LEGENDARY APP
God bless the creators of this app
App so Glitchy
I have never been able to use the app. Trying on desktop. Loads forever and nothing happens. :(
Mama
So far this app is helpful but doesn’t give you more options with preferences when setting up. I have a big family and I like many options. Please change!
No oversight
Anybody can post anything. There is no governing body that checks into claims that a review is incorrect. Example- Grimaldis in Sparks NV is still listed as a good choice when avoiding seed oils. Many people have posted that the information is incorrect but no change has been made. Old New York deli is listed as 5-star, no seed oils present. I just called and they have no idea what is in their mayo, which is the base for their dressings and sauces. It’s a great staring point but shouldn’t be used without verifying.
I wanted to love it
I was excited to try seed oil scout. As a Health and Wellness Nurse Coach, I’m always on the lookout for helpful things to recommend to my clients. I tried the app for the free trial and then purchased it so I could use while traveling. The problem that I have with it is I don’t know that it’s accurate. I dined at a restaurant that had the highest rating “dine fearlessly”. I was suspicious for a few reasons - 1. I’ve never found some of the items on the menu to not have seed oil in them unless handmade and these things weren’t. 2. The texture and appearance of the “butter” on the toast were the same as would be at any normal restaurant. 3. I spoke to the owner and told her how I had found the restaurant on the seed oil scout. She got a little evasive and uncomfortable, she said “I don’t know how we got on there but I’ve been told by others that we are”. So for those reasons I was not reassured that what I was getting was 100% seed oil free. It seems like anyone can add a restaurant to the app without really knowing the truth. I will continue to use the app but will also continue to dine suspiciously no matter what it claims. Hopefully there will be a more trustworthy method of verification in the future.
Great app
Worth $25 a year, I love the app as someone who is cautious about their health and loves to eat out on dates.
Not free
This app is a subscription. I think that is insane. I can’t even use the app to search anything you get stuck on the Home Screen and it says loading. I would not recommend this app to any users. And no I will not pay to search restaurants on an app. I could see if part of the app was free and part wasn’t. But you can’t get past the Home Screen.
Newbie
So glad for this app! Cant wait to use for eating out and scanning!
Eating Healthy
Great Information
Apps Broken
Sounds like a great app. I wouldn’t know because every time I try to use the app it gets stuck on the dine screen loading and it won’t let you do anything. I hope this gets resolved soon so I can actually try out the app and see if it’s any good.
Should be free
I truly think there should at least be the option to search for restraints / be able to scan products without needing to pay, otherwise you make the movement look like it’s exclusively a luxury service/financially motivated rather than a serious concern people should be looking into , and/or make it so we can be reporters because only 2 restaurants in my town are in this app and I’m disappointed I’m not able to put in data for any restaurants
Love it
Just got it and it is so helpful, provided a full list of locations s near me and has so many features, not just deep oils.
Subscription required
Genuinely greedy people run this app
Make a free version
Make a free version for the app to get more people to use it so more restaurants are on the app. Make some features locked behind a paywall. If more people use the the better the app works. Especially internationally.
Nice app!
Just wish there were more restaurants in my area that avoid seed oils
NO FREE TRIAL
App said free 3 day trial then would charge $24.99 for the year. NOPE. Charged me immediately. And then the “contact us” page on their website is a 404 Site Error. Screw this app.
Nice for USA, not for Netherlands
Seems not much going on in the Netherlands. Saw 4 restaurants, all orange… Checked New York City, seems theres 100s of safe places. Sounds great!
Clean Eats
Very useful app for eating clean.
Horrible app UI design
The app wants to take you around the world then let you start using it. Poorly designed as it doesn’t get to the point and do the first thing it’s good at. Scan the product let me try but for you force me to add too much info I don’t even care about. What I care about is scanning a few products to see if it’s even working before adding more information than filing for a driver license.
Helpful App
Thank you for this app. I travel a lot and this app helps me find healthy restaurants. I would like to also see grain free options as I am also allergic to corn and anything derived from corn like corn syrup, maltodextrin, and dextrose. Thanks
Charged
I downloaded the app and signed up for a free 7 day trial, but the day I signed up they charged me 30$ and I didn’t even get a free trial in which I tried to canceled but was already charged the day I downloaded it
No way to contact for support
I do like the app very much. However when I need to contact someone regarding my account there is no option for that. The report a problem does not offer the option I need. I have paid a $34+ subscription for about 3 years I think. Today in my email from SOS I was offered the SOS Pro for $19+ a year. I prefer not to overpay for this app by $15. EVERYONE wants me to subscribe these days. Can you please change my subscription to 19.99 a year? Thank you so much.
Scammed into being charged for the annual memberhsip
Horrible app. I was forced into a free trial with only the expensive annual option available to even see the app. It explicitly promised to email me before charging, but they never sent an notification and immediately hit my card for the full year. I tried to use the free version, but the app locks you out until you accept the trial trap. Check online - there are long threads of users facing the exact same scam. Do not trust this app.
It’s the best
I’ve found my favorite restaurants all over the US using this app. I don’t think I would’ve found many of the places that I’ve found that fit all the categories of what I look for in a restaurant
None in my city
Non
Superb
One the most important apps on the App Store. We use this every time we travel and it is the reason I’ve found my favorite restaurants in my own ever-growing city. Thank you SO much!
Not usable on my iPhone 15
Unusable for me. App does not seem to work on my iPhone 15, I can’t sign in, I don’t get their verification email, when I try to open it without signing in it gets stuck.
