Good to go
Most recent update fixed my problem! Tbh this app fixes something I miss since transitioning to iOS from Samsung, days until / countdown
Scammed
When I first got this app, I thought it was great, I could communicate, post and me and my significant other can easily navigate through the app. Now it wants us to pay to chat, makes the app hard to navigate due to them wanting us to pay for a subscription. What a huge downfall
Great app with free widgets, but minor bug recently
Outside has been a great app for countdowns, and since I started using it at the start of this summer it’s been great! Even with just the free features there is a great amount of customization, and it’s been a great app. However, a few days ago I started seeing a bug I’d never had before. I like to put my countdowns in days and turn on detailed units, which in the past has been great. However, recently my countdowns have all been a day off. I have one for tomorrow that should be less than 24h away, but it currently says 1 day 20 hours instead of just 20 hours. Similarly, for something I have two weeks from today, it says 14 days 15 hours etc instead of 13 days 15 hours. This does not completely break functionality, since if I turn off detailed units it still effectively counts the right number of days, just rounding up rather than down. Still, this was not something I experienced on countdowns even a week ago.
Cool concept
It’s a cool concept but it wouldn’t let me share my countdown which was the whole point of downloading the app so I deleted it.
Can’t add photos to more than one.
I tried to do a lifetime subscription but couldn’t get more than one to add a photo. Not user friendly app at all. I deleted it.
Great app!
Been using this for over a year. Super simple, great UX. 9/10!
Annoying
This app is the most annoying thing I have ever used. Someone tried to share an event with me and I tried to download it and the app made me jump through absolute hoops to do anything. Horribly annoying. Do not recommend unless you enjoy putting yourself through tedious tasks
Almost perfect
This app is nearly perfect- the only thing I would LOVE for them to change is customizing whether the countdown is in days, weeks, months, etc. otherwise, it’s clean, easy to use, beautiful, functional and I love the other customization options like font color picture etc
Off By A Day
Honestly the app is just what I needed. A bit glitchy, but overall easy to get set up. It is a bit unfortunate however that an app that’s sole purpose is to provide a countdown would be one day off. I just had to push back the date a day to get the correct number of days, but that probably shouldn’t be the case lol.
Photos
Photos doesn’t seem to be working
I literally love this app and I just got it
5 star
KEEP UPDATING AND FIXING THE ISSUES
I deleted and redownloaded it off my phone so it would fix the lag and it did but it had the wrong times and I I couldn’t add anything to my calendar i would click on calendar and it would take me to the home screen and now I signed out and it won’t let me do anything now it keeps saying unable to create event if I could do no stars I would
good app
overall a nice app, it just keeps making me try to sign up for premium when i dont want to every single time i open the app which is annoying.
Charges
Used to use this app as it was the last „free“ customisable countdown app, however they are now trying to charge to have your own pictures as backdrops! Ill find another!
Pictures Bugged
Overall a good app, although we’ve been using the picture feature for the last month and as every day passes the pictures are far off right to the screen and makes it impossible to see what the other person posted, along with the camera button disappearing.
The new update not good
Please read this outside! It’s not the best update we need more like Ai with in it to ai generate ideas
Won’t upload pics
Works great now the pictures won’t upload and stay.
Best of it’s kind
I love how easy and seamless the set up is. I love that the countdown is in days/hours/mins rather than months/years. I love that it’s customisable with your own photos Few improvement points: - allow to crop photos when setting a wallpaper - more diversity in the stock photos ((south) Asians, Black people, Latinx etc)
Great idea. Bugs make it impossible to use.
The idea is great and the features are awesome… unfortunately the app barely works due to how buggy it is. tried to contact support through the chat feature on their website. says responses take about an hour but that was 2 days ago and i have heard nothing back. will be deleting the app and continuing my search for a widget-friendly countdown. god speed to the creators, like i said great idea but the coding needs a lot of work.
Faulty Widgets
The widgets I have linked to events for my home and lock screens regularly revert back to “+ Create Event” status, forcing me to open the app and click on my scheduled event in the hope that the widget reactivates. This happens far too often.
This is the one
Don’t even bother with other countdown apps. Your search is over. I don’t normally leave app reviews, but because of the exceptional service I received I had to make it known. I’ve tried a handful of other countdown widget apps. Most of the others are cluttered full of ads or just downright hard to use. This one is simple. The free version has an incredible amount of functionality. And it does exactly what I needed to and more. When I had an issue I couldn’t solve and thought I would have to abandon this app and find a different one. Their support team was able to help me by issuing a fix on their end within a few minutes. No review is going to do this app or its team justice so just try it out.
Image Upload Fail
Please fix this issue.
what
Every time I open the app it treats me as if I’ve never opened the app before and I have to create an event to even do anything within the app. It’s just a hassle and makes me use it a lot less because every time I go on it, I have to make an event and then cancel it. Also, I downloaded this app before it cost money to put your own pictures in and I really miss that feature. I think it was really good especially for personalisation and creative people that like to be able to see their plans, which is definitely a demographic for this app. also, if I’m remembering correctly, you can’t even like search for pictures you just have to look through categories of like Getty images.
Great but widgets for memories don't work.
Hoping the devs see this. Will update to 5 stars after it works. Widgets for memories just turn white and show nothing when I add my own backgrounds.
Free Widget
The ONLY app that allows free widgets. Thank you so much. Def will continue to use.
Buggy App 👎
I purchased the Pro subscription to this app and it’s always logging me out and asking me to resubscribe when I’ve already paid. The other problem is my images won’t upload to my events. Every time I try to upload an image lately it tells me “Image upload failed. Please try again.” Why pay for something that doesn’t work? Ridiculous. 👎
Not free
I was excited to finally, finally find a free countdown app but turns out it’s actually not free at all. I thought the app was amazing when I first started using it and was enjoying the countdown widgets. Today I go in to add a new widget and it puts up a paywall and now my countdowns I already had aren’t working anymore. $6.99 a month or $44.49 a year is beyond ridiculous for a app. Super disappointed it was fun counting down the days until graduation. :(
The widget doesn’t show the wallpaper
There seems to be a bug. All I have is a blank white square for the home screen.
Excellent Countdown App!
I’ve been looking for a great countdown app and I love that I’m able to add a widget to my phone and timer to my locks. Amazing thank you!
No longer free
My widget quit working, so I go to the app. It says my free trial is over and now I have to pay the preferred $44.49/year?? I wasn’t on a free trial for the last year, I was on a lower tier free version where certain stuff was paywalled. No one does a year long free trial. $45 PER YEAR for a countdown app….😆 It’s not even worth 45 as a one time payment. Which interestingly is listed as an option as well at the bottom. And when I clicked out of this choose your payment plan, I got a popup that said “Too much? Here’s 40% off forever. $29.49/year. Free trial 7 days.” Like what in the grift?
What is going on with this app
I genuinely use this app and like it and i don’t usually write reviews but i feel like this needs to be said! a while ago when i first got the app i got a text on my phone asking if anything could make the app better. Since i didn’t really know much about it but just thought the icon was ugly, i offered to add another appearance (light). surprisingly they listened and added it to the app and gave me a free 3 month premium thing. however, after that 3 months to something i thought was completely free, it had a pop-up wall telling me to pay. not only that but literally all of the app icons need pay?? seriously what is going on
Counting Up
Love the app, but no counting up feature? Would be great to have that.
A lovely way to track fun
This is a lovely app. It’s simple, well designed and does exactly what it sets out to do. I’ve started using this as a way to track both upcoming and past activities/trips/important dates in my life. It’s great to have and makes me remember all the cool things I’ve gotten up to!
Incorrect dates with days of week
Deleting due to inaccuracy in calendar of dates.
Only free for limited time
Went on to check up coming events & will not let me go any further unless I choose a package to pay!!
Free until it’s not
Good for about a month
Book release dates.
I downloaded this app to have a widget with my upcoming book cover. And a countdown to my release date.
In app purchases
Used to be a great app until they had a pay wall behind everything. You can’t add a photo to any of your countdowns any more without paying a monthly or yearly subscription fee. When I first got the app it didn’t require a subscription to add photos. Not worth it. Will look elsewhere.
Just broke it
For all-day events, the days count is now off by 1. Events for tomorrow show the hours count instead of saying "1". Events for day after tomorrow now waying "1" instead of "2" as before. Please fix.
good until the app starting charging me
really good app i was using all the time for different events that was until the app starting charging me money to use it so i unfortunately had to uninstall.
Simple and Chic
This is an amazing app. I was looking for a free countdown widget and came across this one through Reddit. All the other countdown with thousands of downloads does not compare to Outside. This is easy to use and very chic app. I love the fact that the creators give high quality photos to use as background and they’re FREE. If I can give the app 10 stars I would. Thank you for making a good quality free app. 🫶🏾
Paywall beware
After a few weeks of use you will get a message saying to use the app because the countdown stops displaying. You open the app and it says your trial is over and for ONE MONTH free you need to invite 3 people otherwise it’s $3.70/month billed annually…
Great if you didn’t have to pay for it
Love the app but hate that I have to pay to use it. Not worth paying for
It’s ok
I downloaded as it has live activities and widgets. Using it further I can’t see how you make it two way sync with iOS calendar and also it does not bring full information across like locations. Is a good app though but would like the above Oh and for some reason I can see the same calendar twice.
