Best healthy food app I’ve tried
I recently downloaded this app and I am very impressed! There is so much variety in meal options, with something for everybody. I get so excited to make healthy choices because this app makes it so easy - the recipes are quick, easy to make and genuinely delicious. The shopping list, meal planner and nutritional information also makes shopping and meal planning effortless. Highly recommend getting this app!!
Thought I struck gold
Subscribed because I absolutely love the meal options I have seen on instagram through the owner (stand to be corrected). Used the app for most of our families meals some last week when I paid for the subscription. All of a sudden since last night my app does not log on, I have deleted and switched my phone on and off but it no longer logs on :(. I now have an app I paid for to use until 3 May and I cannot email anyone to help me with this issue other than log this review today. The app has great meal options and love the tracking but since I can’t use it, what’s the point. Disappointed is not the word 😔
Life just got simpler
Got the app 2-3 weeks ago. I have a toddler and a newborn and planning our meals on here has really simplified life for me. Love that my toddler loves the food and I am smashing my protein goals. Plus our weekly grocery spend is less. Only thing I would love to see is higher quality photos of the meals and maybe photos showing the preparation steps.
No test period
I’d love to be able to test / use a few functions without having to pay the heavy monthly subscription, especially because previous reviews comment on glitches…
Good can be improved
I genuinely love this app and use it regularly for meal planning and calorie tracking. The recipes are probably my favourite part. They’re simple, family-friendly and full of flavour, and I love that they prove basic food definitely doesn’t have to be boring! As a South African, the food database is also fantastic. So many of the products and foods we actually buy are already available, which makes tracking much easier. I also love being able to add ingredients from the meal planner straight to my shopping list. There are a few improvements that would make the app even better: • Being able to go back and edit previous days when you’ve forgotten to log something. • Better filtering in the meal planner. Finding recipes can take quite a while unless you remember the exact recipe name. I’d love to filter by Favourites, New Recipes, etc., rather than scrolling through every dinner option. • The ability to adjust a recipe when logging it. For example, if a recipe includes avocado but I leave it off my serving, I’d love to remove it from my logged portion rather than having to log the recipe exactly as written. • Cooked serving weights in grams would be incredibly helpful. When tracking calories, knowing the uncooked ingredient weight doesn’t necessarily help when you’re standing at the stove trying to portion cooked mince, chicken, pasta, etc. The meal planner can also be a little laggy at times, but overall this is a genuinely useful app that has made feeding my family while keeping track of my own nutrition much easier. With a few usability improvements, it would be brilliant.
Life-Changing in No Time
I am very new to the Health-e App, but it has already changed my life. It makes having breakfast, lunch and dinner ready for me and my husband so easy! The amount of recipes available makes it even more convenient. Loveee every single “bowl” recipe on the app!! Thank you Uleen and team— truly incredible.
Unfortunately cancelled my membership
App freezes, rather prefer my fitness pal and a physical cook book than this subscription model , my physical low cal book I bought is much better for me

Ongoing disappointment
I’ve had this app now for longer than a year. I wanted to cancel my membership but it renewed before I was able to cancel it - so I am headed for another year of frustration. Even after the “major app update”, it still glitches at least once every time I use it. It really is very poorly developed. When I try to save a recipe to a certain day - the wrong recipe saves. TIME AND TIME AGAIN. When I try to search for a recipe - a random 10 recipes appear, and obviously not the one I was looking for. There are also not many new recipes that are added. If I could give 0 stars I would. Sorry guys, but you have to know.

The app is lovely and easy to use. There are a few recipes that don’t have specifics to the recipe - like the oven temperatures for example but overall it is super basic, super easy and so many recipes to choose from as well.
Great concept
I do think the concept is wonderful and really enjoy the function where I can search an item and find recipes with it in. Although i think the amount of recipes is still limited, i believe this will improve with time. The fact that it can also track your calories and macros for you is great.I do think it still needs a few tweaks here and there, but i think in a few years it will be beyond amazing. I think it later workout programs could be added it would also level it up.

Great app
I subscribed in 2025 and really enjoy the recipes. However, changing meals—like moving lunch to dinner or removing a recipe—was a bit tricky. I haven’t renewed for 2026 yet, but I plan to. The app is a great idea, especially with its shopping list and calorie tracking features.
Easy and tasty recipes, slow app
I have used this app for many years now and I only make these recipes. I love that they are calorie conscious, yet you can still enjoy so many fan favourite meals. The only downside is that the app can be a bit glitchy.
Signed up again because it’s that good!
I used the app before and ended up cancelling my membership, but I always remembered how much I loved it. With our schedule being busier lately, I still want to prioritise nutrient-dense, balanced meals for the whole family (toddler included), so I decided to sign up again and I am so glad I did. Health-e really takes the mental load out of meal planning and helps me stay on track with my personal health goals. Such a game-changer for busy households!

I find it draining to think “what’s for dinner?” every day. This app makes it so much easier with a good variety of meals that are healthy and balanced!
Love the content, but laggy app
I absolutely LOVE this app for its content, it is very user friendly, and makes life so much easier to eat healthier and have plan better. However, I find it very laggy, it takes me often over a minute to load to meals, sometimes not st all and I have to open and close the app, if that can be approved, this app would be 5 stars
Truly and undoubtedly my most used app
This app has changed my family's eating habits, helped me as a mom of two toddlers make more healthier conscious choices. Shopping - no more stress. Time - Way more efficency, I actually have more time to spend with my kids cause cooking dinner is THAT easy. Delicious - It's husband approved. Thank you Uleen x

Why I LOVE Health-e
I’ve been absolutely loving using Health-e Simplified! It’s such a convenient and well-thought-out app, especially if you’re focused on high-protein, healthy eating. There’s a great variety of recipes which makes it easy to stay on track without getting bored. Everything is simple to follow and genuinely delicious. What really stands out for me is how helpful it is for staying organised — from tracking calories to automatically creating shopping lists, it takes so much of the stress out of meal planning. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to eat healthier while still enjoying their food!
Life made simpler
I never use to plan out meals and often ended up ordering in but then i loose control of calories and often compromise on healthy options. This app makes planning and shopping much more structured and convenient. Suddenly i use all the ingredients in my fridge!
