Taking something decent and making it awful
This app is absolutely garbage. Does not save points after purchase. Always reverts back to zero points. No way to use free tickets, app just says one free ticket with no code or place to use it. New month and I should technically have 2 free tickets but nope still says 1. Took a perfectly reasonable working app and updated it with possibly the worst app I’ve ever used. This is the definition of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it smh. Rotten Tomato Boooooo
App updates
App recently had an update and logged me out and when I tried to log back in, it didn’t recognize my information so I had to create a new account and I lost my tickets that were worth $129 to see the new wicked movie. Luckily I did a screenshot but it doesn’t have the code on there so I’m looking forward to having a linking conversation at the ticket counter when I get there for the showing thanks a lot CMX maybe next time I’ll go to another movie theater like regal or AMC travel a little bit further for that one.
App not accurate
I’ve used the app and it worked perfectly and I’ve used the app and the movies and/or movie times are not accurate.
App features work but it’s very slow
The app is very slow to load. Showtimes, tickets, seat selections, theater locator, etc all the major feature are really slow. It typically takes more than a minute to view showtimes for any movie and up to 5 minutes to choose seats. It feels very sluggish and not nice to use.
The best experience
Absolutely the best! If you wanna watch movies, then go CMX, period.
After the update it’s been HORRIBLE
It al started when I tried logging into my account and apparently I had to create a new one and loose all of my points. I did it, been to the movies several times after the update and I haven’t gotten any points. I was considering joining the membership but honestly after this horrible service I don’t even know if the membership will work, as a long time customer of CMX this is very disappointing and upsetting. Also each time I log in it logs me out when I go back in.
Visually great. Functionally needs update
Very appealing black background and nice font finish. However my credit card at this point into 2025 needs to automatically link to appl pay and not have me look for my physical card at home. Type 25-30 numbers. Why are we fancy in all the aspects but not where the experience matters and it requires work
App and Website Issues
This app website never worked properly. The app doesn’t show your rewards but will take you to the privacy page. Poor customer service as well
No Apple Pay, no wallet
Works fine but not having the option to fast pay with Apple Pay is dumb. Also can’t add ticket to digital wallet. It’s 2025, people.
Great app, could use some tech updates
Love the app, wish they would add Apple/Google pay which is more secure.
Just awful
I bought a gift card as a Christmas present in December. I just tried to use to go to the Cinebistro to see Project Hail Mary and was told that CMX has changed their computer system and those gift cards don’t work. The theater said it was a corporate problem and they could not honor it or give me my money back. The manager took my information and said a new card would be mailed to me. That was two weeks ago and just crickets. I can’t believe what an amateurish operation. Now I’m going to have to go back to the theater (they don’t answer phones) and argue to get my gift card or money back. By then i will have wasted three hours trying to use my gift card.

When we went to go watch a movie, didn’t tell us it was 3-D and we didn’t want to because it hurts our head and also when we were getting a drink, the cup was dirty three stars

The update is horrible! Previously it was easier to tell the seats we’re together now you need to count. It’s trash! Logs out

Passport Never Works
While the app is relatively easy to use it never works properly for the Passport. Which unfortunately can only ever be used via the app and not in person. There are countless times i have to delete & reinstall the app for the chance of it to maybe work and load my Passport credits.
Cannot log in
The app is good when it works. I can’t log on to my account. I know my email is correct for the log in because they always send me some promotional emails. My password is saved on my iPhone and I haven’t changed it. When I go to reset my password the app or website never sends me a link to reset. It’s incredibly frustrating and I don’t want to loose out on the tickets and points I already accumulated. Also, I tried to email corporate on the contact us page no reply.

This app is constantly glitchy. I pay for the 3 movies a month plan. I have 6 built up credits, but it won’t ever give me the option to use my credits. I’m paying over $20 a month for 3 movie credits a month, but this glitchy app won’t let me use my credits. I just had to actually pay for my movie tickets, after i already pay for monthly movie credits. This app has been consistently glitchy and i’ve decided to cancel it since i’m being ripped off. It used to work for me for about a year but the last few months have gotten overly glitchy.
Going downhill for a while now
This app used to work well and the rewards made this my go to theater choice. Not so much anymore. They stopped updating upcoming showtimes for my area in a timely manner, it became very difficult to plan movies trips to CMX ahead for the following week. AND NOW… they completely redid their app and I had to sign up with a fresh account and I’ve lost all of the reward points I’d accumulated over the past 6 years.
Logged me out, now can’t login
I tried logging in and it wouldn’t let me so i tried resetting my password, it doesn’t send the email with the code, checked spam and everything, nada
UI Change
The user interface in this app is horrendous. I don’t know why they changed it. You can’t even save your ticket to your wallet anymore. I literally lost my account in my points. They’re lucky I don’t have a local AMC. Because this is truly terrible.
From bad to worse
Update turns app from sloggy mess into poorly done hard to use web wrapper. What’s the point? The rewards program was shut down anyways.
