Thought it wasn’t evil
I was excited that upon starting a game I wasn’t barraged with ads but this isn’t the only sudoku game that doesn’t barrage with ads so that not a major win. The major downside to this game is for it to remain “not evil” you have to pay to play more than 1 game a day. That’s evil at its core. If I can play multiple games a day (like I want) for watching the occasional ad that would be better but the developers don’t understand that a person may want to play more than one game. This game is definitely evil and I won’t be reinstalling it. Thank goodness there are others to choose from and sudoku games aren’t rare to find. Don’t bother wasting your time or money on this one!

I love sudoku, and not evil sudoku is perfect, except I cant’t write with my pen. I’d be willing to pay the one time fee for everything in the app if I can write my numbers in,,,
Could be better…
A fun program, but it has some bugs. The app often opens briefly and then immediately closes. Reopening it then closes immediately again. Furthermore, the app often doesn't respond to taps on the screen. When I want to change cells or select notes, I often have to tap several times before the app responds. This makes playing very slow and cumbersome. I can't report the problem because the link is invalid.
Actually is evil
Changing the free model to give users one round a day is greedy and cynical. Shame.
App lives up to its name
(Tldr: if you just want to play Sudoku, look no further in the App Store. This app is perfect.) I’ve been really impressed by this app and it’s author. The app has continued to be refined with each released update. The app has only gotten more user-friendly and even less evil (if possible). There’s no ads, there’s no BS, there’s no jankiness. As silly as it sounds, it’s honestly a refreshing experience seeing an app have this progression, even if it is just a silly Sudoku app.

Great but missing key metric!
I love this app and play it nearly every day now. No muss no fuss no ads clean raw limitless sudoku madness! I have been in sudoku world only about 18 months now (I am 60) so a latecomer, and after watching many YouTube videos and spending months doing the picky pencil marks i am now rawdogging as the kids say using pure intuition and it IS WAY MORE FUN like this.I am consistently ranking in the top 100 world at the “hard” level, but I feel like a cheat! There is no sign or evidence how many mistakes I made! I could rank first and make 20 mistakes and no one would know! Even me, I don’t know for sure because I am racing along trying to finish in 4 minutes, or beat my personal best which is 3min38sec. So, whoever makes this game, please make it a tiny bit better, add a counter to it or build in some time penalty for mistakes, I really feel like an imposter ranking 38 in the world (your world, je sais) when I know I made 4-5 mistakes that game. I am a lousy cheater! I love you.
Was good before…
Honestly, the app was perfect with its unlimited games up until it was placed behind a paywall. Would recommend using other sudoku apps for unlimited games unless you like seeing where you are in a leaderboard
disappearing numbers glitch
Lately I've been experiencing a glitch where, whenever I close the app, numbers I filled in will disappear, or they'll swap around to incorrect spots where I did not place them.

Could have been good
lures you in with no ads and a nice interface, then slaps you with only allowing you to play one game per day unless you pay. might as well just play a game with ads. lame.
pretty good!
genuinely no ads. number highlighting (without highlighting rows or columns). doesn’t penalize for errors (that i know of). only thing is that the hard games aren’t super hard. i only ever use this sudoku app!
This app is hardly “not evil”
Before you read the rest of this, note that the cost of premium is just a one-time five dollars; I maintain the rest of what I said— I find the presentation disingenuous and the gameplay unremarkable— but keep in mind that the cost of premium is not entirely unrealistic for the average buyer. This app’s main selling point— that it is “non-evil” due to its omission of advertising— is just sort of complete bunk. The issue with ads is not that they are evil, or even just because they’re annoying; more so, it’s the fact that their usage is obstructive to the user and unasked for. With that in mind, why even make this point to begin with? Why attach the premise of the app to this idea of “not being bought” by advertisers, while profiting in much the same way that you would be if you did run ads? Money is money; just because you’re making it through a pay-wall doesn’t make it any more righteous from your end. Moreover, the subscription isn’t even like an expanded version of the app, it’s more like what’s expected from a sudoku app like this; that, and the restrictions on the unpaid version are completely wild: without paying, you can play one game every NINE HOURS. I mean seriously, does that really seem like a realistic time frame for most people? At most, that amounts to two games a day within two different uses of the app, most people could probably only get one. In summary, this app profits in much the same way it would be by running ads (through the collection of a subscription), maintains the image of a moral high-ground where one doesn’t exist, and obstructs any player’s use of the app infinitely more than by just running ads, which in no world would restrict play as this pay-wall does. In other words, this app is no better than your run-of-the-mill ad farm— perhaps worse. It would be a different story if this app was marketed as “Serious Sudoku”, or just as a hub for a more strategical, higher level of play offered at a premium: there are some features here that I imagine could be used to track and improve one’s ability, and it’s entirely fair to ask a price for your services. But to hide behind the guise of morality, all the while adding a pay-wall for a reasonable level of play is disingenuous, and at this point, in my eyes, there is no reason one should go out of their way to get this app over another. 2 stars for false advertising, restrictive gameplay, and an industry-standard, unremarkable interface.

Having to pay to play another sudoku (and not one every 6 hours) is ridiculous. And evil.

Great Sudoku App!
I love this app so much and use it all the time, I just wish there was a harder difficulty than hard for further progression, because hard has gotten pretty easy at this point. If a wider range of difficulty is added I’d give it a 5 star easily.
It’s ok
It’s a really nice game but you can only do one puzzle per 12 hours and the designs are not all that cool.
Not evil
It is indeed a game well made and not evil. Though I do find the pricing of the pro surprisingly high and not deserving of the word “inexpensive” for what it truly is - a game of sudoku readily available in great variety and quality were you to perform a google search on the name. Without pro, you can play only one game a day. I’ll not spoil the price tag, maybe you could find out on your own and decide if it’s worth it. For me it isn’t, but I still recommend anyone curious enough to try it out.

You can feel the person that made this actually cares about the game. Not spamming ads everywhere just play unlimited sudoku forever, easiest sudoku app i’ve used by far

Over all it’s really pretty and I like the little vibration it makes. I wish I could choose more colours but maybe that’s in the upgrade. It very hard to hit the actual box they are so tiny and it doesn’t highlight it enough so I can tell if I am hitting it enough. I was also really excited to be able to change the game more but you can’t really. You also can’t save progress which sucks. It seems like a good idea just a few things that bother me to much.
No ads is great, but rooms for improvement
Pros: - no ads!! (a big one) - tapping on any number on the board can show the locations of the others - numbers on selection bar dim after they have been all shown on the board Cons: - that will be great if notes can be eliminated automatically after the same number appears on the same row/ squares - that will look better if the notes can show numeric sequence, not the input sequence (just my personal preference) - color/ brightness of notes is too similar to the number provided by default. Appearance can be adjusted for easier distinguishing. Overall, I was quite enjoy playing it. Keep it up!

16 hours in between each game
you’re only allowed to play 1 game every 16 hours. not worth it at all.
Too pricy
I would give it five stars but the pro mode is too expensive for just getting unlimited games. Everything else in pro mode is kind of pointless. If it was $0.99 I would recommend it and change my review.

i went to play new game and it had a 45 second counter saying “see you in” i couldn’t press anything within the app to continue playing. what the point of this? if i’m not gonna wait for ads why would i wait for that?
Good interface
The interface is really good and the design is clean and neat. But you can only play one Sudoko every 5-6 hours which is very disappointing. On a longer train/car ride I want to be able to solve multiple Sudokos, not just one.

Argh it is Evil 🥴
I love the design and the lack of ads. Unfortunately, I paid for the plus version before realising that you can only add in 4 ‘notes’ (possible numbers) into each box and that the notes will disappear if you close the app. I love playing hard sudokus by working out every possible option for each box. I’ve solved fiendishly difficult ones like this, sometimes taking several days, and I was in the mood for something similar but unfortunately this app isn’t it.
Why do I have to wait 4.75 hours to play another round?
Yes it’s ad free but why 4h45m wait to play a second round? Especially when it takes like 3 mins to solve an easy puzzle? You have the option to pay, of course - but it’s nearly forced.

Really, you have to scroll to see… no, not the figures, just buttons with blue pixels on them. What is the timer for, if you need that much time for scrolling up and down?!

Refreshingly unobtrusive
Exactly what it says on the tin, no ads, no palava, just good clean sudoku. Downside is you only get one game a day, but the pro version solves that.
peaceful in here
only problem is that speed demon is a little buggy sometimes but i can resolve it easily by closing and reopening the app. i dont even mind that little bit of friction. it makes the app endearing to me
Evil enough
If you entire selling point is being better than your competitors, why would you make your app unusable without a subscription… I understand that you have to make money somehow but your app isn’t miraculous enough that it warrants charging a subscription just to play multiple games of SUDOKU IN ONE DAY. jfc
Greyed numbers
Hello, I like the game, nicely designed, and I like having one puzzle a day to look forward to. 2 things that i would ask to change - 1) the undo button; if I’ve ‘penned’ a number in wrongly and I undo it, then when I undo it doesn’t replace the ‘pencil’ numbers I’d already inserted. 2) if all of one number has been completed that number is greyed out at the bottom - but if, for example, I want to clear out a pencilled number from a square I can’t because it’s greyed out. Otherwise it’s a cute app, thanks!
