GPX Hero - GPX Editor reviews
4.2 out of 5, based on 102 reviews.
What people like
- No ads or annoying distractions.
- Simple interface for quick edits.
- Great for merging tracks together.
What they complain about
- App freezes and crashes often.
- Hard to find your location on map.
- Not intuitive or easy to learn.
Works well
I use this app to edit GPX files from my Garmin GPS, mostly cleaning them up, removing parts of the route where I was stationary. I have experienced the freeze mentioned in other reviews, but this is down to the GPX file, the ones that fail also fail online, show no routes etc. The interface is minimal, which I like, it can take a while to get used to but there are enough features to keep me using it over the online alternatives. I did purchase the app which helps update the elevation data.
Very poor UI and logic
point by point editing with out segment crop and no graphic info instead almost useles scale buttons
No saving ?
After editing, when Inclick the option “save/share” but it does nothing.. bug?
Unable to edit points based on time associated to a point
It appears as if they promise something they cannot deliver.
Danke!
Für meine Anwendungsfall perfekt!
Für meinen Anwendungsfall (zusammenfügen mehrerer GPX Dateien) perfekt. Fast alle Funktionen sind sich kostenlos benutzbar. Super Arbeit.
Kinda sucks
Can’t get the app to do anything? Seems to freeze after I upload GPX to it
Perfect for quick edits
No ads. No frills. Simple to use. I just wanted to cut some gpx traces from a long ride and this app did it perfectly.
Very useful, but there are a few minor issues
The route of exporting the track gpx file to other applications may deviate
Junk
Can not open existing gpx files to edit them.
Great simple app for GPX route planning
As a runner and cyclist, I love using this app when traveling as I can quickly plan a training run even in an unfamiliar city and easily send the GPX file to the navigation on my Garmin watch from my iPad. I love that UI is simple to use and very easy to figure out right from day one, and that it doesn’t have many complicated features that most people wouldn’t even need. If the developer is planning any updates I would recommend just two additions. 1) The ability to use the device’s location to center the map to your location, as this would save scrolling around to find where you are when in an unfamiliar place. And 2) the ability to add edit points to an already drawn route that can be dragged to edit and adjust the route after you have plotted where you basically want to go. Apart from that I wouldn’t want to add anything else. There are other more complicated apps out there for anyone that really wants all the bells and whistles. The beauty of this app is that it is so simple to use.
Freezes immediately it opens
Sadly I can only give the app a one star rating because it simply won’t get further than trying to load a gpx file before it freezes. I initially contacted the developer using their contact form but have had no reply. I am now invoking Apple’s refund mechanism. I have an iPhone 15 Pro with nothing unusual about it - interested to see if others are having problems…
Very helpful travel companion
Helpful e.g. to combine a track and route and use the new route for navigation. 👍🏻 Would be nice to be able to share directly from other apps and open in GPS Hero. Anyway, it‘s possible to temporarily store and open using files (manager). Thank you for this very useful app.
Completely Useless
Don’t bother. Without paying for the full version, it does literally nothing. It opens, show a map and a dialog box, if you tap either of them, you are prompted to pay for a full version. Since the free version does nothing, I assume the paid version does nothing as well, just faster, with more options, and probably something lame like facebook sharing. Not for real use.
Funktioniert wunderbar. Vielen Dank für dieses praktische Werkzeug!
Another 5 dollars down the drain
Just locks up and does nothing
No instructions
Why is it developers think you are born with the knowledge to use their product? You are on your own to figure it a way to use this app. So it is useless for me.
Brilliant app
An amazing app does exactly what I want it to do, easy to use ,accurate seamless. Use all the time to edit my mtb and walking routes, and create new ones, perfect
Unausgereift
