Used to be great
Previously would’ve given this app a 5 star review. Absolutely loved it. Now after the recent app update it no longer works for me. I will click play and it just doesn’t play any sound anymore.
Does not get along with Alexa+
Great app. I’ve been Brown Noise for years to sleep. I set it from my Echo Dot before I go to bed. The new Alexa+ does not recognize this app audibly, however. I’ve tried wording it many different ways. I can get it to work manually by disabling the skill in the Alexa app, then enabling it again. But this has to be repeated each time I want to turn on the White Noise app. Alexa+ defaults to Alexa Ambient Sounds, which does not loop like the White Noise app does. I’ve gone back to the original Alexa which still works for this. Please fix the issue with Alexa+.
Please stop these announcements
Half the time when I open this app I am forced through a series of announcements. I am a designer. I understand the excitement of new features and the desire for users to know about them. But you've got to see this from the user's perspective. When I launch this app it because I need some white noise right now. That is not the time to force me through a non-optional lesson in all the ways you, you, you have improved this app. The improvement in the experience most needed from you is respect for your users. This app is like a waiter at a restaurant who wants to be the center of attention, who wants to be noticed and watched like an actor on a stage. Instead of quietly keeping the water glass full he wants to interrupt the conversation to call attention to how he pours the water without adding too much ice. How the water glass is never left empty, because he is here to refill it. Perhaps he sins a song about his career as a waiter, and all the lessons he has learned about excellent service experiences.
Just get the free one
After using this for a bit (not to its full potential) I can’t really tell any major difference between the free lite version besides it works on an Apple Watch. Of course if you’re buying it for the extra features that’s fine but when if you just use it for sound, it doesn’t really change anything.
So many years of perfection
It’s hard to believe that I downloaded this app years and years ago and have never thought twice about it yet, it’s given me hundreds of nights of perfect sleep. Thank you for sticking with it and keeping the product sharp.
Stopped working
No longer works at all. Wants you to buy a different, more expensive one.
Bad change
Making users recalibrate sound levels is really inconsiderate. Plus, forcing users to turn up the volume can lead to overheating, reduced battery life and other headaches. Please “Ctrl-Z” that change ASAP.
Noise ‘glitches out’ every 30 seconds
Seems like it’s a .wav file restarting? Very 90s. Note: this is on brown noise, also seeing others with this issue.
Bug in update causes cutting out
Has worked flawlessly for years and been my go-to solution for white noise, but the most recent update on ios26 causes the sound to cut out and sputter, especially when connected to my Sonos system. This was not a problem before, but as soon as I updated, it became an issue. I've tried uninstalling, updating everything, disconnecting and connecting....still no solution. This will be unusable until it gets fixed.
My Favorite White Noise App
I love this app and have used it for years. The sound I play the most to sleep doesn’t have any background sounds that repeat, or irritating sounds. This is a great high quality white noise app.
Undo the last change to the volume
I used to have this play on the same Bluetooth speaker from my iPhone at 50% volume. After the update 2 days ago my iPhone now has to be at about 99% to hear it and it just suddenly jumped to blaring loud. Like the volume control is now broken. Please fix it.
Slightly annoyed
I love this app and use it a lot. Not just for listening to when trying to go to sleep, but I use it a lot when I’m reading books or newspaper articles when my partner is watching tv, because I don’t like the distraction. My annoyance is that, when reading newspaper articles, as I scroll down the page, the app cuts out and I have to go back into the app several times to restart it, as I go down the page. I realise that this is because there are videos on the news articles and the app obviously thinks I’m going to watch them, but surely, there should be an option for not cutting out automatically, if you are just reading?
Volume broken
Latest update completely messed up the volume levels. Put it back!
Swiping speed
It’s a great app with a good market of sounds, but they refuse to fix the swiping speed between sounds. It is almost impossible to move to the correct sound as the slightest swipe moves backwards or forwards by several sounds.

Incompetent programming
Stops working (emitting sound) periodically, and the only way to fix it is to uninstall the app and reinstall it. Has been this way for years.
Three beautiful sounds and they were free
Free, I said free. It’s like a miracle in this world where everything cost cost cost - I got beautiful sounds for free
Volume reduced
You ruined the app in the most recent update. The overall volume is half of what it used to be.
Good app/ scam at it’s finest
Downloaded the light version not knowing there is another one, then paid for the”regular” version, just to have to pay for a pro version. Deleting the app immediately and sticking with MyNoise. #annoyed
Physical and mental health!
This app is enabled me to fine-tune just the right white noise composition to drown out my partner’s range of loud breathing noises. 3 years so far of at least 95% uninterrupted sleep nights 👍🏽🤩
WN takes all lock screen place!
I don’t know why but lately when I lock my phone, instead of seeing my custom locked screen with background image of my girlfriend, all I see is White Noise taking all screen, this really sucks!
Excellent
Would be 5 out of 5 but there’s a loud pop-up which appears just after opening which is the last thing you need on an app that’s meant to help you relax. Otherwise, a well designed, easy to use and very useful app.
AirPods control broken
I used to love this app, but lately it doesn’t respond to AirPods control gestures like stop and play. Instead, Apple Music or Spotify starts to play. I have to open this app and manually pause now. So frustrating.
Good but uses a lot of battery
This is a decent app with lots of sounds. However when the white noise is playing it clearly uses a lot of processing power as the phone gets warm and the battery goes down very fast. Would be good if the devs could make it more efficient.

Stopped Working
Sucks I can no longer set an alarm between 2AM and 3AM. Stupid thing defaults to 3AM so it has become useless on those days I have to get up at 2:30 for work. Of to find an app that actually works.

App is completely inaccessible when trying to record a your own sound using VoiceOver.
The app is brilliant aside from one really annoying problem! When using VoiceOver to read the screen, you cannot record your own sounds as it is completely inaccessible so is therefore useless to a blind person. It’s even more infuriating being as I’ve bought the app. And if a user is paying for the premium features it should be accessible to all and not just sighted people,

Would recommend it to anyone working in an open environment that has too many conversations that distract you!! I'm a Brown Noise kind a guy, but there are a great many cool sounds at your fingertips.

Works good
Really easy to accidentally swipe sideways turning on a super loud random noise and wake your partner up! It’s seriously so annoying. Otherwise would be 5 stars, always works great. I never needed a white noise machine but now I love this and use it every night! Lots of silly noises to choose from that are stupid bc thats why ppl need a white noise machine!! (like shoes in the drier and trains going by) I wish the white noise one was more authentically white noise, but i use the air conditioner every night. Too bad only dumb ones are in the free version, but well worth purchasing.

White noise gives some relief for my 24/7 ear problem. Mostly the Cricket noises.

It was a great app when I was able to lock my screen and have it play…. Now that feature has gone away I’m ver mad about that I don’t understand taking away such a simple thing

I think this app is great for sleeping,relaxing though you might have to buy the other apps if you want different sounds. To the conclusion of my review this is a great app and I think it’s great
Old and lots of bugs
This app still looks like it’s 16 years old like something from 2009. I have had this app now for over 6 years. It used to work great but now a lot of things are broken and the layout is a total mess. Another negative is that the developer has forced its users for no reason at all to download a separate app after you have this one, just to be able to add in extra sounds to this app. This function could have easily been added into this app but it wasn’t and now I have to have 2 apps taking up space on my phone for this 1 thing I want to achieve. As you download new tracks and import them into the other app, there is no option of deleting the super old original sounds that the old app came with that you don’t want and will never use. The UI is in desperate need of updating: the bottom menu bar is really useless as one of the 5 available buttons is, ‘download’, which kicks you out of the app and sends you to the other app. I don’t want this on my menu bar. You would think there would be a button on the menu bar called ‘sounds’ that allows you to view a full list of sounds to play, but there isn’t. The button to see your available sounds is actually called ‘manage’. Why?? Instead in the confusion I have to open a side menu to find that function when it should be on the fixed bottom menu. I also confirmed the following bug: -Changing the speed and variance when editing sound in a mix no longer changes anything and the sound for speed and variance remains exactly the same. Unless the developer fixes the issues and gives a better and more updated UI more in line with 2025 and iOS18, I would recommend avoiding this app. It has good sounds but the app experience is just very old.
Pretty good, but....
This is a really good app, but the noises are much faster compared to White Noise Lite. I recommend that one if you’re looking for a slower setting.
Incredible
When I was in college in 2009, I searched for “white noise” in the App store. There this app was, and throughout the years and dozens of apps, this is still my most used. I have recorded different showers and vent noises over the years and I mix them together for some great sleeping. I can’t sleep without this app. I have downloaded many sounds from the devs market app; here community members upload sounds from all over the world. I appreciate everyone that participates there. This has had great updates over the years. I will be spending my next ten years with this app. I’d even bet that I will use this until my final days. Nothing has been able to replace it, and I have owned many different white noise machines. I love you devs, thank you.
Always missing sounds.
I have the paid version and initially found it to be pretty good . Now when I preview a sound or mix in market and try to download it, half of the sounds are missing. It's now hit or miss on how many are there. Really frustrating. I can hear the previews but it's a mystery why a few download but most come up with a warning "missing sounds". I wouldn't recommend this. If it was free I might put up with the glitches but if you guys are going to take my money it would be nice if it actually worked.

I love the app and it’s great for calming! But one thing bothers me. I find it a bad thing to download another app just to get access to more sounds. I mean yes people will download it,but for the people who don’t have enough space and don’t want to delete anything or download anything, it’s annoying.

Any time I switch to this app, after any other app on my iPhone might have generated a sound, I get a dialog box “Sound failed to play” and I have to press ok. It’s really growing tiring. This app used to have a simple interface and play a selection of sounds. It’s now quite bloated and very hard to navigate.
Does the job but a little buggy
Decent selection of sounds and the ability to make your own mixes is nice, but, it’s quite buggy with frequent freezes at startup and updates have a nasty habit of deleting favourites and mixes. Needs work on the UI and stability
