Creepypastas gone
Seems like theyāre all about selling novels and movies now. Canāt even find the creepypasta section.
Great app
I enjoyed some of the independent films & short storiesā¦but I hope the developers fix the bugs for leaving reviews & ratings for the movies. I have trouble getting the typing & clicking on the star rating.

My first impression when I look at a trailer for a movie itās just a black screen with just sound.you want me to pay a subscription for your streaming but you canāt even get a trailer to play Why would I pay for this.if you want customers make a product that works
Needs More
There isnāt nearly enough content. To be completely frank, itās painfully disappointing. Iāve wanted a decent horror streaming service for some time with no luck. Hopefully some adjustments are made, but judging by the other reviews I canāt have particularly high expectations
Great to pair with Shudder
I know for film Shudder is the main monster but I love having Chilling with me on the go, audio books in the car, spooky short stories at the gym, playing while I work, in a waiting room! As a fan and supporter of Chilling since the beginning I can tell you Chilling can keep the cozy spooky going in all facets of your life! Chilling gets you access to not just movies but all horror media!
Worst customer service ever
Supposedly someone from your team canceled my subscription after I was charged twice last year and now I have been charged again which has overdrafted my account, thus I was unable to go to my doctor since I had to pay a copay but was unable. So I ended up having a complete meltdown and panic attack and ended up at the er. Thank you for this. I have been very stressed out and this has sent me over the top. Refund my money and cancel for real this time or I will hire an attorney!
Solid horror app
I really like the app. Iām here for the stories so I wish there were more of that and less movies but I have had the app since Version 1 and still havenāt listened to all the stories so Iām not mad about it. I like the ambiance and variety of narration. Itās a little annoying it has some issues working with the sound on the control panel on Apple products sometimes but overall Iām really happy with it
Miss the old chilling app
Back in Covid, I used this app to listen to scary stories more often as everyone was locked in their home. It was full of stories with different genres and it went as far as I could fall asleep with it playing as I loved it so much. I just redownloaded the appā¦ and to see how much is changed and there isnāt as many horror stories and like all the horror apps being movies and only a few horror stories. I have to say this app sucks now. Your app was perfect before and I donāt know what you changed it.

Itās good
Iāve had this app for a few years now and Iāve been happy with it so far. It has had its down moments in the past but for the most part it is good. I love hearing scary stories from the different people who tell them and I love being able to watch movies on here as well.
Slowly forgetting the short stories
I wanted to rate this 5 stars before but the newest update changed that. If youāre like me, you got this app because you love the stories told on the BeingScared youtube channel, and I loved this app for a long time. But this newest update makes it frankly hard to use, itās kind of confusing and unpolished, sometimes the controls are delayed, and a lot of audio stories are locked behind paywalls. It feels like it lost its original purpose and what made it great. I loved this app, but Iām finding myself using it less and less since they are adding less and less stories, along with changing the ui to be clunkier and delayed. It can be hard to navigate the menus and find what I want to listen to. Iāll most likely be cancelling my subscription soon, possibly deleting it, because it doesnāt give me what I need anymore, along with raising the price, which makes me very sad considering how much I loved it before.
Itās okay?
As much as I want to love this app itās a bit of a downer that pretty much 90% of the content paywalled. Iām not saying they donāt deserve the money but thereās hardly anything to sample in the first place if someone isnāt sure if theyāll like all the various authors and such. Itās honestly a little sad to click on nearly anything and you canāt enjoy it without paying. I recall getting to listen to plenty at some point but now itās all locked. Not sure how it happened but I guess it was nice while it lasted.
Best app for stories
I absolutely love this app, there are so many different things you could listen to there is truly something for everyone. I love true crime and I have yet to find a better app, but the creepy pasta stories are also amongst my favorite. I have recommended this app to every one of my friends that likes all things spooky like me š¤©š¤©

App will not stay open for even a second even after all troubleshooting steps taken. Very disappointing
Solid horror app
Iāve been subscribed to this app since the beginning. Itās had its ups and downs for me, but all in all thereās nothing else around like it. If I had friends that were into this kinda thing, I would definitely recommend it to them. Iām a daily listener and I literally canāt live without it.
Good idea bad execution
Starting with ambience, if you turn it off or down and get audio from any other app it will turn the ambience full volume. No amount of changing settings has fixed this issue. I dislike certain narrators and have found no way to āshow lessā of these specific ones. The theme lists are not put together well at all. Simply stating, I selected deep waters and not even 10 stories in im getting real life murder mysteries that have nothing to do with water, and itās put into the playlists.

This app is great if you love horror. Thereās audio so you can listen to it while you try to sleep or during a long road trip. Great content.
Canāt watch movies
You canāt watch movies on your phone with this! There is no way to make movies full screen. Tried toggling my rotation lock and deleting and re-installing the app. Instead, Iām stuck watching a movie in a tiny thumb nail on my iPhone pro max. Canāt even screen cast to my Apple TV. When I try that the app blocks me and tells me to stop casting! I paid $55 for an app that is complete trash! DONāT PAY FOR THIS APP!
Good app
I like chilling I love listening to creepy pastas before bed and this is a great option for a lot of my favorite narrators
Pesters for Payment
I fail to see the point of pretending to offer a āfreeā app only to endlessly pester the user to pay for a subscription service in order to be able to use. While there might be some free content, I couldnāt find it; if I want endless ads, Iāll stick with YouTube. I donāt mind paying for a service, but please, say so up front.
It's okay.
I really want to give 5 stars but anytime I'm watching a movie or listening to something the app crashes and won't let me finish it even if I close the app. Still not too bad just please fix the crashes.
Versatile Horror App
I personally believe this is one of the best apps you can get.. i listen to all sorts of things when iām working or at home with my daughters. i can say that this app forces me to pay attention, they really outdid themselves.
The horror is the inability to work
Iāve subscribed to the year long subscription about ten months ago, it worked decently well for the first month or so and I took a break from the app for a whileā¦ year subscription still active may I remind youā¦ about three months ago when I tried to get back in I kept getting errors about ānot available in your area geo-blockedā so I was like okay it is what it isā¦ just tried again and keep in mind subscription I paid 40 dollars for is still active until Augustā¦ and now itās saying I have no subscription and it needs to be paid for againā¦ needless to say I was incredibly excited to use this app at first and loved the ideaā¦ but it has only disappointed me
Used to be a great app, but what happened?
I used to use this app everyday while working to get me through the day. Iāve listened and gotten invested into mostly every story on this app. However, for the past two weeks or so when I try to access any content on the app nothing comes up, itās like everything has been deleted. I have the option to choose a story, theme, etc. but when I click on a story I want to listen to itās brings up nothing. Itās like this for every story too, what is going on with this app??
Scummy
The app used to be free and it was great! Now all of a sudden almost all of the stories are locked unless you pay for a subscription. You really did that hoping to get people hooked then at that point when you lock everything you hope they just purchase a plan to continue listening to their stories.

Great App butā¦
I really do enjoy having this app with the different stories and I like having to try to update stories but the only thing I have an issue with is auto play does not work for some reason it only works when I have gone to my downloads but when Iām trying to play all of one authors or narratorās stories it never moves on to the next story when Iām done with the first it always stop right after
Would rate hire if it didnāt crash
Literally NEVER been able to watch a whole video or listen to a story without it crashing and Iāve had the app for quite a while now. I love horror so I keep it. It if someone comes out with a less buggy one, 100% switching. I canāt even get things to start on this app half the time.
Good content but the app could use improvement
Great content so far. But the app is rough. It will routinely stop playing instead of moving to the next file in the list. It also should remember where you left off if you exit or minimize the app. It should also remember ambience settings, which need reconfiguring every time the app is restarted. Also, the UI doesnāt scale for tablets. I also donāt see a way to favour content providers (vs individual files). I think with some quality of life improvements, it would be great.

Love this app mostly because my favorite person Dr. Creepen has such a great voice. His stories are never boring.
Terrible App
This app never works be ready to pay a $6 subscription to deal with stories not playing, not being able to change the ambient noise, canāt search stories, canāt filter stories, canāt search narrators, wonāt cast unless you have screen mirroring available on your tv, canāt queue stories for constant listening, and an interface that loads just a black screen with the chilling logo in the top left corner half the time do yourself a favor and get YouTube premium so you can just listen the same narrators without ads it might be more in cost but the app actually works

Good potential
Really nice idea. However the ambience volume setting does not go low enough for you to comfortably hear the narrator(s) whilst also having your preferred ambience sound on, so it is pretty much pointless. It would be nice to be able to choose a different narrator/voice as the majority of them on here have those fake 5 note/news voices that I cannot stand. Really wanted to like this app but will probably cancel it and stick with re-listening to my fav, less-cringey sounding YouTube channels instead. There are also a few noticeable bugs, if you use the bed timer and then try to use the app the next day, the play button wonāt work. You have to force close and reopen. You have to pick your āambienceā setting every time you listen to a new genre as it never sticks. Also, you have to tap the search bar three separate times just to be able to actually enter a search. This makes no sense. First time tapping a search bar should let you actually type a search term in it.
Instantly Addictive
Iāve been listening for over 24 hours since downloading this app. (Iām off work and my child is with their dad for their time together. So I have nothing important to do and can keep an earbud in) I usually spend my downtime listening to my favorite podcasts and story channels on YouTube. I heard of this app thanks to ads and I rarely thank ads. Anyway, this will definitely be my go to pls e for my off days. The variety and quality is amazing. The subscription fee isnāt bad and I donāt have to listen to a single ad. I can fall asleep listening to stories as if I were still being read to as a child. The sleep timer is a great bonus. The ambient sounds one can choose from is wonderful for nighttime listening. I have zero complaints at this point. Edit: As I said, Iām new to this app. I just now discovered that I get to watch films as well! Yeah, this is a lot of bang for your buck. Iāll definitely be switching to a yearly subscription as soon as possible.

This app used to be so freakin awesome, until their greed kicked in. There used to be tons of great free content. Now you can't even listen to a stupid podcast without paying. DELETE!
Thereās some bugs and I work
I love this app so much ever since I got it. Itās really cheap and tells amazing stories. You could pick the background noise. I love it. itās the best thing when Iām working Iām alone all day and it gets me through the hardest part but recently every time I go to click on a story it will take me to the one underneath it even if I do it with my pinky, itāll take me underneath it and then when I go queue a story, it wonāt be in there. Itāll go onto another one, but I have no interest in sometimes in that time and I have the background noise on low and when I exit the app and turn off my phone itāll get really loud louder than it and I have to restart the app. Itās the other two that really annoy me because I donāt have time to be messing with my phone I just want to get to work, but those issues are make me want look for a new app, but I really really love this app and I think maybe if I told you guys you guys could look into it because itās something that maybe you guys could fix really easily
Teaser App
Honestly, I wanna love to love this Iāve been listening to chilling I had a subscription I cancelled it and then I got the 2.0 and it just doesnāt make sense to me. I canāt get the long stories/series that I get on YouTube the one thing I donāt like about YouTube is how the ads wake you up but the same thing happens when you switch stories so whatās the point you get these 10 to 15 minute stories and youāre abruptly disturbed by a change in tone and storytelling. When youāre like me and you love, a certain topic like the paranormal, but every narrator has a different style, and itās impossible to fall asleep to when you have the most hard time falling asleep to begin with. I love this app but the timer and ambiance just donāt make it make sense for me.

Doesn't work
Only goes to a blank page when I try to go to a narrator's page and will not open up the entire narrator list. When I try to get support, I'm taken to a 504 error. Horrible app. Wish I could have my money back.
Enjoyable
Update: I like what is available content-wise. I do wish this was a bit user friendlier?? Iād like the ability to listen to the one narrator or maybe a cluster of stories from them?? I figured out how to search by narrator however when you push play, it goes on to play stuff from different narrators in a queue I am afraid to try to access for fear of having to do the search yet again for the same narrators of choice.. I get the whole exposure to other voices n writers but Iād like to ability to just listen to 1 person if one desires. Thanks for having this awesome app! I love the app so far. I know itās just starting so the content isnāt as large but itās still a pretty decent selection of voices. Only thing Iād like to change is the ability to save by artist instead of only episodes. :) LOVING the app! Canāt wait to see how it blooms

Used to absolutely adore this app and used to be well worth the Ā£3 a month subscription not it crashes every 10 seconds now and just shuts down the app for no reason
