Consistently Unreliable
As both a coach and a student, the only thing I can count on Pivo for is to be difficult. As a student, I’ve lost out on several lessons I paid for, spending the entire time trying to troubleshoot why it wasn’t working. And on the flip side as a coach I’ve lost countless hours dealing with tech issues that I reimburse my students for. For a paid subscription to work so incredibly badly and have zero tech support is abysmal. I requested a refund for my subscription this month after the last lesson failure, only to be told they would “give me a free month after the fix has been found”. Given that these issues have gone on for as long as I’ve been using Pivo, that’s about as empty a promise as one could possibly make.
Unreliable!
This is the most unreliable app I have. Randomly stops recording 1 out of 3 rides, so 17mins into a 1hr ride it quits. No alerts, no sign it’s still following me around. No other apps on, DND set. I’d give it a 1 if it wasn’t for the fact that when it does bother to work it’s great.
Mode basket
The best tracking system I have used for my UGC creations .
The PIVO is the easiest tracking device I’ve used. I love it, and I use it daily for all of my postings.
Bring back the old app
Nothing but issues anymore. Ive used pivo for years and a year ago bought a new one and downloaded the new apps and I have YET to be able to actually video a ride. Glitchy af. Loses tracking, doesn't save, constant errors.
Please add a manual zoom mode!
Great. However, while it's nice to have the zoom in/out automatically, it would be nice to have a manual mode where you can lock the zoom in/out as needed while still having the tracking feature. I like to shoot with my iPhone's ultra-wide lens (0.5x zoom out) locked in.
Missed half my ride
Super annoying to go to watch my video only to find that the Pivo spent half the time filming the wall. It seems to lose me and my horse when we get close to it. It’s so bad that now when I’m riding, instead of focusing on training, I’m constantly checking and looking to make sure it’s tracking me. Very frustrating as it’s supposed to be a training aid, and help, not be a detractor and source of frustration.
Record audio from background music feature
IOS18 now supports audio playback which allows videos to be recorded with audio from a running music app like apple music and spotify. Need this to record dance videos with better audio quality
Constantly improving
I have owned pivo for more than 5 years and the software is improving. honestly price performance is incomparable to other alternatives. Best thing I bought.
Inoperable Horse Tracking
The horse tracking doesn’t work at all. It won’t even lock on to one. I have to use the “pet” feature. So far none of my rides have been recorded because of how awful the tracking is.
Fairly good but loses track when closer than 4 metres
Easy to use once you get the hang of it. I use it to record my ridden sessions and also dressage tests. My main problem with it is that the camera has to be 4 metres from the horse or it loses track of it. I only have 2 metres extra in my arena so recording a 60x20 long arena test is not possible. I’m not sure if this could be improved.
Review
Loses track of horse very easily
When you are trying to video , error message comes up and you don’t get a video
Why oh why can you not fix the error message , no internet connection when you are jus trying to do a video and you don’t need any internet connection? We just want our video . Don’t send an error message so we don’t get a video. Also when there is 20 percent battery left on the phone and the low battery message comes up the video is also stopped. You need to fix both problems ! No more error messages popping up ruining videos 🤬
Poor Video Quality
The Pivo does not track smoothly during lessons as advertised. Paid subscription does not help. This device and app are essentially useless for taking lessons. Their support team has not been helpful.
Issues all the time!
I am a professional horse trainer, I use mine a lot. Why wouldn’t the record feature be on the end of the originator of the session. So, who ever starts the meeting is able to hit record on their device!!!! It’s just not user friendly and easy, there are always glitches.
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
I like the Pivo if it actually worked all the time. Sometimes it shuts off. Sometimes it doesn’t track. Sometimes when we begin in tracks then stops in the middle of the lesson. Sometimes I can hear sometimes I cannot. My first Pivo worked great (until it didn’t) this one I have had nothing but trouble with.
Support
I bought the camera about two years ago, but I can no longer seem to find an app that will allow me to connect my phone to the camera. Why?
No Zoom Webcam option?
Why is the webcam option no longer available? The app is useless to me without it.
Good tool.
The body and facial movements can improve. Especially body video are slow. If you move too fast it can’t follow you.
So glitchy lately !!
I’ve had the pivo for a few months and use it for riding horses. The app worked great for my lessons until about a month ago and now the audio cuts out and freezes often (I’m in the same range I’ve always been in so it’s not my head phones) and it keeps kicking my trainer out of the meet and the app freezes and crashes. Even after closing the app and going back in, it will still be frozen and I have to either turn my phone off and on again and if that doesn’t work, delete the app and redownload it. I never had any of these issues before so maybe it’s due to an update?? I know it’s not our service because we both have strong signals and have never had issues with the meet feature before. Idk what’s up
Needs to work on apple watch
When recording tennis, i need to place the pivo+ so close to the fence, the prevent me from previewing the shot. Would need Apple Watch integration, so i can preview the shot angle before recording.
Great Recording Tool
Easy to use and follows me and my horse like a charm!
Terrible
It seems like Pivo is only getting worse overtime, not better. I am consistently the only horse in my ring and it still gets stuck on who knows what, tracking maybe 5% of my ride and in such a jolty way you’d think I was riding through an earth quake. Why not align the device with the remote? Then riders can pocket the remote and it’s so much more guaranteed to track appropriately. I’m ready to throw in the towel with Pivo.
Fonction horse
Not that great
Not worth the price at all . I thought I could use the Pivo w my own camera turns out you have to use the app which is inconvenient because there’s others apps w better features . Idk . The tri pod is the best tool other then that it’s ok wouldn’t recommend
Fast easy cameraman
Ty ty Ty the names of team or individuals who created this one. B”H
Constant chronic issues
My review is to mention that the PIVO tracking device is very unreliable. Three out of five times that I use it something goes wrong. The most current issue is that the movie I recorded won’t play. I have an iPhone 13 Pro. I spoke with an Apple advisor to help figure this problem out. We did several different things to resolve the problem. It was determined that while the movie is being filmed and or saved there are bugs happening in that process. Which actually makes a lot of sense. Because the ability to watch a training session after riding, my horse is so unreliable.
Gute Idee, schlechte Resultate
Pivo & Mic
The Pivo itself is great. I can do without the apps to be honest. The microphone is terrible.
My cinematography robot
Now I’m not saying that it’s as good as hiring a cinematographer, but what I am saying is it’s the next best thing. It follows me around and I feel like it’s almost like a robot in that way. Very cool. This makes for some creative content.
doesn’t connect to ZOOM
I got this for my virtual horse lessons, in order to connect to it with ZOOM you have to bring your ENTIRE computer out to the arena with you. They left this little detail out when I purchased this $300 device. Inconvenient, totally not practical for horse owners.
What happened?!
I used to love this app now after an update I can’t seem to find the simplest of things. I mainly used this for doing Timelapse videos but now I can’t seem to figure it out and all the tutorials are about following someone riding a horse… any idea when that would have been related to someone from a city?!
Sound issues
Won’t let pass through audio. And if it does at times it’s low quality can’t have workout music play and record at the same time. Please fix.
The best set up on the market, and I would love to be a spokesman for it
Best set up on the market and I would love to be a spokesman For It!
Subscription scam
Features that were free when I bought the device are now locked behind a subscription. Without a subscription, Lessons will time out, meaning you have to get off your horse and restart a new lesson if you want to continue longer than 1 hour. There was no time limit for lessons prior to this recent update. App is buggy; it often loses track my horse in corners of the arena meaning my trainer misses parts of my ride. I’ve had better luck using FaceTime. Horse people have enough monthly expenses, I do not recommend adding this one.
Animal Tracking
It’s ok.
I got this for a Black Friday sale, saved $130. It’s ok, I’m glad I didn’t pay more. Tracking is super jerky and it makes me nauseous to watch the videos. Will hope for improvements. Unsettling to me that there is no way to speak w customer service support, only an email link. Wish this was better 😕
Horses
Thank you for improving the pivo over the years. Tracking has improved so much! Thank you!🙏
Broken app and cloud
I can’t log in or make a new account on any Pivo apps. Now my pivo is unusable. Please fix asap !!! This shouldn’t stop me from using the actual device I paid for. That’s ridiculous. When you change this then I will change my review. This is unacceptable. Scam until further notice
Resolution/FPS???
There is currently no way to adjust the resolution or framerate for the camera. On iPhone 12 mini, it is stuck at 1080p, 30fps. Please fix this!!!
