Daily Life Use
I’ve been on this app for over a few years- it took me a while to add everything - and it was a totally worth it!!!! When they got the desktop version up - I legit screamed. My friends all know when it happened because I wouldn’t shut up about it. Haha. Love so much this app. I hope they keep at it because I refuse to go on another. I’m too in deep. Haha. My husband thanks this app too. I’m out the door in 15 min now. 🖤🖤🖤
Bad
Why would you put the only thing that people use your app for behind a paywall. There are so many other outfits making apps we can use. But this one was special because it MADE outfits FOR you. Now you have to pay for it. Stupid. I’d give it 0/0 stars if I could!
What’s happened?
I’ve loved this app for years, upgraded as I have over 500 items, but now can’t upload any items - it’s literally died on me 😢
Super glitchy
With every new update, it gets even glitchier. Best new change was more categories, now you need to upgrade to “premium” in order to select multiple things and move them into a specific wardrobe. Images appear pixelated now as well. Very poor app development. Keeps getting worse and worse
Use to be fantastic
I would have given this 5 stars until they took a lot of the free options away. They are trying to force people to get the paid version. I lost a ton of data due to this.
Easy to use many ways to keep track of your clothes
I love this app. They keep making it better all the time. You can use your computer now as well so it is versatile and convenient. There are so many ways to categorize your clothes. I get inspiration and love my closet. The support team is eager to fix any bugs. I highly recommend.
Used to be great
They want to charge you a subscription now. Nope. Can’t afford 100 different subscriptions for everything. Cmon!
Mostly good
App was 100% but now is buggy on add a new item either through photo or photo album. If you can’t add a new item, it’s becoming hard to want to use. Because of the time it takes to upload I’m giving it a few more weeks till I switch to a new app.
Doesn’t work since the last update
I liked this app, but since the last update it only shows white screen with the words: sorry there is a problem
Can’t Add or Update Photos for Items
Since the newest update, when you change a photo of an item, it doesn’t let you save. If you try to use eXit in the upper left hand screen, it doesn’t exit out of the photo selection UI. If you switch back and force to force exit, no changes as saved. Have to re-add item from scratch to select proper photos which forces you to recreate outfits.

Useless unless you pay
Now that they have a paid level I can no longer upload items and I am well under the new limit. I put so much time over the years into this app and now it is useless to me.
In regards to the new version being trialed
There have been some significant improvements to the functionality of the app including steps to make it more accessible to adjust the size of items when making outfit collage. There are some thing lacking in the new design that I thought I’d draw attention to. 1. On the new version of the app there is no function to shuffle outfits. This means I’m seeing all of the outfits I’ve planned recently instead of a mix that pushes me to wear things I’ve worked on in the past. 2. There is no longer a function to “manage item photos” which is very useful if you’ve made adjustments to the item ie Dying it a different colour, changing buttons, cropping the item. I sometimes use it when I am replacing an item with a new purchase, it helps me keep accountable for the amount of clothes I have. 3. When planning outfit collages based of inspiration a user has uploaded you can no longer see the inspiration photo while selecting items. This makes it much harder to work off the inspiration photo. 4. I think it would be great if the materials available to select would be expanded. Since the user base of this app is likely to have an interest in fashion and vintage clothes it makes sense for there to be a wider assortment of material available to describe an item as ie alpaca, mohair, opossum, exotic leather. Great AI/ closet organization features undermined by very laggy; very buggy interface
I got this app a couple of years ago, when it was relatively new. It was by far the best organizer/AI outfit planner at the time for ease of use and good AI outfit suggestions. (Was a 4* / 5* app back then) However, now the app is nearly unusable (I have installed all updates): it is incredibly laggy and frequently the app interface doesn’t work at all. Clicking on a wardrobe or clothing item often just doesn’t do anything (it’s supposed to open the wardrobe or item details). It’s so laggy that nothing happens for several minutes or the app just times out. There are also problems with the AI just delivering repeat suggestions even if there are new items or simply indicating that there are no outfits available. I hope the creators can fix these problems because it really used to be an amazing app and I would have paid for the premium features. But I can’t justify it with how bad the app functions currently.
The LolaAI function is non operational
I’ve never been able to get the AI to work. That’s the only reason why I downloaded it. I’ll revisit in the future to see if it’s working
Helps me get creative with my closet!
I’ve been using the Open Wardrobe app for several years to help prevent over-consumption and be more creative with the clothes I already have in my closet. I also find it useful for building travel and seasonal capsules. I even load images of potential purchases into the app to determine if the item I am considering will fit well with my wardrobe. Recently, I accidentally deleted my wardrobe and panic-emailed their support to help restore my deleted wardrobe. I received a kind response from Jenn who restored my wardrobe within hours. In additional to this experience, the app is just fun! I often find myself “gamifying” my wardrobe by creating outfit collages just because I enjoy the creativity of it. Like a real life Clueless closet! My tip for new users is to upload the best images possible - this makes for more aesthetically pleasing collages. I do this my taking screenshots of products I’ve purchased or of similar items. Plus, the background remover tool is so helpful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Greed
Loved this app before the newest update. Now, half the useful tools are locked behind a paywall. Was trying to multi-select items to move to a different closet as I usually do, when a notice pops up that I now need to purchase a ‘circle membership’ to bulk move items! It’s really sad that one of the most useful actions are no longer available unless you’re paying a ridiculous premium due to greed. Time to search for a new cataloguing app.
Would love an editing feature for the clothes
I like this app a lot- it’s really helpful being able to see my clothes in one place and not have to pull everything out of my drawers to pack or plan an outfit. BUT I think it is missing one crucial feature that would really set it apart. Mostly I want to use this app to use the collage-outfit maker to see how different pieces would look layered on top of one another so I don’t have to try on ten different variations irl. I would use the app way more if there was a way to be able to go into each item and make an alternative image/png with parts of the item visible and some parts not. For example, with this one could make an alternate of their button down shirt with just the collar so they could place it OVER the collar of a sweater. Or for a cardigan over a t shirt, I want to be able to layer the tshirt under the cardigan so it actually looks like it would irl, with the back interior of the cardigan covered by the shirt, and the tshirt sleeves/sides covered by the cardigan. Maybe the more complicated way would be if the alternative version had some way of establishing (this portion of the item is on a layer higher than this portion) etc, but it would also work well I think to just offer the option for me to cut the “inside/back” out of the png and replace it with transparency. I think anything like this feature being added could really improve this app and make it way more useful. :)
Main functions don’t work
Import purchases doesn’t work. I have to screenshot my items to be able to add to the library which takes time and space in my photo roll. Some of the remove background options will not work for some of the images as well. App won’t allow me to specifically choose areas to be removed so when creating collages I have four arms in the outfit collage which isn’t very aesthetically pleasing. For its function, it’s fine, but would prefer to be able to have a clean outfit collage.
would be perfect if it wasn’t so slow
I have 200 items uploaded to this app and love it so much!! But it’s so so so slow/unpredictable on when it’s going to run poorly. Sometimes I have no issues at all and sometimes I’m waiting minutes for one tab to open. I would love if there was something that could happen to fix that

Open Wardrobe is easily the best free outfit planner I’ve tried. It’s intuitive, helps organize clothes efficiently, and offers great outfit suggestions. The outfit tracking feature keeps my wardrobe fresh, and the app balances functionality with ease of use. Highly recommend!

Downgrade of photo editor in recent update
Your photo editor used to work flawlessly, however with the recent update I have lingering bits of background on many of my new image uploads , so I have to retake photos. Hope you can restore functionality.
No longer working
This was a useful app to keep items in my closet organized mentally and to put together some outfits once I bought something new. Haven’t used it for a while but over the last week none of the outfits I created show up when i look for them. When I reentered the outfit in question, in case I had forgotten to save , etc. it gave me the message “duplicate outfit” (or something like that) but still was not visible. The App Store does not give me the option to update so I assume I am using the most recent iteration. Can you please fix this? Thanks.
Used to love
Used to LOVE this app, so helpful for planning outfits, but for the past 2 weeks, it’s been so slow I can barely save outfits or upload new items. My internet is fast everywhere else and I’ve tried updating and redownloading. Not sure what’s wrong. Hope they fix it soon because I’ve spent hours creating a virtual wardrobe that is now difficult to even use. :(
FIXED 🤩
EDIT 2: I believe the problem was my phone and not the app 😭🙏🏻 Updating to iOS18 was causing app crashes and bugs all across my phone, but was exponentially worse with OpenWardrobe. My phone has had another update, and now the app runs just fine. Still maybe a little slow, but manageable just fine. Thank you for staying on top of things! EDIT: Got told to “Update to the newest version” :| Just tried four times to add in a new pair of boots, and the app crashed every time. The app is updated. I patiently wait for the screen to load before pressing buttons. App still crashes. I really don’t want to have to start over. Please fix, I love this app. I love this app. LOVE this app. Single-handedly carrying my wardrobe on its shoulders. Saves me time. Saves me money. Instead of online shopping, I get to shop my own closet. Amazing. HOWEVER. The app update :/ Kind of blindsided, visually changed almost everything. Still operates the same, just gotta get used to the new changes. But it’s so, and I cannot stress this enough, SO slow. I open the app, and my entire phone starts operating in 12fps. The app itself has crashed half a dozen times, and it’s caused my phone to crash twice now. Really annoying, and I’m begging it gets fixed soon, because this app is such a big part of my daily routine 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I loved using this app before the update. Now it crashes EVERY time I use the app. It is extremely frustrating. The bugs need to be fixed.
Amazing app but…
Hi, I have been looking for an app like this for so long. When I found it I was so excited to try it out. But then when I got to the part where you creat an outfit I had to pay. I’m only an high school student and I don’t want to pay for an app. I don’t want this to come across as rude or anything I understand 100% way u charge for this app but for a lot of people they can’t pay for apps.
App not loading
Started uploading items and after the 7th item the app just stopped working. Seems like a great idea for an app but don’t want to add my clothes on here and then realize it doesn’t work.
Not enough brands
I really wanted to love this app. I have a lot of clothing, and I thought it would help me be organized, but the interface with a lot of the brands is clunky. There are also very few brands added, so it doesn’t work well for me.
THE BEST APP TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR CLOTHES
If you’re a lowkey shopaholic or you just have a lot of clothes or you have a small closet space so you have to put your winter clothes away in the summer and vice versa, whatever the case you have to get this app! I’m all of the above and it’s been so helpful to digitally see all my clothing in one place so before I buy something I can make sure I don’t have something similar I already own or to double check it’ll go with my current clothing. There’s also been so many times I forget what I already own so I can go look at my dresses and I’ll see that one dress I forgot I even had. YOU NEED THIS APP The Open Wardrobe team is also the best ever! Their response time is crazy fast. I sent an email with a bug in the app and they responded with speed. I also made a suggestion on being able to filter by sleeve length and dress length and similar filters…. and they used my suggestion!! Now the app is soo user friendly and fulfills what I need perfectly! Thank you so much to the team for listening to user feedback <3
Fail
I did the tedious work of uploading over 30 tops, bottoms & shoes & have waited over a week for a single AI suggestion and have still gotten none. In the meantime I downloaded Acloset & did the same tedious process again & have already gotten dozens of AI generated outfits. This app was a waste of time, not to mention incredibly frustrating trying to find out if there was anyway I could nudge the AI to do what it advertised.
I use it every day
I love this app, I’m a gal in her mid 20s that is trying to redefine my style and using this app has made it so easy and fun! I can style outfits in the app even when I’m not wanting to get out of bed. Takes some time to put all your clothes in (especially when you have as much as I do. Protip: get a proper lighting setup and quality photos, makes it easier to really get the vision) but overall has given me the empowerment I needed to find my style while managing the size of my wardrobe. I love the features of this app, specifically that it crops the background out of images automatically, allows me to categorize my wardrobe items (although I’d love to be able to add my own categories @developers), lets me keep track of the clothes I actually wear by putting in my daily outfits, makes it easy to pack for trips by picking from my outfits/looks/inspirations and even has AI suggestions for days I’m feeling lazy (although maybe I should start seeing it as a styling challenge 🤔). Specifically I came on here to say the categories bit, but even more specifically, as we see maximalism jewelry trending more we should split up earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, maybe broaches idk. But if possible totally more worth it to let the user pick their own experience. Maybe when they set it up let them pick which of your categories they want to use in their wardrobe? I’d also love to split up tops when searching through my wardrobe between long sleeve, short sleeve and no sleeve. but I also love this app, so when you make these updates lemme know and I’ll edit this comment 😘
Helpful But Too Slow
Been using this app for over a year now and the main reason I continue is because I don’t want to start over with another closet app. Idk if my phone is just too old, but every time I’m in the app it takes 10-30 seconds to load a new page or sometimes it freezes altogether. Totally takes the fun out of using it.
Can’t log in
Apparently I used a social media account to register and now I can’t sign in, can’t retrieve a forgotten password, can’t login in with social media again and can’t get a verification code for a new email account. Honestly, why do I need this aggravation? Now to find a similar app.

Jenn was my absolute savior and she was such a pleasure to chat with. I had been logged out of my account. I have tried every single password I have ever used in my life. I have even attempted to use my other email address to be sure. I also have tried to reset password and send code to my emails. And I never get the code in my email. I have been trying for over 2 months now and I don’t know what else I can do. I have built an extensive wardrobe and it have taken me so so long to start putting it all together. This app is the best thing that has happened to a neat organization person like me. All it took was an email to OpenWardrobe and Jenn was so so so amazing. She responded within minutes (which is unheard of) and solved my issue in less than 12 hours. I can’t thank her enough.
Don’t bother downloading this app…
…if you value your privacy. This app sounded wonderful from the person I heard about it from, and from the reviews (I always check a bunch of reviews, first by most helpful, then by most critical, then by most recent). 1/ you have to create an account (these generally track your online activity, although I didn’t even get so far as reading the terms in this one — if you care about that sort of thing, these days read the privacy first because that’s where the worst of it tends to be. In the past, the terms used to be worse) 2/ I tried to create an account twice, with two different methods; once giving my gmail address, and once via my apple account. a/ In the google case, I had to give my first and last name, which I don’t want to do because my first and last name have nothing to do with my wardrobe — the app wants you to give an “@“ name as well, but why do I need one if I am never going to use the social feature? [ with the google account I got as far as receiving the code and entering it, but could still not log in) b/ in the apple case, in iOS 16x, apple defaults to anonymising our email address; which I took them up on. I still had to provide a first and last name. With both types of account signup attempt, the app hung indefinitely. With both types of account, the app told me I had entered an incorrect email address/password. I had not. If the social features and first and last name are required, then you should say so, and people like me will skip right past your app and not leave reviews warning others. If your social features are not required, then you need to have a serious look at your implementation and think “use case” — what are the different ways that the users we want to download our app might use it? and go through the “flow” of their session, beginning to end.
Not bad
You have to add shoes to your wardrobe or the AI function won’t work to create an outfit. Some of the combinations it created were strange, like a horizontal top with checkered shoes, but overall it’s a decent app.
Needs Improvement
2nd Review because I have more feedback, in the categories there should be a few main ones like tops, bottoms, full body, accessories; and then within those you should be able to choose shirts, sweaters, pants, skirts, dresses, ECT. Because the way it is having to look through a long list is very messy. Also maybe the colors should be in color order and now alphabetical order it’s more intuitive? Add light blue 🫠 And I hope my feedback on the occasions and style section didn’t get lost because we should really be able to see the full list instead of somehow being detected by the app.
nice concept
it’s a really cool concept and it’s really fun, but the background removal doesn’t work for most of my pictures and there’s not an option to remove it myself through the app
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!
I learned about this app from a YouTuber many years ago, downloaded it, but never really used it. FlashForward to last year, I was decluttering my closet, feeling uninspired and wanted a way to see all of my clothes. I decided to give this app a try and immediately fell in love. It’s completely free with no annoying ads. I love that I can create various wardrobes/packing lists and also love the ability to either create my outfits or use the LolaAI to help me create outfits. The app is a little slow and laggy at times, but I still enjoy using it. I have reached out to customer service a few times and they’ve been nothing but phenomenal, helping me troubleshoot or answer questions. I’ve told all of my girlfriends about this app and will continue to share this app with everyone I meet because it’s just such a good outfit app.

The app has been great so far, I absolutely love what it’s helping me with. However, style ideas for those of us who are short, have lumps and bumps that aren’t just ‘curvy’ would be amazing. I’m never going to show my midriff and I’m not 25. Pls add more inclusive imagery and stylists who specialize in these body shapes. Thanks!
App is getting worse with the past releases
I‘m using the app since September 2022. At the beginning I was a big fan - also considering that the app is quite new and still buggy. Now a few month later it’s still full of bugs (eg. outfit collages are not displayed the right way in the overview). In the same time the UI is getting worse in my personal opinion: Black-White gradients were added in the background and further unnecessary complexity. Even if it was a lot work to digitalize my wardrobe in the app I‘m considering to switch to a similar one :/
Great but needs some work
Great app but needs some functionality updates. Please turn off the “turn on notifications” feature that opens every time the app is opened! Once I hit no, I shouldn’t be seeing it again and especially not every time the app is opened. I’d also recommend setting the app’s typing default to capitalization, not lower case.
Latest update won’t download
UPDATE I was able to update eventually. Developer responded to my message, which I appreciate although assistance is no longer needed. I LOVED this app and just recently got all of my clothing entered. The latest update though won’t update and I can’t use the app without it, making it useless.

Logging in to my Shopping Apps doesn't work
Edit: I had to manually take screenshots of my items and so far it works good. I like that I can see the cost per wear of an item and it also helps me plan my outfits and without having to bring out my clothes one by one. I'm loving this app. Will rate it 5 stars if they fix the logging in issue when importing my purchases from Zara or H&M. Thanks to Use Less DK on YouTube for recommending this to her subscribers. >>> Original review: Even if I have provided the correct email and password when trying to import clothes from my shopping history from apps, it won't allow me to check in and it says "email and password do not correspond to any existing account." Too bad.
It has potential but not enough content yet
I appreciate the lean launch as an MVP but it needs more content and features to be able to compete with other similar apps out there. That being said, it has potential so if they keep working on it fast enough, I might consider to use it.
My account disappeared
I poured god knows how much time into uploading photos and organizing in this app. Then one day, I’m booted out. And there’s no option to log in with username, only with email, which apparently was never connected to my account. So now all that work is just gone!! I have to start all over!
