The variety of workouts is amazing
I may be a tad bit biased because I was one of the instructors on the app, 😅, but seriously this app is the best I’ve seen in a LONG time. Ever, possibly. The fact that it’s a custom made app means that the user gets much more unique features that you actually USE! I also of course appreciate the quality of the workouts themselves. Maddie and the other instructors know what they are doing and it’s very obvious in my overall results and how often I come back to the app. The annual plan is very worth it!
app reset & lost all data from last year AGAIN
UPDATED review: On a random Wednesday, the app logged me out and reset all of my data. AGAIN. My subscription renews in September and the app reset again in February. This is my last straw with this app and I cannot believe that your engineers can’t figure out how to avoid this issue. I adore this app; Maddie’s workouts have helped me become consistent and stronger over the past year. A month before my subscription was supposed to auto-renew, the app logged me out and reset all of my data from the past year. None of the workouts I’ve saved, my logged workouts, and the achievements I’ve scored. Not sure if it’s Apple’s fault, but seems like faulty app design and software to log paying users out and reset all of their hard work. If I can’t get my data back from this unnecessary reset, I’ll be looking somewhere else to subscribe to.
Need this app compatible to an Ipad’s screen horizontally.
The app runs vertically to Ipad’s screen. Which does not cover the full screen. So hard to follow the exercise as it looks very small and compact.
App constantly crashes and gets rid of my stats
Also hasn’t given me any new workouts in August. Constantly logs me out and won’t air play to my TV
Welcome Offer Won’t Work
I follow Maddie on YouTube and love her workouts. I’ve been using the free features on her app and think the full version would have been worthwhile. The 60% off welcome subscription would have been something I would have paid for (I feel it’s important to support people who put this much energy into something they believe in.) but I can’t justify $119 (regular subscription) a year on an app when I could get a whole planet fitness membership for $180. If they could make it so the 60% off welcome subscription works, I’d pay.
Excellent Fitness App
I have been following MadFit since 2020 during the pandemic. She has grown her business so much and has a wild amount of success because she is THAT good. I’m obsessed with this app. It’s so easy to navigate and has a very user friendly design. She has helped me build strength, maintain strength through 2 pregnancies and helped me lose my postpartum weight. I love Maddie, she truly is such an amazing trainer and is so easy to love. Download this app if you are looking to make working out apart of your daily life, you’ll be happy you did!
Expensive
I don't like that I had to answer all of those questions just to then pay. Like at least do a 7 day free trail or something instead I have to pay to count my sleep and count how much water I drink like bro. That is ridiculous.
Tech issue
I had this app a few years ago and I absolutely loved it! Life got busy and I canceled my subscription, fully intending to come back. Fast-forward to yesterday and today. I downloaded the app again, and I wanted to pay for a subscription (the save 60% option). Every time I try to do so, it says “Sorry… something went wrong during purchase. Please try again.” If I click on the save $50 option, it will let me continue. But… why have the 60% option if you won’t let me do it? Please fix this as I was very much looking forward to using it again.
Please optimise for iPad!
Got my new iPad mini today and absolutely gutted to find out that the app has a terrible phone sized display in the middle of the screen. I really hope this is something developers can work on as hate using my phone to work out as it’s such a small screen to see across a room/across the mat!
love maddie but
they say the app is free and it is but you can hardly do anything without paying for the upgraded version
Let’s get to it!
I’ve been following Maddie’s workouts on YouTube for years, and I highly recommend upgrading to the app! her workouts are excellent, effective, and well designed to help you succeed, wherever you are on your fitness journey. Her encouragement is genuine and I always feel better after finishing one of her workouts!
Great Content, Awful App
Why can you not edit or delete custom programs?
Almost perfect
I love this app but I wish there was an audio option to only hear the instructor’s voice and not the background music. It would be nice if we could play our own music like on Spotify. But it doesn’t let me play the exercise video and play my Spotify at the same time even if I mute the video. The background music can be so repetitive and boring, having good music while working out is so important. It would be nice to just hear Maddie’s voice/her instructions with no music and the option to play music on our device. Also I wish there was a version that I could use on my laptop, so I’m not limited to only using it on my tiny phone screen. Otherwise, it is the best fitness app I have used and has really helped my consistency!
Great workout opportunities!
Very frustrating app, desperately needs to be updated. Can’t cast to my TV, and the iPad version won’t fill the complete screen. I wish the owners would invest in making this a more friendly, versatile user experience. Tech is waaaay ahead of what is offered here. Sad, because the workouts are great, but getting to them is very frustrating
Could not cast videos to tv
I gave the app access to my local network but still couldn’t cast workout programs to my tv.
Love for at-home fitness
I’ve used MadFit for at least 5 years now, Maddy is an og but all the girls she’s added makes for great variety. Started this as a student when I couldn’t afford the price and time of a gym but never left since it’s so effective! High quality workouts at home are easy with the app and all the tracking tools help set and achieve goals as well!
App and account system made by amateurs
The content is great but I’ll just go back to YouTube. The first time I didn’t get notified for a subscription renewal so I had to contact support to get a refund. This is BASIC stuff that should have been polished up already like any app with a subscription. Then my account got locked out and can’t reactivate after a password reset. What are you guys doing tech wise?? I’m not going to use another email to sign up and pay for the app. It should just work!
Good but could improve user experience
It’s good but not exactly for me. I have used some other fitness apps and I personally like to see a preview of the workout without having to play the video (e.g., list of exercises, number of sets and reps, if applicable). That would help me decide if I am feeling up to that workout or not. I also love the option of home based vs. gym based workouts, but I understand this is not necessarily MadFit’s style. Although the app is great if you just workout at home! I just feel like I’m personally not getting the most out of it because I also go to the gym. Aside from minor things like that, the videos themselves are really great and her youtube videos are what made me sign up for the year to give it a go.
Great Program but buggy app
I have been using this on my IPad and noticed that my workouts were not logging in. I have had to uninstall and reinstall this twice to get it to log the workouts. May seem like a small thing but it takes away from the user experience. I also noticed that you can’t switch between devices like my iPhone and my iPad which is extremely silly. I enjoy my workouts but not the app.
Good but I wish I had more access
I understand y’all need money but the only function I have access to without paying is the workouts that were already free on YouTube. I’d like at least one workout program to be free if possible just because it’ll help me be more motivated. I don’t normally pay for apps and stuff because I’m not rich or anything but I suppose when I’m older I can eventually buy it, just not anytime soon. I still love the workouts and stuff I just want more access to things even if it’s something small
Keeps me in shape
Best app ever and has kept me in consistency good shape the last few years! Love Madi and Helena’s work outs!
Renews without notifying
The subscription renews without being notified be careful you will not get your money back. I signed up with a deal and ended up paying full price when the renewal time came around no notification sent to remind you of the renewal
Amazing workouts
MadFit has helped me through my fitness journey and has inspired me to set goals for myself. I would recommend 100%
Amazing app but……..
I really like this app, but something things shouldn’t have to have a subscription to be able to do because being able to track how much water i drink shouldn’t be locked because i don’t have a subscription like there is a million different workout apps that allow me to track my water and this isn’t just about the water it’s just stupid things you need a subscription for like being able to like a video thats just dumb
Chromecast doesn't work!!
Chromecast button is available but the real-time workout videos don't cast, it just auto disconnects from chromecast... problem is not my chromecast as it works fine with YouTube. After a few years I'm surprised this feature still hasn't been added
Love this app!!!
Madfit is a fantastic app that lets me access a huge variety of workouts in different formats from different instructors (all female) that all have their own unique style. It’s easy to navigate and filter through the workouts, or you can follow a program. I’ve been doing Maddie’s workouts for years and am so happy for this app!!
Unfair subscription policy
Be careful what you sign up for
Great Workouts and Format
I loved using the MadFit YouTube videos for years, but I am genuinely glad I upgraded to the app. There is a huge variety of workouts to choose from with multiple specialized trainers and it’s easy to search and navigate through the app. The ability to customize my own workout programs or follow a preset program is nice too. Honestly I would like to see more preset workouts available. Occasionally the app would crash a few times when I first got it but that problem seems to have resolved. All in all a great app.
Great content but bad UX on iPad
Love the videos. But after all this time there’s still no desktop app or optimized version for iPad. There are already several reviews mentioning this issue. Considering the price, I’m quite disappointed with what I’m getting. Any junior developer with access to AI should be able to fix this in a day or two max. Leaving 2 stars for app design only. Content is 5 stars.
Doesn’t work great with iPad
Workouts are great but pretty disappointed that these don’t work full screen mode on an iPad. So if you like to work out with a bigger screen than a phone, wouldn’t recommend.
Great workouts and greater coaches!
Love MadFit! The different instructors and their styles are so very good!
Unclear app. Not really well organized
App is confusing. Deleted my account but not sure if I’ll continue to get charged for this. Would like clarification if I actually cancelled my subscription
Good
The work outs are great! I enjoy the different options. I wish there was an option to have it announce the next exercise instead of just beeping so I don’t have to stare at my phone
Watch what subscription you want - no refunds
You’re not able to cancel or get a refund if the app doesn’t work for you. They’ve locked me in for $100 despite me only using it for a couple of weeks. I’ve never had an app do this.
iPad functionality
Really enjoying the content but the lack of an iPad app is surprising. I would really appreciate being able to enlarge the video to full screen on iPad.
Amazing
I’ve been working out with Maddie since the pandemic and her workouts never disappoint. They’re fun, good length time wise and very effective. The app brings my workouts to another level with the incredible variety. There is a workout for every mood, moment and level of fitness. I recommend this app to EVERYONE!!
Horrible
Atleast let me try it for a week before throwing a subscription in my face
Great workout app!
Love Maddie and all things MadFit. Finally got the app during their killer Black Friday sale. Really enjoying most of the features so far. Not terribly impressed by the recipes, but still worth it for the workouts!
Way too expensive.
I’ll stick with YouTube for free workouts and track them on a different app. $20 a month or $120 for a year are your only options, and in this economy, that’s crazy.
Can’t subscribe
I like the workouts I’ve done on YouTube so I downloaded the app. Every time I try to subscribe i get an error “Error. something went wrong with your purchase. Try again. “
I LOVE ❤️ ⭐️
I absolutely love that on this app is like the only workout app or I don’t have to pay for anything like this is the only app that I do not have to pay for like everyone just it five stars
Getting charges
I’m still getting chargers even I deleted and cancelled the app since last year
Good workout app doesnt sync data
App doesnt sync between ipad and iphone
Synching Issues
The workouts are good and offer variety. I appreciate all the options. However, when I open the app on my iPad or my iPhone, the workout history doesn’t synch and I end up unsubscribed to the programs I was enrolled in when I switch devices. I am logged into the same account on both devices. This seems like a simple thing that should be seamless. I did reach out to the support email listed on the app and got no response, which is disappointing. Keeping track of my workout progress is important to me, so I probably won’t use this app again.
Great app!!
The app is great. There is only one thing I wish it had. If you have the app on more the one device (for example on your iPhone and iPad) and you are subscribed to a program, if you do workouts in your program on your iPad and then you need to switch to your phone it does not show the progress you have for your program. For example right now I have 40% complete of my program in my iPad but my iPhone shows 0%.
Loveee
Love this app so much, it has changed my life!! I noticed that there was not an option to search all workouts anymore, rather only by category. An option to search all but also by category would be super helpful!! Thanks Madi! xx
Can’t cancel anytime
I read on the app that it was possible to cancel anytime, so then I accepted to pay the year membership (only because it wasn’t possible to pay monthly). But then, even if I cancel the membership, it stays active until next year and it is impossible to get a refund. So I understand that it is not actually possible to cancel anytime.
Good variety of work outs, easy to use
A great tool overall, but suspect the recipes are AI-written.
:/
Didn’t realize that the app uses only airplay, and is not compatible with my tv so this app is completely useless to me. I can see the thought and effort that went into this app but unfortunately I won’t be able to enjoy it. Wish the refund policy was better or that there was a free trial for even 3 days so that this could be avoided
More compatibility options
I’ve really been enjoying madfit on YouTube so I decided to finally head over to the app. I’m really enjoying the programs however, I’m a little disappointed with the lack of device compatibility for the price. I went from being able to enjoy the workouts on my tv screen, to now having to awkwardly setup my phone and barely see the workouts on such a tiny screen. I tried to switch over to my ipad, to at least have a bit better of a view, and in doing so, i lost all of my logged progress which is very disappointing :(
