Exceptional Emulator
This is a phenomenal emulator. I use an HP48GX daily for my engineering work, and have lots of customization - KEYMAN, UNITMAN, lots of applications loaded, etc. This emulator allows you to load up any of these customizations very easily - more easily than on the real hardware in fact. I do manage to crash it frequently when messing around with the applications and configuration in various ports, but it usually restarts back within a couple of actions. Overall I’m super impressed with this and use it all the time when I don’t have the real thing at hand.
App constantly crashes
While this emulator is by far the best HP48G/GX emulator for iOS I’ve ever used, *while it’s working*, the reason for my rating is that *the app constantly crashes randomly.* This is on an iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS version 18.7.1. If the app didn’t crash, I’d definitely give it five stars.
My go to iPhone calculator
Well developed calculator, works just like my old HP48 in school.
Great… when not Frozen
When it works, it works great just like regular HP48. Unfortunately, apps crashes/freezes continually, which is only resolved by deleting and redownloading. It’s to the point where I will use almost any other calc-app. I keep circling back, but problems always resurface.

Solid Emulation, but No Keyboard Support
Really great port of the emulator to MacOS. However, there is zero support for the keyboard. The basics should be mapped like the letters, numbers, and arrow keys at a minimum. For bonus, map the ‘~’ to alpha key, +,-,*,/, ‘on’ to ‘esc’, ‘<-‘ to left shift, ‘->’ to right shift, and ‘backspace’ to ‘delete’ key.
Se cuelga y no funciona
No sé qué le pasa pero alguna vez se apaga y no funciona la calculadora. Toca dejarle un día y vuelve a funcionar. No funciona la función UNDO. Es muy lenta en las pulsaciones de las Teclas
Good but constantly crashes
Love it, except for the fact that it constantly crashes on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Doesn’t crash for my coworker, don’t know what sort of phone she has…

Blank display
I have used the 48 GX sent college and this app has a blank screen the majority of the time. Fix it please!
Stopped working
I loved it, but it's stopped working on my 1st generation SE. The buttons seem to function, but no display.

Good, but got slow after iOS 18
Nice app, looks and feels like an HP 48. But it got really slow after iOS 18 was released. So I am looking for a replacement. I hope the devs fix it soon.

Was great, but it got slow
I loved this app on iOS 17. I don’t know what happened but ever since iOS 18 came out this app is really slow. I have to type my digits very carefully. The app misses so many clicks that I have taken to double checking my calculations on another device, which defeats the purpose!
Perfect 48G Simulator
Being an owner of a 48G, I was really impressed by the feature and functionality parity to the original. Even the skin and colors are spot on. Really excellent job!!
Stopped working for the 3rd time??
I did work for a longer time period this time. Am I the only person having this problem? I will download again and hope it works even longer.

Love it… except I consistently get the following message: “Don’t Panic” Which prevents me from using the calculator. I thought it would never catch me when. I needed it. Welp, that day arrived today. I needed batteries for my real HP48GX and thought, “your phone will work.” Will be reuploading the normal calculator app that came with the phone. Bummer…

In fairness, I’ve only recently gotten this app because my actual HP-48SX developed a keyboard issue that may sadly be impractical to repair. So I’ve just begun to explore the features. However, so far, it seems excellently done. It’s so nice to have all the power of this iconic and amazing calculator available on demand on my phone. I don’t know if it’s also programmable like the hardware device - that would be challenging to achieve - but it’s awesome to work with integrals, summations, equation solver, matrices, etc., just like the actual calculator. Superbly recommended! Thank you.
Update requires zip file download
This was a great HO48 emulator app until the recent update, which now requires users to download a zip file from an unsecured website. Too bad!!!
New Icon
First of all infinite thanks for making possible the use of HP48 on the iPhone! May i suggest a change for the new icon? I think an icon that shows 4 Keys from the Calculator would be much more powerful than the whole calculator with gray bars on each side. For example the “L-arrow 4 R-arrow 1” keys, or the “6 x 3 -“ keys… what do you think? A high resolution “m48 Starship light” skin would also be very appreciated. Thanks

Won’t Install on iPad iOS 16.4
Disappointed, but after a couple unsuccessful attempts to install I gave up.
Couldn’t figure it out
I installed as hp48g. Tried to fetch 49g skins and roms and load those. Couldn’t. Tried to find documentation on how, tried to figure out how to locate and load equation libraries. Couldn’t. Gave up and uninstalled. Will try another 48 emulator.

Best HP 48 emulator available nowadays!
Had an older HP 48 emulator on my iPhone 6, but when it finally became pretty much obsolescent couple years back and I upgraded to the iPhone 14, had to find a new HP 48 emulator for it. This one has proved to be the best of the ones I’ve tried, and I use it all the time. Very easy to view and operate, plus fairly dependable as well. It will crash occasionally during startup, but once you relaunch always seems to work fine — not particularly inconvenient, in any case. I did have to delete and reload it once, when trying out various different skins — completely froze up, and couldn’t get it to run at all anymore. So recommend finding one skin you like, and then just sticking with it…
