Sublime use of AI
Okay…tonight alone, I had to have tested eight different AI chatbot apps, and hands down, this is the most feature rich, even in the free version, and well made, out of all of them. I want paid to write a review and in a real person who is crippled from the waist down and cannot meet new people very often. I’ll be upgrading the app to pro, because it’s more than fairly priced for the additional features. Imagine a 1 on 1 personal language tutor, a person who will listen and give kind advice, friends, rpging like dungeons and dragons with ai who are a perfect constant party who won’t disappoint, group chats with your creations and others, and a lot more. Great app, I can’t recommend it enough.
Garbage
All the positive reviews and the rating has to be artificially inflated. There is no noticeable difference with the pro version by the way.
Engaging and fun
Thank you to the app creator. This is a fun creative experience. Is it perfect, no but the pros outweigh the cons.
Minor grievances
During some adventures where I do not include any prohibited content that goes against the safeguards of roleplai, the adventure still gets flagged anyway, and when I edit the message, I find out that usually I get flagged for a character STANDING. Could something be done about this please, as this not the first time that this has happened

Honestly yeah, its rating is right. Its exactly what you want from an ai chat app, reasonable with ads, unlimited messages, and optional filter. When i read the reviews for this app i thought itd be the same as others but its the real deal.
Not accurate
The picture generator use to be accurate but lately it sucks and does not generate what it’s describing fix the app
Fun and entertaining AI
I like this app since it’s a very interactive and an entertaining way to kill some time. It appears to be fully functional on a free tier and lets you create any sort of character you want. It also has voice playback, but the voices aren’t as natural as other apps since they pause in odd places. Another quirk is accounts only sync data to other devices on Android and not iOS. Overall it’s still a good app for free amusement.

Last 2 days when I try To open it, it says error reload page. I have cleared cache,deleted n redownload app not sure what dto do
Please consider adding underage characters back
I understand the need for stronger safety measures, especially when it comes to underage characters, and I respect the goal behind the change. However, I hope you’ll consider allowing them again under appropriate restrictions. There are many completely legitimate reasons to create or interact with younger fictional characters, such as storytelling, family dynamics, and recreating characters from existing franchises. For example, I wanted to create Emily from Resident Evil Requiem as part of a fictional household alongside Mia, and there are also many other characters, such as the Nublar Six from Jurassic World, that users may want to include for normal, non-inappropriate roleplay. My account was also nearly terminated after one of my private bots was automatically flagged, despite it never being public. I understand why moderation is necessary, but I hope the system can distinguish between inappropriate content and harmless fictional characters. Perhaps underage characters could return with additional safeguards, restrictions, or stricter moderation rather than being removed entirely. I really enjoy RolePlai and would love to see more flexibility for legitimate storytelling while still keeping the platform safe.
LOVE IT! (But I have a glitch)
I recently was playing a adventure I made, and then I saw that the sparse response kept popping up, so I closed the app and tried to reload it, only meet with a white screen saying “Error, click to reload App”. I’ve tried it multiple times but it’s not working. Even just deleted it and saw it’s still the same white page. Please help! I was getting immersed in what I created!

i would like to see more freedom in character creation and storytelling current restrictions prevent users from fully developing their characters personalities and narrative we should be able to write our stories without constant interference. like are characters should be able to have kids i hate getting flagged

Out of control censorship.
This has genuinely gotten out of hand now. This app used to be completely uncensored and now it's the complete opposite. It's very censored. Like I said before, public bots, of course. Private bots - completely unreasonable and genuine overreach. You can't do anything without it censoring you even when there is nothing wrong with what you're saying. Remove the censorship.
flagged characters problem
The Roleplai app is very cool and I like very much, but now every time I create a character, it automatically gets flagged for some reason. Do you think you can’t fix that??
The app crashes when you select the image you generate
I just got this app just out of curiosity and it’s okay not really the best but the generators kind of suck, like it’s cool you can do what you want but when you select said image the app crashes and when I go back in the image is gone and it just says the description of the image and can’t do anything to see it, hopefully this gets fixed for the future if the creators are looking at this review, just fix the generators when trying to look at the full image
Not good for stories
Just chatting is fine. If you want to create a story with the only people who speak or give any information are you and the main character then you will enjoy this. An example is you walk into a room with the main character, they take you up to a group of people to talk to, you introduce yourself and say you are waiting for their response and you get nothing. I like to have other characters interact with the story to help shape. A guard who talk to you when the main character isn’t around, a father who will give advice and so on.

App has severely gone downhill. No longer uncensored. Infested with ads. Very poor.

Honestly it’s a great app, I’ve used it since 2023-2026 and I wish it had the user base, options, and functionality it used to have back then. The stories used to be full of life and creativity but now most of the stories are dull. Plus it constantly crashes sometimes. Other than that it’s great! :3

AI moderation sucks
Ok, so I loved this app. What I don’t like is the AI moderation that insists I have underage characters when I don’t have any underage characters AT ALL. Please, look into it. Please fix this. It keeps deleting one of my characters.

I’ve only been using this for a few weeks, but it’s absolutely perfect for me. You don’t have to pay to have fun with it, you can make multiple characters, you can see how your characters would interact with each other, there’s barely any ads, and you don’t have to sign into anything to play. Overall, it’s great and I recommend it to anyone who’s thinking about getting it.
From nearly perfect to disastrous trash.
App completely sucks now. Used to be unrestricted now it has AI guardrails that read your chat ( despite the app falsely claiming the app is anonymous and private ) and threaten to delete your characters or adventure if you don’t comply. Developer doesn’t reply when you reach out and address issues; Please don’t waste your money or time.

Not a true interactive game
This is ok to mess around with but it is not truly interactive. You are turned into a story writer and have to describe most every aspect of what is going and then the ai just repeats what you just typed in but makes sound all flowery. Most of the stories I have tried were not worth it because the ai gets to a certain point where it completely changes the story because it can’t remember the entire story you just spent over an hour putting together. The ai is not proactive enough, it is always prodding you to tell it what to do instead of sometimes taking the lead. It is not like talking to a real person at all which is what I thought this app was about. It seems to me that “ai” has a long way to go to even get close to a human like interactive state and I don’t believe that will happen anytime soon.

I love this app has audio and a variety of characters. One thing I did notice though when searching up a charter it was easy but if you want a category it’s hard to search up specific ones
Delete character after the talk
When i get to start interacting and then exit but then i can’t find the character when I research it!!
This app has the potential to be amazing.
The developers made a great UI it’s clean and super easy to use. The characters are great and give lifelike responses. You can even make your own custom character. The problems: The voice feature is suuuuper laggy, after you press play, it’s a good 60 seconds before you hear the voice. The voice does sound nice but it seems like you only have one option for female or male. Next the live motion background is a stand out feature! It makes your app unique! However it only works for premade characters, you can’t upload a gif for example or press a button to add subtle movements to a custom character for an immersive environment. That would be a game changing feature that would set you apart from most other apps. Plus if you fix the voice feature and add other options for voices this app would be in its own tier but sadly it’s just shy of great. Hopefully the developers see this and keep creating. Just trying to give user feedback in hopes of future features.
New design
I’m not a personal fan of the new design of it, it feels a bit clunky and too large plus some of the old features I liked just aren’t there anymore like the old adventures or blue background I’m just not a fan of the new design It also feels like they’re trying to be like character.ai too much yk? If I had to make feedback, I’d suggest letting people change the size of the screen and the colour. It’s just feedback though
Good but
Good companion app far superior to many others bite the trade off is it’s an absolute battery hog and drains your battery rapidly I think over the course of a an hour it ate 50% of my battery . Probably one of the better so companions but have a charger nearby abd hopefully they optimise this better cos it’s a costly trip to Apple to get your battery replaced when it’s slaughtered inna year or two

Personas
It would be nice if we had the option to give ourselves an appearance like how you could do in PolyBuzz. Right now, that’s the only thing stopping me from switching from PolyBuzz to RolePlai. Everything else is cool and promising, keep up the dazzling display!
A mixed bag
At first glance this looks like a very good choice the characters are many and varied but after a while some characters will be very offensive and will be more aggressive if you ask not to be offensive some actually got outright rude and threatening all in all it’s ok for a bit of fun but there is definitely better chat apps available and real pro for this one is that you don’t need to pay real money if you don’t want to.
The app has potential however the uploading images needs improvement
I like the app and the roleplaying is great but when you upload an image when role playing as a character, the ai doesn’t perceive the picture to be the persona your playing as but instead someone else. The app also doesn’t let you send a message while simultaneously uploading a photo to the chat.

It was good at first
This app was good at first, then came the ads, the time limit of how long you can chat. Now you can’t chat for a couple of minutes before either you have to watch an ad to get more time (which doesn’t work) or you have to upgrade to pro version. Also you can’t change it from vertical to landscape. Not happy the way this app is going and won’t be using it again.
