Excellent, minimal app
My one complaint is the search engine - searching anything other than the exact movie title will not yield the desired results
inaccurate information
A lot of movies show up as TV shows like Rooney Mara was in a movie called Mary Magdalene, but it's listed as a 60 episode TV show. It's really odd
Well designed app but…
This app is great, except for the search. The search box requires you to be very specific about word order etc. You can’t really search for something that you don’t exactly remember the details of. When I’m using an app to try and find info about media, I’m often going off a vague recollection of part of a title. If the search could be improved I’d probably use the app more. Currently I still often use the web or Letterboxd.
Stunningly good!
Things I especially love about the app: 1. No ads!! 2. Uncredited cast members are included! 3. Actors’ ages at time of filming are included! 4. Actual release notes are included, vs. generic “bug fixes and improvements”!! Clearly a labour of love, always being improved upon. Love it!

Why this app doesn’t work on apple tv
Great app. One navigation gap, plus small targets on Vision Pro
Callsheet is fast and focused, but there’s one thing that keeps biting me: navigation. After drilling into a few actors/titles, I can’t find a way to jump straight back to the Discover/Home screen across the apps I use (Mac, iPhone, and Vision Pro). It seems like the only options are stepping back through every page or quitting/reopening. If a “Return to Discover” command or shortcut exists, I couldn’t find it—please document it or add one. On Vision Pro, some touch/selection targets feel a bit small; slightly larger hit areas would help. I’m a paying subscriber and plan to continue because the app is excellent overall. Fixing this would remove my only daily annoyance.
Functionality behind pay wall
This app started out really nice but now you cannot pin anything without getting slammed by a pay wall, same for the search option which is now number limited.
A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ App Hampered by ⭐️⭐️⭐️ APIs
I’ve been hemming and hawing whether to make this a four-star or three-star review. It’s rare to come across an app that is so thoughtfully designed, with so much love put into it, but be frustrated by conditions outside of the developers control. I’ve subscribed to this app for over a year now, but I still run into little things that bum me out. All of this must be blamed on The Movie Database. IMDB is a closed system, there’s no way to get around this. But it’s still inadequate. For example; a lead actor in a STARZ series was once in an episode of LOST. I searched Callsheet to confirm if it’s this person, but they do not have any info on his speaking role in LOST. I switch over to IMDB, and there it is, one of his first roles, in IMDB’s system. A prime example of wanting to open Callsheet is hampered by the database it uses. Does this lessen the experience of Callsheet? I believe it does, but I can’t really fault the developer. It’s just a disappointment that lessens my joy out of a truly joyful app. My other issue is search. We’re in the 2024-25 TV season, which means I’m searching for TV shows at times. I have no idea why the results are… well, less than. If I’m starting to write “Saturday Night”, I imagine the results will either give me “Saturday Night Live” or the new film “Saturday Night” as the top result. They are third and fifth, respectfully. No clue who is searching for “Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway”. What if I try “SNL”? Well, it’s now dropped to tenth. Search and TMDB are my major limitations from ever truly recommending the app. If you are a person who loves well-designed, ad-free apps, this is ABSOLUTELY the one to get. For most everyone else? IMDB is still there, ads and all.

So fast and informative. I use Callsheet all the time. Helps me discover new things my favorite actors have done, even when they have credits from other countries and languages.

Best way to access information about films and TV shows
I really enjoy Callsheet and find myself regularly opening it when watching something or discussing media with others. It’s far superior and easier to use than alternatives such as IMDB, and is fast and reliable. The subscription model is reasonably priced and fair given the API calls required, and constant updates from Casey. It would be a five star for me if the UI and app icons were more to my taste, but that’s very personal preference. I would also love more options on the quick button available when viewing a film or TV show, such as being able to get straight to details like quotes, etc.
Ugliest icons
The alternate icons are painfully ugly. I would have liked a yellow icon to mentally link it as an IMDB memory connection. Those icons look like they come from the same people that designed Clippy for MS Word in the 80s.
Links still going to IMDB
Nice app but clicking any details and it opens IMDB instead of TMDB inside the in app browser. I thought this was supposed to help me stop using that service?! Wish I could log into my personal account and rate movies instead of IMDB popping up. Settings can be improved. It was confusing where some items were hidden. Overall I will try it for a week but not sure if I’ll keep the subscription. I can just log into my TMDB account and do more.
The Essential Viewing Companion
This is a must-have app for any avid media consumer. Fast, clean, customizable to avoid spoilers—there’s no better way to look up details about the movie, episode, actor, crew for a piece of media than this.
No Liquid Glass, in fact last update was 3 months ago.
Developers want more and more (understandably) but don’t keep up with timely updates.
5 stars but room for improvement
Really enjoying the app so far as a replacement for the IMDb app, which has become covered in ads. Still not quite on par with the IMDb app, but I’m hopefully by subscribing that the developer will come out with many of the features IMDb has and refine the current app further. One such refinement I’d suggest is if you have “spoiler mode” turned on, you should be able to tap on the blurred out part and it should show you the information. I like spoiler mode, but sometimes I don’t need it on for a show I’ve seen.
Lacking
Decent enough app, but if I’m going to pay for it I expect better “Where to Watch” results that are accurate. As far as I can determine this app does not include Kanopy in Canada. Makes me think it’s probably missing other services as well, which renders that feature useless.
Good but lacking some features
I love how streamlined this app is, and that there are no ads. The subscription price is reasonable but it’s missing some things that would encourage me to ditch the free alternatives. It would be nice to have more in-depth indicators of a movie’s quality, such as links to critic reviews, Metascore and Rotten Tomatoes score. Each movie has a rating, but it’s not clear where it comes from or how it’s aggregated (there doesn’t seem to be an option to rate or review movies from within the app).

Great app
One suggestion that I would find useful: the ability to restrict search to within a particular show or movie, to find a character name or actor name, etc. For example, I’m often watching something and I want to look up the actor playing a particular character. Or to look up the actor by name to find the name of the character they’re playing. But I want the scope of the search to just be the current show/movie I’m looking at.
A good start
This is a good app. As a replacement to IMDb, I would likely subscribe if the current TMDB rating system was swapped to IMDb's (or had the ability to be switched, at least). It would also be nice to read user reviews, but this is more of a nice-to-have request. Finally, please consider redesigning the app's icon. The current one is a hot mess.
Makes movies and TV better for me.
I love that Callsheet lets me quickly look up actors without spoiling things for me, and lets me pin things. I use the pins to schedule things to watch in the future, and the quickly access shows that I’m in a ongoing re-watch of to look up the guest stars.

Lovely app. Much better than IMDb of course. Would just like to be able to add stars and reviews like IMDb or Letterboxd too.
Disappointing tablet experience
Lots of white space when using it on an iPad seems like a big phone app, rather than a UI designed specifically for a larger screen.
Great app, so much better than browsing IMDB
To get information about the movies & TV shows I watch I have had to search through Wikipedia pages for the material I want to see or worse yet, through the IMDB website. This app brings all the info I want right to my screen. It is quick and I can pin the content I am actively watching to minimize searching until I am done with it. The developer continues to add features to the app and is quite responsive to questions.
Good App but only subscription pricing
Sorry, but subscription as the only option is a no go. A reasonable purchase price would be totally fine. Make it a yearly paid update or something but I don’t want to pay as much as an outright bought app and lose everything when stopping to pay. I learned this the hard way with adobe: paid the master collection for many years and I own NOTHING. can’t open my own files. So, subscription only is so out, Casey. Sorry, but 1 Star.
Good start
I love how clean this app is - no sign-up, no ads, no popups 🤗 Two nitpicks, one minor one and one medium one: The minor nitpick is that I would like to be able to see another score (e.g. the IMDB or RT score). The medium one: I love the feature to hide spoilers for TV shows, in particular I have been spoiled many times by episode count of a character. You can hide it in this app when seeing the cast for a show. But when clicking on an actor of the show it shows you all the filmography of that actor, and in that view it still shows the episode count for that TV show.

Wonderfully designed , speedy, simple and for 1.0 pretty complete too , on phone on couch it’s great. Happy to give you the money annually. Perfectly reasonable price. Only thing I want, is the Mac app support that you spoke of on ATP, hope you can turn that on, for those moments when phone is in another room and I just want to look something up; and some ipad tuning. Obviously built for people who love movies
So responsive, so delightful. Just a sample of the many niceties: it tells you the age of the actor at the time of making the show! Little details like that make this app indispensable.
