect it to be mine… I didn’t hire it, I didn’t borrow it… I didn’t ask for charity… I paid for it… and it should be mine to use and do with as I see fit… so I expect to have the option to download my purchases for use outside of the app… More importantly… this, for me, does not represent the spirit or heart of the gospel, certainly not the gospel I am striving to understand and know…
Amazing app
Is great to have the word of God in my device! All the stars for this app.
Hard to navigate and switch bibles
The app is hard to navigate and switch bibles and compare various bibles. The bible texts are altered there’s edits to the content and the app makes you subscribe to it - it’s not free.
Can you answer the following question?🙏🏼
Is there any way I can share something in your message list as I love your message about the meaning of “He is Risen!” ? 🙏🏼
iOS version difficult to use
I have the windows version but the iOS version is difficult to use. Hope more research could be put into the user-experience research. A good example would be e-sword where it is relatively easier to use.
Simple
I’m thankful for this app. I used to use YouVersion but got tired of all the extra stuff getting in my way when I just wanted to read the Word. I appreciate how simple it is, yet it has the basic functions I liked about the previous app like sharing verses, highlighting, copying verses, and the ability to add the verse of the day as a widget to my Home Screen. Thanks 🙏🏻❤️✝️
Can’t see the whole text
The text comes up on the page, but when I move onto the next page a section is missed out as if it should be possible to move the screen up or down, when it’s not. I gave up and deleted the app
NIV App
Usually terrific! Lately I’ve been unable to select the verse I’m wanting to read. It selects the book, and chapter, but stalls on opening the verse I’ve selected… Is there a default button?
A suggestion
Using this app for quite some time, but it would be great if the scroll could be smoother. Thanks
