Never works
The amount of time I spend troubleshooting this app I should just be drawing and redrawing. I ALWAYS. EVERY USE. Have to delete and reinstall this app, NOW it’s telling me on one device that I don’t have an active subscription, but on my other device I do. Same Apple account. Same configuration. Just trash.
Great concept and support!
„Why on earth would you remove the ability to position the picture in the drawing device? Depending on the camera stand used that is borderline impossible…“ That above was my first review. I am going with four stars because i see that as an important feature that got stripped but i gotta be fair: the app works smooth, has great features and UI and the support is super fast and friendly. Was skeptical at first because subscription fee for an app with a single application is quite high but for me it’s definitely worth the money and there really is effort put into this thing :)
Keeps disconnecting the connection
About every 60 or so seconds. Very frustrating
It works, but not for me
it was a challenge to get this working for a couple of reasons. 1. The only way to figure it out is to watch a video, but the video requires Internet, which of course comes over Wifi. The video keeps telling you to turn your Wi-Fi off from the control center. it’s almost impossible to follow the instructions whilst watching the video. 2. In spite of that I managed to get it set up correctly in under an hour, but, it was really hard to coordinate my pencil with the iPad, even trying various transparencies. 3. I understand that because it’s a drawing app you have to keep the controls out of the way, but the UI is seriously not intuitive or user-friendly. 4. I sent a request for help three or four days ago and never received an answer. I’m going to go back to my projector until I get some VR glasses.
Help
I contacted the company and they responded quickly. There was a connection problem with the iPad and the iPhone. Sam worked with me and they finally connected. He didn’t stop there he continued to inquire how I painted and realized the Mural Maker was not the best fit for me. He recommended Da Vinci Eye which I already had purchased but was having problems taking my drawing and moving it to a large canvas. He showed me how to get to the wide angle lens and size the drawing to the large canvas. He could have sold me on the Mural Maker but he was honest and recommended I stick with Da Vinci Eye and forgo the Mural Maker. Trust me before you get mad and delete the app contact the service center first you will be pleased with their honest help.
Garbage
I used this for a mural job I’m doing thinking it would cut my time in half, boy was I wrong. Laggy, keeps saying my latest iPad is using 1.0 instead of 2.0, would disconnect everything 30 to 45 seconds, then took 10-15 minutes even to reconnect. I ended up just using the grid method and doing it myself. This will make your time ten times longer instead of cutting it down. Your better of using a projector or doing the grid/doodle method. No point using this app. Complete garbage and waste of money. I’d give 0 stars if I could.
Great when it works about a minute at a time
I was unable to get the location feature to work. When I turned it on, my project disappeared. And then when I restarted my project I had to replace it all over again which on a large project is pretty frustrating. It is great for large quick projects that you can do without detail but it kept kicking me out when I tried to use any of the features. Maybe it’s an internet thing idk but unfortunate.
Went downhill
I’ve used this app for 6 years and it was amazing. I don’t know what update happened, but it will barely connect anymore to either devices making it frustrating to connect.

Secondary (Drawing) Device Frequently Disconnects
Despite following all directions (including disconnecting from the network but not turning WiFi off—white not blue), my drawing device doesn’t connect to the camera device. I’m promoted to connect, I hit connect, it “thinks” and then tells me I’m disconnected and prompts me to reconnect again—an endless loop!
WAS good
When I first downloaded this app it was exactly what I needed. There was no lag time and you could zoom in pretty easily and clearly. Then whoever is in charge of this decided to alter it and it went to crap. Totally useless now. I understand there’s some need to do the AI stabilization or anchor point or whatever, but if that’s what happened, scrap it. Go back to the simplified version, or offer one, and I’ll be back. As of now it’s just too frustrating to use. It freezes constantly and drives me crazy. I really enjoyed the first version of this app and hope it will return to its original form. If so I’m happy to resubscribe and delete this. Giving 2 stars because I have hope it will get better
Didn’t work for 19’ mural
The app is great, but it needs the anchor to be 1/8th of your mural- which didn’t work for my 19’ x 12’ mural. When I was 10’ feet away, it kept losing sight of the anchor then the art would disappear. When it was still in view, it was so pixelated it was hard to pick up pertinent details. The app would be better suited for smaller works.
YES, it’s a revolutionary concept…
So, OF COURSE it can be challenging to wrap our heads around it. 🤷🏽♂️ But it CLEARLY states that a simple email will be responded to EXTREMELY fast, and it’s shockingly TRUE! The MOMENT I sent an email, I received an INSTANT response in the middle of the NIGHT! NEVER before have I experienced such extraordinary, unprecedented customer service! I was even offered a custom made video addressing my concerns. Regardless of the issues, that breakthrough service CAN’T BE BEAT!! The future of mural making is HERE! If this paradigm shifting app doesn’t make you feel like one of the Jetsons, nothing will 🔥🙌🏾💫
It doesn’t work.
This awfulware doesn’t work. The drawing device thinks it’s the camera device and will not track the drawing correctly. I get a great picture of the back of my head and me holding the tablet. I followed the setup instructions exactly, including the wifi connection. I’ve been ripped off for $40 and it’s not okay. Shame on you.
Wish it worked as advertised
It’s a great concept for an app, but the execution is clunky. While it generally works as intended, I encountered so many issues, it just made it so frustrating and made me wonder if it would have been faster to use a projector or grid my image. (I used an iPhone 11 and an iPad Pro). The three main issues I encountered were: - Poor UI design. The AI Tracking Anchor feature is so buggy I could not get it to work at all. The interface is terrible, it prompts you to take a photo of your Target anchoring doodle, but the camera features when taking the photo are extremely limited (won’t allow you to adjust perspective distortion, contrast, etc.). I kept casting a shadow on my target image, and if I took the photo at a slight angle to avoid casting a shadow, I could not adjust the distortion. And after taking the photo with the regular camera app to ensure it’s square and free of cast shadows, this app can’t upload a photo from the camera roll as the Target Photo. - BUGGY. After multiple attempts and finally getting a decent Target Tracking photo, the feature simple didn’t work. It did not do anything at all. I had to switch Tracking off for it to show me anything. - Pixelation and lag. The app works well enough for roughing in your image, but forget trying to do detail work. The image is too pixelated to be useful. If this app improves its UI, definition and bugginess, it will be good. But it’s not ready to deliver the quality I expected.
When it works, it’s great.
The problem is, it doesn’t work without 30 minutes of frustration. The video prompts will keep popping up regardless of settings, connectivity issues, getting the photo to actually load without switching 15 times between version 1.0 & 2.0, and pretty useless videos make this “could be great” tool a frustrating nightmare. I have the pro version, but not sure if I’ll renew for a 3rd or 4th year because it’s so frustrating to operate. For clarity, I’m an advanced technology user and this is reminiscent of trying to get online with a 1994 AOL account. Stop with the pop ups and PLEASE just keep it simple, the “upgrades” do not work and beta testing through paid users is awful. Idk who’s being stubborn on the team, but 2.0 is so much worse than 1.0. Without these issues, this is easily a 10 star app that is a lifesaver for artists, but the bugs make it infuriatingly unusable.
A great app
I am a new painter since retirement. I have found this app to be easy to use even though I am not that knowledgeable about advanced computer skills. Fun to use and fun to see amazing results.

I really tried with this app. I won’t call it trash because I’m sure the people behind this app worked really hard to try to make it work, but it just didn’t work for me. Every time I tried to connect the “Drawing Device,” it would go to “searching for camera device,” “we’ve found a device,” and then literally disconnect. I had the wifi turned off in both devices. I tried for a whole hour. Maybe it worked for other people, but I didn’t even get a chance to test it. Blessing in disguise. It’s a hard pass for me gang…
Good but not great
I would buy this for $50 - ONCE - but it’s definitely not a $50 a YEAR app. C’mon guys, your pricing is a little ridiculous.

Want constant frustration?
Quite literally the most garbage app I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. Laggy, with wifi on or off, doesn’t matter. It will constantly switch the camera device to the 1.0 version even on the latest iPhone and iPad, you have about 30 seconds of use before it starts doing what it does. Just absolute trash. Unfortunately no other app does what it does so they have absolutely no incentive to make it better, or simply work as advertised. If you’re forced into using it like I am, my condolences. Terrible, just absolutely terrible. Edit-because that’s what your paying customers want, to send an email to get a product to work correctly. How about you do something useful and say the super secret way to start the phone instead of giving us a task? That could have been your response, but it’s sooper secret. Edit 2 - Still the most despicable piece of garbage app I have ever had the displeasure of using, absolute trash
Good idea but it doesn't work

Needs more than 15 minutes!
Before I pay for the pro version I need to see how well it works. I cannot figure this out in 15 minutes, so can’t they increase it to at least 20 or 25? the learning curve isn’t as easy as you might think. For the free version the app stops working at 15 minutes which is.

The app is working great now! The developer contacted me immediately and set up a zoom call so we could fix the issue (which was on my end). It does exactly what I need it to, which is enlarge sketches and smaller paintings to larger formats. 5 stars.

This app is overpriced trash. Nonstop glitches and the morons who made it don’t care what you think.

It doesn’t work on my iPad pro 2020
Hi thanks for your amazing idea snd your program too. I download and install the app on my iPhone 7 then try to do this on my iPad pro2020 too. The app is installed but it doesn’t work when iwant to accept permissions and the continuousue bottom doesn’t work :(

Connect, disconnect, connect, disconnect, freeze. How can artists use this when your technical team can get it to function properly? Great app idea, poor performance. Very disheartening.
Works as intended, but…
This app is great for getting your scale and proportions close from picture to canvas or whatever surface you draw or paint on. The issue is that the video feed from your camera device to your drawing device is quite poor. Between the video lag on higher resolutions, to the extreme pixelation on lower resolutions, there is no good middle ground for capturing details work. For me, this is not an issue, as I only really want to capture the outline and shadow areas of images. It’s a huge time saver. The rest I can do on my own and it will probably make me a better painter anyway. For those who are just starting out and want a really detailed tracing app… this isn’t it. Get yourself a projector. Camera device: iPhone 14pro Drawing device: iPad 11 pro I hope there’s some sort of workaround coming for this as it would be nice to capture details if needed. But not a deal breaker for me.

This app has been unusable lately. Low resolution, connectivity issues and lag that would make a dial up modem blush. I used this app previously and really enjoyed it but lately its been nothing but frustration. Nothing has changed on my end as far as equipment, not sure what the change was. A re-install and fiddle around with settings was no help unfortunately.

The app times out on me and I have to reset the image onto the background and I can’t see the lines I made so I have to try to guess and place it where I think my lines are, then it skews my entire image if I don’t get it right on the money. Kind of frustrating for an app I spent $35 on and has major glitches. Ruins my project and causes me to have to start over 😑
